Derrich is the only real forward out of those players and he is twice the player Camma is. You know and I know it GB50.

Don't know the stats, but how many goals has he kicked against the good sides? One of his goals on the weekend was from a soft free kick and I reckon he had only a couple of touches for the day. Granted it is only one game, but you have a pretty lightweight (in terms of size, not skill) forwardline as it is. Faisel is probably more value as he can take a contested mark.

He does have skill, is an accurate kick and I have seen him take a few high marks over the years. Not sure if he is going to do much against the good sides though.

Why is he on the bench? He doesn't play on the ball so no need for rotation.

Derich is fat and if he goes into your side on reputation good luck.

Sorry only on ballers can rotate, thanks for that.

Our bence is not 19th to 21st man, it depends on the team any particular week who is there.

Yeah we might be light weight with Greto, Camma and Pante but so what. Every player cant be tall, quick, solid be able to play tall, play small. I also think that Nicholaides and Roberson are more than capable of taking a contested mark. Contested marks wont matter on bigger grounds anyway when we have space to run into and scrubber sides wont be able to flood a tiny forward line.

Had to post again on this one. The more I read it the more it makes me sick. Derich wouldn't be running off anyone and past has shown a fat Derich is a useless Derich.

As for you please tell what you have done in your senior career All eyes. My tip is nothing so on the back of one good win don't elevate yourself to some sort of good player.

I am surprised that you are still getting a game. Is it on the back of coming from Colts or because you have height. It's a mystery to me because you haven't (in your words and others at your clubs words) had a kick all year and we are 10 games in. Something will give shortly because it's not secret if a player hasn't turned it on once in 2 1/2 months of football there is a fair chance he really can't play.

What do you mean hasn't turned it on once in ten games? All Eyes is being modest and unassuming. Not like some of the fools on this thread. He has had a few quiet games, but also been very strong in a number of others.

Chimp you have been bagging people for weeks. I make one comment that I don't rate Camma as a player and it turns feral.

Well in future please refrain from making negative comments about a Sunshine heights club legend. Thanking you in anticiaption of your co operation.

12 months minimum. Like I said as it was deliberate hopefully the penalty is at least doubled. What does he think he will get less than the minimum. Or that he had good reason to bump an umpire because if you are apparently provoked by an umpire you can turn into a complete fool and do as you like.

No we wont move on. I want you to apologise for saying Camma was no good.

Derich is fat and slow at present. Like I said fat Derich over the years has been a useless one. He looked woeful in the two's on Saturday. He might be able to bump a few people but thats where it ends.

My last comment on this issue.

I never said he was no good. I said I don't rate him that highly as a footballer and that Tucky is a better player. Why should I apologise?

I agree Derich needs to get fitter, but don't think he was woeful. I guess time will tell.

I accept your apology.

Tucky wouldn't play ones at Heights and Camma does. Tucky is not in the ones at Nth. Why:are you a stronger side on paper than Heights . No because Tucky hasn't had a kick for years and if the tribunal are serious will make sure he doesn't for years to come. What a disgrace he is.

Hey guys,
Peacock here, as most of you know me as!
Got a question for you. Not judging either case as i didnt see either of them, but whats worse?
1. The umpire bump last week. verdict= 12 months
or
2. A player kicking another player in the head, which i believe happened a couple of years ago. I think he got 8 weeks.

Just wonder what everyones thoughts are..

:cool:Camma didn't play the practice game you speak of so silly post there.

Thats about all you would do on him run because from what I have seen and heard of you, you don't have much idea about getting the football. Camma is no star but a very handy forward who does his job. All eyes you wouldn't get near a game at Heights. So talk yourself up but mate you haven't been in the best once, you never got a game at Colts. You have done nothing.

And what great standard have you played Champ or is it Chump , Ash Lewis only problem was he was at a club that has been the best for the last two season's was ,very good in the two's but found it hard to pay senior's only because of hardly any injuries and the fact that they were winning ,although was close a number of time's to getting a game..

Kicking a player in the head is a lower act.... but as someone mentioned on here earlier if you let players off lightly for touching an umpire deliberately the comp will turn to crap.

