When Medhurst gets traded and kicks a bag against us next season, the same fans will be asking why he got traded in the first place.

Tall forward/ruckman for West Perth, has kicked at least 1 goal in all 8 games (http://www.sportingpulse.com.au/nf/team_info.cgi?action=PSTATS&client=%40Western%20Australian%20Football%20League%20%28WAFL %29%402393%4038897%40%40%404320165%40West%20Perth%404%402006 %20League%401%40&pID=121913195&pname=Adam%20Campbell&news_task=DETAIL)for West Perth this year, max of 3 last week.
The thing about Medhurst is that he isn't a crumbing forward. He is a short leading forward. When you think about it, he is most affected by the flood, in that he's lost the space to lead into, and doesn't have the height to mark over the top of people (apart from the odd speccy).
Hence they've tried to turn him into a midfield/half forward feeder of the ball... something he's done very well at times, not too good at other times. Chuck into that the pressure on him as being having "least handballs to kick ratio" in the league at this time last year and labelling him as selfish... and you have a very confused footballer.
He isn't a natural crumber, something everyone expects him to be. He is a natural lead/mark/goal player... but is probably 4-6 inches too short to do that effectively these days at AFL level.

How many more years does Farmer have in him? Two maybe?
When he's gone we'll be looking for another small forward to take his place. I think we have one of the best of the competition in Medhurst. Yeah he's got a big ego but once the Wiz moves on he'll be content in knowing he's the main man as far as the small forwards go at Freo.
It would be crazy to get rid of him.
Good to see Campbell get a run, looking forward to seeing his 'aggression' that CC was talking about.

So you reckon we should get rid of him?

So you reckon we should get rid of him?
No, but we need to find a better role for him, or he needs to adapt to his required role, and we need to stop thinking he's got to kick 3-4 goals every game.

no i think we should keep him i can just see the burstin potential once he has the hunger and improves his defensive game and doesnt play for free kicks, he is the kind of player who can kick goals from half forwards
65+ meters
Medhurst also struggling with a thumb injury at the moment....he will come back, probably not this week though.
I've seen Adam Campbell probably 8-10 times over 2005-06...predominately plays CHF, sometimes from FF, occasionally has a run around in the ruck. He has a booming kick, & quite a good 1 grab mark...last year he struggled & ended up playing in the 2nd's...this year he is playing hard, attacking footy & was named as West Perths best last week mainly from having a run around in the ruck. He is aggressive at the man. On the negavtives he tends not to read the play as a natural (he is a kiwi) player, but hopefully the delivery to him is better than that of Wafl level so he may actually play better as an Afl player if that makes sense.
I've been big wraps on the guy for the last 2 years...not a natural but as I said a booming kick & a nice touch of aggression. If he does make his debut this week at the Gabba, hopefully he can hang onto his spot or be given another chance on Subi Oval in front of a home crowd.

Unfortunately, he'll get as much opportunity as Ryan Murphy did - SFA. The only reason Spud got decent game time last round was due to McPharlin's injury. Up until recently he only played about 2/10 of a game if selected.

Didn't he get enough game time to kick 3 goals before McPharlin was injured last week? I could be wrong! :)
He'd managed to kick 1 or 2 before Mcpharlin came off. I think his second two goals came after Elvis left the field.

Macpharlap passed the ball to Potato for his first goal.

What did parsley, rosemary and thyme have to say?
Now we know how you read the future. You divine the cooking herbs. :D
