Without trying to fuel the anti-Rucci sentiment on this board, does anyone find it somewhat ironic he's pushing the 'conflict of interest' line in the Advertiser at the moment?

Not bad from a bloke who wrote the Williams family biography and was seen hugging Choco after the 2004 GF win.

Another thing why is Geoff Roach writing an article on Port, let alone footy articles. I thought he wasnt a sport writer.

Jesus Rucci is really trying to give this nothing issue legs. I think most people couldn't give a rats. The lengths he will try and go to to make the AFC look bad never ceases to amaze.

I just did a bit of research on Kevin Norton.
He and Craigy go way back and have co-authored several scientific papers, on cycling and football.
I found this one in public domain (doesnt have Craig as co-author but another familiar name instead)

http://www.ausport.gov.au/fulltext/2001/acsms/papers/NORT1.pdf

The crux of what Norton seems to have been saying over the last few years is aimed at injury prevention. He hypothesises that number of AFL injuries are proportional to game speed (see the link).

The faster turnarounds between behinds and kick-ins was aimed at DECREASING game speed by keeping the players tired, whilst creating the illusion that game speed had INCREASED. The clubs responded by increasing interchange rotations. That's why he wants to restrict interchanges now... he wants to make the game slower by keeping the players tired, as does the AFL.

"The best outcome would be to mould the game into a slower one yet create the perception that the game is actually played at a faster speed"

and another link for the hell of it

Hi Rooch,

Thanks for acknowledging us 'tired old hacks' in today's Advertiser.

Loved the line about Phil Harper, too. It seems you've become an expert on misrepresentation - like the 'Rucci retirement' story. It's a shame you're the one who started the story. How embarrassed you must have been when the AFC exposed you. Oh well, gave us a laugh anyway.

All the best,

Tired Old Hack

Michelangelo Rucci: Look, I remember ’97-’98, when Adelaide won two premierships in a row, as my worst nightmare if you want to go down that path, and it does not compare.

:p :p

How about him trying to take the moral high ground in his article about Mark Williams?

What a tool! I think the scary thing is he actually believes what he writes.

We are getting bagged and irational accusations based on that we are fitter than everyone else:confused:

Is there a record of all clubs fitness level that states this?
If not what do they base us being fitter on? thus seeking an advantage and Kevin naughton trying to push our cause

We got beaten in the last quarter by Melbourne,West Coast kicked goals very late to beat us, Freo came at us in the second half and final quarter and Nth kicked the last three goals of the game:confused:

Our fitness is really that much better:rolleyes:

To be fair in that North Melbourne match the game was in doubt by then, the Crows didnt really look like they were really desperate in the last few minutes when the goals were scored.