The comp struggles to attract umpires as it is. If players are allowed to get away with touching, pushing or even intimidating umpires we will have even less of them. As much as people carry on about umpirires if we dodn't have them we would have no comp.

Thanks for sticking your head in, Peacock. Finally a subject that people from different clubs can approach with some modicum of relative objectivity.

The way I see it, the two offence have different implications for the game. On the one hand, as I have eluded to in previous posts, umpires should be the sacred cow of the football field. Nobody has the right to touch them under any circumstances. Crossing that line requires an example to be made. Nobody's life and limb is in danger, but if umpires aren't offered the appropriate protection, the game of football is the victim and we all suffer.

On the other hand, kicking a player on the ground is an act of violence that can't be justified under any circumstances. It's not self defence, it's not a fair fight and the consequences could end someone's season, career or even life. For these reasons, not just to make an example to others, this type of offender should be removed from the game for the longest possible period of time and in some cases criminal charges should be laid. If someone got eight weeks for a kick in the head, I sincerely hope they were also put on a strict probation for life.

Play nice, folks.

We all winge about the umps but if their not protected why would any young kid want to umpire if that sort of stuff could happen to them! And if these sort of issues are not dealt with appropriately the players might have to take it in turns to umpire a match if they want to play the game which all football players would hate to do!.

Was in the rooms before the game and the boys were more interested in playing tug of war with me than thinking about the game. I think they looked a bit tired.

Was not happy before the game the umpire made them untie me from the fence thinking I might bite someone. He doesn't understand that I am a good natured dog and wouldn't hurt a fly. I did get a bit angry with him and let out a couple of barks when he came close to let him know.

Anyway the boys had the same shots at goal as North Footscray but couldn't kick straight. I think that if we play again the scoreboard will tell a different story.

Was at training Tuesday, it looked as though the boys were doing lots of running and contested work. They trained til 7 50 and looked exhausted. The medical room was full with a shoulder, ankle and broken nose after the hard night. Hope to get down there tonight and eat a bit of dinner. Hope it's not pasta because it's not hard to grab a parmigana off someones plate when they are not looking but it's hard to grab some pasta.

I think that we will win comfortably this week and hopefully the umpire lets me be to enjoy the football. If not then there could be trouble and the ranger might be called.

I believe with the new rule that came in his permit will be withdrawn under the 16 week suspention rule.
so he should look forward to just eating pies behind the goals and sinking a few froffies.

Maybe some of the players should umpire a game just to see the sort of pressure that the umpires are in week in week out.

Losing by 2 goals to the sides sitting first and third on the ladder respectively doesnt sound like an average side, or a side that has fallen to butter, it sounds like a side that on their day could turn those results into a win. If you call sunshine heights an average side then you are indirectly calling both west/north footscray average sides and this is far from the case. Those are the facts, so i suggest that you back up your posts with the facts in the future.

Yes couldn't agree with you more GB50, after all the different teams I have seen this year (Yes even North Footscray, West Footscray and Albanvale) I would still have to say that Sunshine Heights are by NO MEANS an average side. West Footscray:

Losing margins (nil)

North Footscray:

Smallest winning margins
- 13 points vs Coburg District
- 15 points vs Sunshine Heights

Losing margins
- 13 points vs Albanvale
- 30 points vs West Footscray

Sunshine Heights:

Smallest winning margins
- 49 points vs Wyndhamvale
- 64 points vs Albanvale

Losing margins
- 14 points vs West Footscray
- 15 ponts vs North Footscray

Does anyone have any comment on that?

RE: Umpires

I have a bit of experience with umpires and suspensions. I was involved in an altercation years ago with a few Seddon boys. During the game whilst these Seddon guys were simultaneously trying to rearrange the look of my 3KZ (that's "head" for the simple people out there) the ump ran in from the side and come right up to my face, I turned went to fend off (thinking it was Seddon bloke number 4) and touched him on the chest and then apologised. As he sent me off..he threw a line along the lines of "Careers over 43..enjoy the rest". In hindsight I should have belted him then and made it worth it (throw-away line for the record).

