Just the 1 change for me:

In - French
Out - DeLuca

Saw Adelaide training today on Ten.

Full scale practice match,
with umpires,
on AAMI with the oval reduced by 40 metres all over.

Lots of short stuff.

However, as most training sessions on the main oval,
are closed to the public/media
and TV was allowed to screen footage,
maybe a bit of a ruse going on.

You think Waite might kick a few whilst on crutches?

Longmuir & Prendergast have proven themsleves not up to the task at AFL level. We are kidding ourselves if they play.

Russell has to come in along with French. Livo might be a chance if they consider playing Lance up forward.

Livingston returning from back injury.
Did play well at AAMI last year,
off the goal line.
Really worked well with Thornton.

Longmuir - No,
Prendegast - god hell no.

DeLuca isn't good enough unfortunately and Barnaby is a much better, more reliable option.

I think Russell should come in as well, for who? I don't care.

IN: French, Russell, Livingston
OUT: DeLuca, Saddington,Waite(INJ)
Line up:
B. Carrazzo Livingston McGrath
HB. Walker Thornton Wiggins
C. Scotland Stevens Simpson
HF.Houlihan Whitnall Koutoufides
F. Betts Fevola Lappin
FOLL.McLaren Bentick Murphy
INTER.Russell French Kennedy Blackwell

Would like to see Lance play forward now that Waite & Fisher are both on injured list. Livo to come in to take place in defence. French must surely replace DeLuca with Russell and Blackwell to rotate through the midfield.

Prenda should never play seniors again. I don't care if he kicks 100goals in the bullants and averages 40 touchs. He has proven time and time again he is not up to AFL level. It would be taking a huge step backward if we do.

Same goes for Longmuir.

I think Livo deserves another crack.

According to carltonfc.com, he'll be out for 4-6 weeks. It's been diagnosed as a grade 2 medial ligament strain.

Why would we do that? Unless it was designed to approximate a closed cramped game?

Has anyone told NC we are playing Carlton at AAMI and not Sydney in Sydney???

The sooner Deluca ( Pagan's Pet ) is out of the side the better for the club. French should always been in the side no matter what as he always puts in a effort.Pagan should be trying as many young players as he can from now, maybe even persist with Sentata for a few games. You never know!!!

People are saying Longmuir hasn't proven himself.... when has he been given the chance???

I would like to see Livo come in, was stiff to be dropped in the first place! He kicked a nice goal while playing soccer at training, so he's in great touch.

French in for Deluca.

Play Lance forward, Livo back, French ruck.

Too much of an attitude problem. Will be lucky to get a game this year and will most likely be delisted at the end of the year. That's what I think anyway.

Agree. Carrazzo needs some confidence and he'll get that playing for the Ants. Betts is pretty unlucky imo. Has really picked up in his defensive side of the game. Needs to kick more goals though.

As long as they play Prenderghast forward as crash and basher. He probably will take more marks than Deluca and play a simialr role. He seems better up forward in the VFL and his combination of sheer size and athleticism might make him a handful if we get a mismatch. He just doesn't have the judgement to play in defence on a tall forward.

Its a bit like shuffling chairs on the titanic but in general agree that the ommissions have been pretty unimpressive the last couple of weeks.

Betts only had 4 touches last week. Needs to go back to the VFL to find the footy. As does De Luca who had 5.

There is no excuse for not playing Russell, none whatsoever.

This is a larf. What would Crows fans be thinking with those ins?? There's 4 blokes there that are guaranteed to get towelled up by their direct opponents. Might as well play only 18 with no bench.

Same old, same olds,

I wouldn't call Betts and Carazzo "same old, same old". They were two players who have been a bit lacklustre lately, although Eddie doesn't stop trying.

The fact is, we have to play these duds to see who we do and don't delist at the end of the year because we can't delist all of them.

I want to give Longmuir another chance, I don't think he has been given a proper go.

78 games over a 9 year AFL career and you reckon we still don't know what he is capable of.

Dominates at VFL level on talent alone, but gets found out at the top level as he doesn't work hard enough.

- injury prone
- enigma

i think what stoksey is trying to say is, he hasent been played for weeks on end, but with 78 games under the belt, we should know by now.

Agree,
chance to play russell in his home town,
in what will probably turn into statfest2006,
but no.

WIll admit Betts and Carazzo stiff, Betts to me is far more dangerous playing the aaron davey role, setting up plays, running guys down, but last week, he was on the ball or on the bench.
Seemed Denis has one specific role for a player per week.

Denis protects HIS players, Matthews used to do it at Collingwood.

I am going to this taradiddle on Saturday,
and will yell my guts out,
but these blokes better show something.

Though i know his standard coaching epiphany is to move Whitnall forward.
i mean Der, Denis

INS: OUTS:
French 102kg DeLuca 99kg
Prendergast 98kg Saddington 93kg
Livingston 97kg Carrazzo 88kg
Teague 90kg Betts 75kg
Sporn 85kg Waite inj

We still have playing:
Murphy 75kg
Blackwell 70kg
Simpson 76kg etc.

Adelaide are a very physical side and I think the inclusions have more to do with adding mature bodies to balance the ledger somewhat. The players omitted are all struggling for form at present while the inclusions have at least been solid in the VFL. While we all would like to see Denis play the kids, remember we still have Murphy, Blackwell and Kennedy who are all first year senior players being given opportunity. Carlton are being pushed around far too easily at present and the young guys currently playing need mature bodies around them for protection. Russell, Bower etc. will all be given their chance but playing too many kids at once is like throwing the lambs to the wolves. A bit of patience required from Blues supporters in my opinion.

Good Post. I agree, and on the inclusions - French was always going to return, Prenders form in the twos meant he should've actually been promoted b4 now, and the others just show that we're going to be re-jigging our defence - it desperately needs it, so we have to try something!

Waite was injured, and most of the others deserved to be dropped.

We can't throw too many kids to the wolves, and if worst case means we end up writing off some of these journeymen once and for all, then so be it, but i think we'll go better against the Crows with some tougher bodies in there, may even get within 10 goals...
