Overall out game last week was disappointing and there were many passengers, however there were three players i was particularly disappointed with. The first one was matthew bode, who i've been a longtime supporter of. Perhaps he was still recovering from that concussion. The second was mick doughty who despite having one of the cleanest kicks on the team continues to use the handball and set teammates up with hospital balls. The last was ken McGregor whose kicking for goal was quite poor. I didnt realise he didnt have a better leg on him than that actually. We'll role carlton no doubt, but along with hentschel too i'd look for improvement from these three imparticular.

I thought that Mattner had his worst game of the year last week although he wasn't alone. Since he came back into the team he has given us a lot of run through the midfield as well as his defensive pressure.

I wouldn't mind seeing Reilly get some more game time.

Bode was definitely down last week - zero kicks! - but that often happens when people come back from concussion.

Yeah I agree. He has improved a lot over the past few years and is quiet a good player now, but he still seems to spend a reasonable amount of time on the bench....unless I'm just imagining things :p

just maybe

I'd say Scott Stevens, but I think he's hit his peak.

I'd say,

B: Johncock, Bassett, Massie
HB: Doughty, Rutten, McLeod
C: Mattner, Goodwin, Burton
HF: Thompson, McGregor, Reilly
F: Bode, Ricciuto, Hentschel
FOLL: Biglands, Edwards, Shirley
I/C: Clarke, van Berlo, Knights, Stevens

last week was a very poor team performance, everyone needs to pull their finger out and improve this week.

To be honest i would be hoping for some improvement in our coaching panel if Pagan happens to pull something weird & wacky out of the hat.

Yeh, you have a point, but IMO even with Richmonds little chip around plan, we would have broken them open if we executed properly. We played without intensity and failed to execute even the most basic skills. NC stuck with our game plan as long as he could but ultimately had to change to man on man because we couldnt play our game effectively. In the end i think our lack of skills and intensity let Richmond off the hook too many times and cost us quite a few goals at both ends. If we took our chances early it would have been Richmond who would have had to alter their plan, and try to score instead of just wasting the time away.

The whole 22.

And the wise men in the coaching box too.

Take some risks. Back in your own men with hard running, hard tackling, committed, effecient, and effective use of the ball.

Can't be too hard on Bode. He has been playing extremely well in the early part of the season, and coming back from a concussion has probably shaken his head a little. He'll bounce back this week no doubt.

This is basically true. However, 2 areas in particular:

1. Midfield/ruckmen with clearances; &
2. Overall skills & use of the ball from most of the team.
