View Full Version : Has this board been over-moderated?

i have replied twice to this thread, and twice you have deleted it.
The post was acceptable. Posting my opinion in an orderly manner. The language was tasteful and it did not deserve to be deleted.
It is BUL:D:D:D:D if u can only post ur opinions of grant thomas. U have twice manipulated this board by disregarding my opinion. There must be right of reply.

You are in error SpInNeR, as Sainter can attest to (we mods can see all the deleted posts), you have not posted in this thread before (ever).
I did delete two posts of yours in another thread.
You were off topic.
I am not going to tolerate negative junk when it is off topic.
Nor am I going to allow numerous threads started on the same topic.
I simply don't want this forum flooded with numerous posts that repeat the same thing over and over.
I am all for freedom of speech, and I respect your "right of reply", but I am not going to be swayed on this. I am not going to allow this forum to be hijacked by those with an agenda that doesn't fit within the Saints credo.
If you want to post your opinion on Grant Thomas, do so, but do it in an appropriate thread or start a new one (If your search does not find a topic that you deem of a similar theme).

I have moved this portion and created a new thread so that others might have their say.

That's not fair SpInNeR, I do encourage posters to post.
I do hold strong views, but welcome other (even contrasting) views.
Chas is another poster who posted similar opinions to yours, and felt it was his right to post those opinions in virtually every thread.
At some point we have to draw the line and say this is no longer just expressing an opinion, it is now spam / vandalism / sabotage of the forum.
My view is to encourage posters to keep on-topic.
I am not rigid in this, as threads can become interesting or provocative through twists in content.
Comments??

The mods do a great job on this board IMO.
There's no need to bring up GT in every post you make in your life, and no one else wants to hear about it.

StKildonan is right, the deleted messages would appear on my screen if they existed.
We allow a lot of stuff to be said here that wouldn't be tolerated on some other club boards. We've had opposition supporters post here intent on debating issues that most of us feel passionate about but we've been prepared to let them have their say and respond rather than banning them on sight.
I'm not interested in having this board exist as a lovefest where we all have the same opinion. I wouldn't bother posting here if that was the case. StKildonan and I just don't want every second thread getting hijacked. We don't want a thread about Robert Harvey turning into why Grant Thomas should be sacked. That's what we want to avoid. If you don't agree you don't have to post here but hopefully it won't come to that.
Great mod work guys. I too am sick of reading a Kosi thread that ends up about GT.
We all have differing views about GT and no discussion will change the other persons view. If I want to read or participate in another 10 pages of the same old "he should go...he should stay" stuff, i will look for a relevant forum.
Go Saints!

Are you serious?
The thread was titled coaches, how is that off topic?
You keep insisting i have been off topic. Where?? and When did this happen?
Secondly, u blatently manipulate a thread as if had had created it. I dont think this board is over moderated nor did i raise this issue to the stkilda board. All i did was ask u why u kept deleting my posts when i disagree with u on the topic of GT. May i remind u that they are replying to post or in threads that are discussing GT in the first place.
Dont act all high and mighty and insist that i am creating spam by posting my opinion of GT in every post because this is absolute crap. Dont defend soemthing u did wrong and try to manipulate a thread in order to decrease my credability.
By the way i remind u that this thread was titled Coaches. WTF do you expect me to talk about in a thread titled COACHES.
(and of course others are going to agree with u just because u are the moderator - chance for easy brownie points. Yet i know that u, stkildadon know exactly what im talking about and let me tell you i dont agree with ur manipulative manner.)

OMG, Until reading ur reply to the Rix thread i never ever ever realised that u were from queensland.
I cant believe it.
Watching a team live is extremely different from tv. U actually get to see the game plan unfold (yet in our case there isnt one). The differences between seeing a team each week and watching it on tv are unparalleled.
No wonder your views are so blantently WRONG.
This explains it.
I retract my discression against all of ur opinions as now i finally understand that they are all made with a lack of information.
(At the same time i now admire u - as you are so far away yet so passionate)

SpInNeR I created this thread (partly because it was off topic) but more to be open and accountable in my moderation of this board.
I even posted this at the time:

There was no manipulation to make you out to be the bad guy or to reduce your credibility. The thread was entitled Coaches, and it is still on the board, just these above posts (if you have a look at the top of each post it gives the title of the thread it is posted under) were moved to a thread dedicated to this topic. Despite your assertions, you did not post in the Coaches thread before the first post now in this thread.

I did delete two of your posts in a thread. It was this thread, (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=243370) entitled Saints give Thomas big tick.
Did you read it before posting?
The thread is about how the club is standing by GT.
It discusses the difficulties we are having with injuries and with early season form and Thomas's refusal to do what every other coach is doing i.e. flooding.
The topic is the support of the St Kilda football club for GT and the philosophy behind his approach to coaching.

I get to as many games as I can. I even moved to Melbourne to live for 18 months so that I could be able to see my beloved Saints.
I was there August / September last year.
I've even been to training a few times recently.
You can believe what you want about my ability to discern game plans and tactical manoevres, but I watch each Saints game at least three times in order to see what we are doing right and what we are doing wrong.
I think I know my stuff.
I simply don't know whether you do.

Yeah, I agree SpInNer. It's tantamount to treason, whatever the reason.

Looks like I don't know anything either. I've been to 2 games in 30 years, the last one about 5 years ago.

StKildonan, don't justify yourself to this fool. I'd just let his posts stand as a testament to his stupidly.