The Captain, the coach and the players who were having a crack at me from the opposition all agreed it was not intentional or deliberate or with malice. They even approached the umpire after the game and were prepared to attend the tribunal - but were UNALLOWED! Add to that the tribunal members thought the umpires evidence was not worthy (he was seriously whimpering in the hearing about rough play in the FDL and that he couldn't handle it) and even though they actually told us they didnt believe his evidence, they said "Sorry mate...we have no flexibility with the rule" and React sat out a full year...permiership winning year!

Strong stance is definitely needed and umpires should be protected...but there is always an exception to the rule and cases need to be dealt with on their merits. Particularly with such resounding evidence and first time ever at tribunal....

not that I'm bitter about it or anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes React! a strong stance needs to be made & yes sometimes (very rarely) there are exceptions to the rule but in the case we are all talking about from the weeken, there should be no exception...player deliberately made contact with the umpire.

I hope this players appeal is unsuccessful & he gets double his original sentence, then he will have plenty of time to think of ways as to how to avoid contact with the umpire considering he never gets near the ball anyway so he doesnt have to worry about making contact with that.

minimum means the least amount of time

- 49 points vs Wyndhamvale
- 64 points vs Albanvale

Losing margins
- 14 points vs West Footscray
- 15 ponts vs North Footscray

Does anyone have any comment on that?
If your comment is that statistics mean nothing and it's all about performance on the field, let's just take that as rote.

yer i will comment

west underfeated
heights 9 and 2
nth 9 and 2.........its as simple as that

winning margians, loosing magians u recon the coaches think about these things........i wouldnt think so.....the 4 points much more important....... to set themselves up at the end of the year........

Particularly with such resounding evidence and first time ever at tribunal....

not that I'm bitter about it or anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not happy jan..........:thumbsu:

Glad to see someone actually reads the rules, and uses them to back up their comments, rather than just shooting off thier mouths.....

To Nth Footscray fools..if you can read... read it. It says MINIMUM suspension for DELIBERATE contact with an umpire is 12 months.

If you cant work that out deliberate means, intentional
minimum means the least amount of time

so in context the i d i o t got what he deserved.

Thanks for that weapons, just when i thought you were a bit of a dill, you come good & prove me wrong!!!

hahahahaha its all good love.........got it from my umpire rule book ....lol

just clears things up.......i would think he deserves the punishment too.....

It's Friday, or 'footy-eve' as I like to call it, and once again I've left my tips very late. Clearly it wasn't because I needed a few extra days to consider the match-ups. I feel it's safe to say that this is going to be the most predictable and pedestrian round of football for the season.

The Magpies will feel the wrath of Deer park walking canes, no matter what Weapons says.

After cleverly postponing a meeting with the undefeated league leaders, Gladstone Park's reign at the top of the bottom will continue for another week. No, they won't win - in fact they may not even score - but they will continue to rest comfortably on their laurels in tenth spot after last week's shock win.

The Wyndhamvale yo-yos will in their attempt to keep the win-lose-win-lose pattern going against the odds. Heights will either beat the side that toppled Albanvale or destroy the side that rolled over and played dead against Gladstone Park.

In the one close match of the round, Braybrook will surprise North Sunshine with a three goal victory.

Albanvale will take the points against the Power, but again the score line will look nothing like round one.

Finally, North will thump Coburg by six to eight goals at least. Sorry Hammers.

Wasn't that exciting? :thumbsd::cool:

I hear that the case was thrown out in 5 minutes and Nth Footscray officials looked silly and carried on like school children hurling abuse from the other side of the room.

Anyway Heights are not happy with the umpire because at half time he said "don't worry fella's I will get you over the line today" and he didn't. I guess he tried hard though.

I have seen Derich play for 10 years and on the years he gets around with weight on him he hasn't been able to buy a kick. I don't think I would have a problem telling him to his face he was fat. I don't think it would be news to him. A good bloke though.

I'll throw a few statistics out there for those of you who put stock in numbers.

