Watching bits of this game on delay - as at work (I know Arsene, dream job!)
I get the feeling we are playing for draft picks now. I have never witnessed the lack of accountability we keep displaying week after week. How can they have so many free players, with our guys peeling off, yet we have no-one dropping back to where they kick the footy. There must be some holes at Aami that I wasn't aware of where our guys hide.
Bishop, Bishop, Bishop............sigh..........sigh.........sigh:(
Wakelin - is making Queen Mary look agile out there.
Kane Cornes - how low has he dropped? The fumble when Ebert handballed to him on the outer wing highlighted his drop in game. Doesn't look like clearing the ball, and his disposal when he has it never hits a target. Why did Chad handball to him in the second term after he won a free kick in the middle? Ball was turned over and Black got it where Kane's kick landed.
Shaun Burgoyne - is he the only guy who chases? No-one helps him. Brisbane players were fumbling so often in the first half and JB was the only player within coo-ee.
Terrible to see Lonie and Surjan and even Wilson hold up on chases as they expect the opponent to kick it - haven't they heard of turnovers from perceived pressure?
Tredrea - should it take this long to get back into form?
Almost all of Brisbane's first quarter goals resulted after we had hands on the footy in the middle or our HF line. Then a turnover created by an unnecessary short pass (by hand or foot) turned it their way and of course there was no pressure on their players.
Our skill levels are just as bad as our lack of chasing and our lack of manning up. White - dropped marks and clanger kicks, Salopek - clangers, Kingsley - just dreadful.
This is really depressing. So far only Ebert and Symes have impressed as far as the young players go. DeLuca has a touch of class and Ezard a bit of grit. Salopek is very slow - Moody easily outran him. Surjan - back to where he was at his lazy worst last year. Just happy to stay off contests after doing some good things very early in the game.
Any other team would have been beating us by 8-10 goals at this stage of the match. At least Brisbane's players are presenting and holding their marks. Their tall forwards (even Patful) are making Warren and friends look very, very ordinary, not to mention Bishop and Wakelin look like a couple of geriatrics.

I am starting to wonder if there is more wrong at the club than we know.
To see the players with sharp skills a few years ago now play it is a wonder where the skills have gone.
look at who we have as assistant coaches
Our players are :D:D:D:Ding morons. How many times do 3 port players run to pressure the player with the ball only to have it passed over their head to a loose player? Never seen us chase so many tails. Oh wait, that's not exactly true, only JB and Pearce are actually chasing.
Bishop is providing nothing. No pressure, no rebounds, no spoils, nothing. ZILCH. He might as well not be there. If Carlile or Willits came in, they cannot possibly do any worse, so why the hell not?
Only good things today were Ebert, Shaun, Symes, I didnt think surjan gave up. Ezard at least tried to do the hard things compared to some of our more senior players. Bishop is unbelievable.

Bloody ordinary today....
We are just getting worse and worse. No accountablity, no second efforts, no heart.
Backline was terrible, Wakelin and Bishop = ordinary, very.
As soon as Peter went down injured, we had no drive through the mid-field. Shaun tried but couldn't hold it on his own.
Forward line was semi okay, when the ball was actually down. Ebert played one of his best games today I believe. White and Mahoney also tried for most of the day.
Lade was awesome in the first half, but holding the ruck together all season may be taking it'd toll on him.
Tredrea = ????.
Youngsters were okay, but most were unseen.
Thurstans had the Anti-Midas touch today. Everything he touched turned to :D:D:D:D.

Salopek was great today - amongst the best
Ezard is a tough little bugger and tackles well
Symes played well - won some contested ball
Deluca looked good, only 4 disposals but was ok
Surjan was alright, not as good as last week but chased a bit and had one real nice smother. Keep him in the team
Ebert was great one of our best
White played alot :D:D:D:Dter than last week
Pearce was average at best
Lonie played well in the first half but was unsighted in the second
and Shaun was below best.
When I think about it, thats alot of young guys but its time to bring in more.
**** off Bishop and Kingsley, Drop Tredrea and I guess Peter will be out for a while.
Ford Fairlane

I have one observation.
The fish rots from the head.
I'd rather us finish mid table for 100 years than be whores of the equalisation system. I'd also rather us attempt to put foundations in place to develop and nurture mid-range players than tank and get high draft picks to maximise 'our turn.' Beating the system is much nobler an achievement than winning a premiership.
If Bishop plays next week, we are officially tanking.

Pearce was average at best
Left to rot up forward for most of the day.
Every week, I hope and pray that he'll be put on the wing and given free reign.
Got my wish last week but this week?
Dropping Tredrea is crazy talk. He needs to find his fitness but it's better he does that with the Power.
He's still taking a defender or two with him and providing a contest.
BTW, the experienced players are setting a terrible example.
Kane needs to go back to a half-back flank where he can get his hand on the footy and run in a straight line.
As for Bish, well - he used to provide some run out of defence. But not anymore and without that run, I don't see his value to the team.

Sorry, I don't have any observations - we didn't even bother watching today. A quick radio update at half time was enough, secure in the knowledge that a 7-1 third quarter would finish us off (I think it was actually 9-1 but we were close).
FACT: We now have the worst defence in the league by almost 100 points.
Let's go surfing

And in the backline? WTF was the go there?
I have one observation.
The fish rots from the head.
And while we're on the subject of heads - you've hit the nail right on it.

It's not entirely the defence that is at fault, especially when the ball gets bombed into the forward so often out of the centre with very little to no pressure being applied.
The players attitude is what is really starting to annoy me though, it's almost the case of if the game isn't going their way then they just shut up shop for the day.
With regards to Bishop .... sure they could drop him & possibly Wakelin but the other players on our list just don't have the bulk to play key positions yet as they would be pushed off the ball way too easy.

I have one observation.
The fish rots from the head.
That is exactly right. Chocco is really making himself look like a fool now... Pathetic coaching. Whilst alot of the players are in poor poor form, i definately think we had the cattle out there to beat Brisbane.
I will never be ashamed to support the club i love but im ashamed of the effort/accountability and desire of some of the players. I think the players are lost and the coach has lost them as well. For the future of our club - Some tough calls need to made - by the board or by Chocco. I couldnt give a toss that his contract runs til next year - Pay him out - he is a joke with no vision or balls....
yep he got us a flag in 04 but that doesnt cut it with me !! Im seething...
One more thing - the one thing that really :D:D:D:Des me off is that some of the players just dont care. I am guessing its probably the same with all of you but i have to go to work tommorrow and will cop an absolute barage from my workmates!! It hurts us fans alot - IM HURTING
Anyone is better than Chocco at this point - Get Macca 19 and Ford Fairlane in th ebox - i reckon its worth a go...
PS - Roe looked handy today

I have one observation.
The fish rots from the head.
And as we have observed before, Port is truly a rabble from top to bottom. I feel that the board is now under pressure and will resort to the only thing it has the courage to do, viz, send a signal and reappoint the coach for another term. Choco is the Robert Moses, the J Edgar Hoover of the PAFC. He answers to no-one.

Whilst a lot of the players are in poor poor form, i definitely think we had the cattle out there to beat Brisbane.....Undoubtedly.

Bishop deserves never to play AFL footy again.
We were a rabble

Guaranteed that with the Gold Card Pass that Choco has handed out to the deadwood of the team that Bishop will be there next week.
He should be hoistered back to the SANFL Reserves and taught how to play the game.
