Yes we have heard it all before about your loyalty and mateship.
The only reason Sunshine Heights don't pay their players and never have is because the club doesn't have any money and can't and is mis managed in relation to money. Yes the players are loyal but only because they have to be and the club can't attract sponsers.. Either that or someone has a pokie addiction and spends all of your money.
Playing pokies...is that what you do in ur spare time idiot? maybe you should stop spending YOUR money on the pokies & use it to buy a clue..... because you are CLUELESS

The club is doing very well with sponsors dill. It was decided a while ago that we wouldn't go down the path of paying players as football is a lot more enjoyable without all that rubbish and also to show that sides can be sucessfull in A2 without it.
Pokie addiction in ridiculous, if you had of said greyhound addiction it might have been believable. As GB50 says pull your head in.

sides can be sucessfull in A2 without it (paying players).
Do you measure a successful season as losing the GF to a far superior side in West who pay good money to attract quality players. I wouldn't call that success. More like stupidity
Exactly as you said the best 18-24 players, if you havent realised that means that at least three of those players are going to be in the 2's. If you havent realised there are 21 that get picked each week for the 1s. So the difference to another big marking forward/backman compared with an extra midfielder for routations through the bench. you answered your own question didnt you react
No i didn't. Let me make it clearer for you.
Altona, Yarraville or Chirnside - I am saying, I bet you will field the same side for all of them and you could pick that now, if anything, very minimal changes and it wont be based on ground, it will be based on opposition match ups or injuries.
I was also saying that the rubbish about you need 3 weeks notice about venues to plan the above is a bit much in my view. Next you'll be talking your offensive structure, your internal processes and your key performance indicators and how to combat travel time between grounds...hahahaha reality check mate - its Division 2 WRFL local footy..dont get too clouded by it all mate.
Basic premise being, if you are any good in this comp. you'll get a game regardless of ground.

Big game this week between North and West footscray.
Does anything think North can pull off an upset?
After a weeks rest you would expect west to start off
slow and for North to get the early advantage. I think
North's greatest strength is their defence, and their ability
to prevent the opposition from kicking a high score. (North
have the least amount of points kicked against them with
770 for the season). This is paramount to their game as they
are ranked 4th out of the top 5 for points scored 1641 for the
season.
In saying this i think West should win this weekend.
I would much prefer their first loss to come in the finals.

:confused:what about if u make it to A1 TD, do u PAY players then. how would u attract players to the club to play A1, especially key position players ,you would need alot more depth in your side if u were to win the gf and to go up next year.======i couldnt see anyone coming to a club just for loyalty or a free beer after a game======it just doesnt work, IF u want to be successful atleast.

if we were to win the gf we would have to recruit some players to be competetive but we would be in as good as a position at least to altona a couple of years ago where we have a very young list that will continue to grow.
u also have to remember even with paying players the likes of altona and glenorden have still found it difficult to attract players when stepping up 2 first division

Be careful with word "quality". I dont think these well paid players would be seen as "quality" in Division One.
But didn't Bones (aka Mr Huff and Puff) get on the radio say they are spending only$40K
Or maybe West Footscray could spend this good money to attract good second division players on the following
a. better opposition rooms
b. a fence around the ground
c. new lights that light the entire ground instead of using miners hats
d. better facilities in general.
This might attract a better standard of player to West Footscray rather than throwing good coin around to win a second division flag!!!!!!!!! Good facilities would make it easier to entice "quality" players who might not then not ask for as much coin if the facilities were better.

Tips for this weeks round:
Albanvale will beat a gallant Deer park desperate to prove they will be more than just a make up the numbers team in the finals. Cobras by 15 points
Brunswick after threatening hard for the past month and a bit will get over the magpies still on high from last weeks victory by 60 points
Coburg will avenge last weeks thrashing by beating the wooden spooners gladdy by 100+
North Sunshine to just keep their finals hopes alive for another week by defeating the falcons by 5 goals
The dragons to beat the brookers by an emphatic 15 goals with jumping jimmy back to his best form of the past 2 years
and in the match of the round i think wests will beat the devils of north and win the red and white cup by 30 points. although the next fortnight will test the devils and quite possibly see them lose their double chance [B]IF[B] they lose this week and next against the cobras
Whats this i hear about my mate Ash "turtle neck" Lewis? It's doing the rounds that he was squibbing a few contests and was more worried about the foot steps coming than the actual contest.
Tell me it aint true Ash.

Abviously attracting good enough players to be undefeated and on the way to a Div 2 flag in 2007. No doubt they will find the 120K to be competetive next year.

Do you have an issue with Dave GBF? He has been quite open saying this will be his last year regardless of whether we win the flag or not. There will be 2 other retirements, and both these blokes are hacks anyway! West are under no illusion as to how difficult it would be in 1st division - remember they have been there before:rolleyes:. However we have 2 more H&A games plus finals to worry about before we start thinking of 1st Division.