West Footscray:

Smallest winning margins
- 10 points vs Albanvale
- 14 points vs Sunshine Heights

Losing margins (nil)

North Footscray:

Smallest winning margins
- 13 points vs Coburg District
- 15 points vs Sunshine Heights

Losing margins
- 13 points vs Albanvale
- 30 points vs West Footscray

Sunshine Heights:

Smallest winning margins
- 49 points vs Wyndhamvale
- 64 points vs Albanvale

Losing margins
- 14 points vs West Footscray
- 15 ponts vs North Footscray

Does anyone have any comment on that?

i don't think these stats really mean much at all!!! b/c if they did Heights would be still undefeated. Hello HT,

Big game this week. The Devils were fortunate to beat you in round one and I know it is your past players day so there should be a fair crowd. You are always hard to beat at home so am expecting a close game. Is Heath playing? If so, please tell him not to stage for free kicks. He is a good enough player without having to resort to that carry on.

What about you HT? How is that trusty left foot of yours? I see you have been kicking a few as usual. We will have to make sure you are closely watched.

There have been some changes from last week's side. Dean Derich is playing his first senior game for the club. Don't listen to the SunshineHeights blokes about him being fat (he is after Bobby Skilton and Astro B.t..h by the way).

Houghy got away from us in round 1 so tell him not to expect the same again. Glad that Minty is no longer at Cumberland Rd. That little p...k always used to chop us up. Even if we tagged him and limited his possession rate, he would still kick his 3 or 4.

Hope your ground is OK! Let's face it. It's not exactly Telstra dome.

Good Luck

Is he after me because I said he was fat. He is get over it. If he is really after me tell him to meet me behind the shelter sheds. Who was the bloke from seddon number 4? how long ago was that?

Number 4 as in..amount of blokes having a crack...not number 4 as in his jumper number..sorry for the confusion champ.

I would say that the whole Devils/heights tribunal saga should be put to bed..good part about it for mine is, the umpire in question might have had a slight wake up call - as I posted earlier in the week, I reckon it is needed. GBF50 - don't bother having a crack at me for commenting on him again..I think this might be good thing the bloke and all concerned. Might diminish chances for any saga in future.

I notice a strong devils presence on here now...hope they dont delve into praising their own players and generally coming across as cocky like the heights boys...

as for Deano...if a bloke doesn't want to play Div1..I reckon full credit to him for saying it. Not point running people around and giving them false stories. To his credit the bloke trained for weeks, went trough the two's and obviously wants to play at the devils. If its not beyond this year then so be it..I'll say again... the club is transparent. Deano will know exactly what the coach etc think and expect.

TD - Have you done the ironing? - I hope you have club branded gear ready and sitting on the hanger ready to put on tomorrow or I'll be disappointed !!!!
By the way - I hear a strong rumor you flogged the boys the other night...

Remember though you can only appeal against the original brought forward charge so don't go changing the charge or you might be once again walking out of the tribunal with your tail between your legs after about 3 minutes. I don't think anyone is really bagging Dean as a person, he is a good bloke. He is fat at the moment and looked slow on the weekend.

In regards to players patting opponents on the back and helping him up my thoughts are that that is weak as p i s s and should be left for after the final siren. In my experience players only do that when playing against a good mate or when they are scared.

Dekkaroo, gimme your expert opinion on tomorrows clash between Nth and Coburg??

Well 3 Votes, just looking out the window this morning, it seem as thought the game is going to be played in wet and sloppy conditions.
I see this as a danger game for the devils, as we know that Coburg are always competetive at home regardless were they are possitioned on the ladder. It has also been noted that the club has orgainised a big day for their past players, which will give the current players a big boost.

Having said all this, if the devils play anything like they did against Heights, they should win and win quite convinsingly. It was great the see the boys run in numbers last week and have numbers around every contest. They moved the ball quickly and gave their forward every chance to kick goals.

Coburg have a good side that can take it right up to the oppostion at times, but seem to drop off when the pressure is right on. As good as coburg might be on the day, i cant see their forwards kicking a winning score against the defence of North. The devils defence i rate as top two in the competition and cant see them slipping up today.

So, 3 votes, I think the devils will spoil the party at Cummberland Rd today, the game is to important to them to let it slip!
