From the Port game...Logan was robbed of not being in the best players. He was Glenelgs clear best player in the first half and had the ball everywhere. Wanganeen started well but went off in the first five minutes. Looby was quite good...was confident and displayed his huge kick. Willits was great in the first half on Morrison but struggled on the quicker Waterhouse.

I think what also happened with Willits was Mickan uses him as a huge roadblock at CHB - sort of like a big centre in the key in basketball - forcing sides to go around or over him. Timmy dragged him away from this position to a flank with his match ups in the second half and opened a clear road to goal. The upshot of this is that Willits is unlikely to have big stats games seeing as he's there to be avoided. Unless a team has a good CHF they go thru.

From the review of the South v Centrals game it sounds like Carlile did a good job on Schell, but didn't make the best players. Read like Schell got away a bit in the second half but was made to earn his kicks.

It was a sh1tty game to assess Willits' game really. First half he shut out Shane Morrison, but Morrison is a :D:D:D:Dful player anyway. Third quarter I think he had about three opponents. Fourth quarter he played up forward and didn't get kicked to as Glenelg chose to spray the ball instead.

I read somewhere in the back of the sports that Thomas withdrew from Friday night with a thigh injury.

I was at the north v norwood game and:

a. motlop - looked classy but tried to do too many speccy things instead of treating the opposition with respect

b. lower looked great for an 18 year old and had 4 different opponents including both north ruckmen - he did very well @ 184 cm when the ruckmen were 196 & 200 cm resting at FF

C. Minson - great at tapouts but low on the learning curve in general play

Lower is 187cm BTW.

Looks like the only player that went well enough to get called up next week was Motlop. Does anyone think that Logan will be elavated at season end?

Lower might be a chance next week?

Well, now I have free time again, I'll review the other participants in the Port vs Glenelg match.

Looby - looked pretty good, but he was reliant on his opponent stuffing up. Still, it was only his SANFL debut. He didn't look rattled, and he's got a long kick. Not worth elevating as yet.

Logan - Didn't really have cause to look him up. Was OK, but again not worth elevating at this point.

Gibbs - only saw him with the ball in space, wasn't a great game to show him off.

Sellar - As Gibbs, but less impressive.

Thomas pulled out with a thigh.

Motlop had 12 disposals, 6 marks and 4 goals. No frees against as well.

Lower had 10 disposals and 1 mark.

Porthos just interested as to why you dont think Logan is worth elevating yet. From what i read on footysa.com he is always up there amongst the best on ground for glenelg. Does he still hit the ball hard like he did in his few games for Brissy. If he does then i think he should be elevated cause we need some hard players atm.

Basically because...

a) we've still got in and under players that are on our regular list that could come in (Thomson)
b) It affects our salary cap if we bring Logan in
c) We can do it at the end of the year with no problem
d) We don't need security in case of sudden injury to our finals contending side.

So basically, my assessment is nothing to do with Logan's form.
