It's not so much as Brittain's recruiting (he was only headcoach for a couple of years) but Parkin's. He kept trading our early picks for recycled hacks like Mansfield, Mcguane, O'Reiley etc and yet he seems to have escaped blame for our current problems. Pagan may not be coaching well at the moment, but he sure inherited a pretty poor list.

I think she writes some good material. I don't worry to much about the negative stuff. Alot have bias's we know. But it's good to get a different perspective at times.

As for Britts....I would not blame him in the slightest. He was the scapegoat remember!

Spot on, I fully agree with you. Pagan inherited a list full of crap and then copped a load od s**t from Demitiou and his mates at the AFL. Name another coach that could have done better with what he has got.:thumbsu:

Basically Nicols came out and said that the previous administration was to blame for the financial problems because of the decisions they made such as building the legends stand and that Parkin took his eye off the ball after 95 and didn't recruit properly. He also said that he thought Collins started to get the club on the right track and he supported the current administration and stated that the whole club and its supporters needed to get behind Pagan.

O'Sullivan will go down as the worst recruiting manager in Carlton history. He is the one, along with Parkin, who put us in the hole. That guy wouldn't know a good young player if he step over one.

One coach who would have dome much better is the real Denis Pagan. He has allowed the circumstances to get the better of him. Like many of our senior players he has lost instict when placed under extreme pressure.

Still think he is the guy to take us forward. However he needs to go much deeper into himself and truly find his gift again.

For what it is worth I think Roos and even Worsfold may have done better. Not saying that they have more wisdom than Denis but appear more balanced in their personalities.