Improving the facilities is definitely a council thing. Maybe the Council might be more helpful if West Footscray could throw a few bob in along with Council money to assist with facility improvements at Shorten instead of handing out envelopes out on a Saturday night.!!!!
The council would be fully aware West pay players so why would they spend money on facilities at Shorten when West Footscray FC are not prepared to chip in themselves to improve facilities, instead of buying players.
Maybe with your next application, throw a few grand in and things might happen. You will find that most clubs work in with their council rather than just expect the council to do it. I even heard of one club getting new clubrooms , the council provided the materials and the club provided the labour.
Maybe West might want to be proactive rather than blaming council for the state of their facilities. Better facilities will attract better players and l would suggest a lot cheaper as well. Then the football community might take your Division 1 aspirations seriously.

As an example of West contributing to improvements - you may have noticed some light poles laying down in the carpark. West purchased these and were going to buy the lights and pay for the installation, only for the council to reject it. This would allow the club to train on the full ground and not just the clubrooms wing, which now has f-all grass on it due to wear and tear.
Sorry GBF, until we sell the poles we will not have enough money for a toilet door.

Thanks TW.
Here's the way Guy Incognito sees it:
Albanvale will beat Deer Park convincingly in what's shaping up to be a good hit-out. No, I'm not contradicting myself: the contest will be tight, but Albanvale will do a far better job of putting the score on the board. Don't worry if you miss the show - there'll be a second screening in a fortnight.
Brunswick will finally live up to the potential that they've shown and win a game, albeit against the second-biggest joke in the league. This will place the wooden spoon firmly at the feat of the Magpies unless they can beat Wyndhamvale next week. I'm tipping not.
Gladstone Park will continue make the Magpies look like the second-biggest joke in the league - Districts to win by twenty goals, fourteen teeth and a mullet.:D
A bitter sweet victory by North Sunshine will remind them that they might have been playing in 'Round 18' if Deer Park's centre square didn’t look like interstate 35W.
Heights will beat Braybrook at Glengala road, just as they would anywhere else in the world, in a match that will hardly be a worthy finals lead-up for a team that's planning to make an appearance in the last game of the year. The question on everyone's lips is will the Dragons go ahead with the audacious plan of playing the second and forth quarters with everyone's shoes tied together.
Finally, West's canny coaching staff will realise that a win achieves nothing for them this week but a loss will guarantee that the dangerous Devils will meet the equally ominous Dragons in the first round of finals. As a result of this epiphany, Bones will rest his entire senior team giving them a chance to recover from the strenuous drive to Deer Park last week. North to pull off the upset by less than two goals.

Yeah your right about all the grounds being big i was hoping you wouldnt come up with that yourself, was thinking all along but we were half through an argument, couldnt go down that easy. All finals grounds will be good guess its just the individuals prerogative to want to know where they are playing, for me as long as i know the thursday before i am happy

Just to let, you know West even went and brought new lighting that would allow even night matches be played (sure ground still crap BUt good light allow a lot more competitive and structured training schedule), and even got electricians to put them up AND THE COUNCIL STILL CANNED IT, OH FOR THE RECORD IT WAS GOING TO COST THE COUNCIL $0, which is the same as what height pay all there players too! Congrats to West Footscray on the weekend. Way too good and the Devils will need to lift our game.
Critical time of the game was in the 2nd quarter, when we had the wind and to be fair, got smashed at the stoppages and with the run of West.
West lead by 43 points at half time. Intensity dropped in the 2nd half, but nevertheless we battled hard. Scoreboard was a little flattering, but we had the wind in the last quarter and we able to run the game out.
Thought some our older guys were best; Ian Allan, Dean Derich and Ross Hedley. Scott Eldridge, Ash Lewis and Adam Pacanowski tried hard.
For West though MJ, bald guy no.49, Evan Henry (8) and 19 were good. S.Lane and MCGie stood up when needed. Big guy 50 also did well.
We can definitely improve and have a few back this week. Bring on Albanvale.

I am not aware of this incident GB50. Laney is not averse to throwing the odd cheap one, but I didn't see anything. Maybe Dekka spotted something?
Didn't realise Bobby Skilton was at the game on Saturday. I did spot one Heights supporter wearing one of your trendy tops.
Even if lane did chuck a punch, he will get off at the tribunal like the way clarkey for Port Colts got off last year. The umpire took this into consideration and didnt bother. Money talks at the tribunal and i heard west have plenty.

You seem to like the "Trendy Tops"... You can buy one for $50. What colour do you want?

And poor old Brunswick nearly got their second win. They came so close.
It's a crack up listening to the radio after the games on a Saturday and hearing that Gary fella each week. But I must admit they just remain so positive each week. Good on the Brunswick boys - they have really come a long way this year.:thumbsu:

Goesbang or TD or anyone else from Sunshine Heights - how's the finals shaping up? Do you have most of your players back from injuries? Will the Heights boys be at full strength?
What about any West people? How are things looking down there in terms of injuries, at full strength?

Full strength for the Dragons (or as close to as possible). 1 injury on the weekend that looks likely to be long term and 1 other out out this week but should be back for week 1 of the finals.
No excuses from Dragonland

Maybe a few people are a bit scared to put their teams forward in case they get made to look silly.... It's easy to carry on in Jan/Feb/Mar but only those with TRUE confidence will keep doing it at this time of year.

Your right GB, pre-footy season and early into footy season bigfooty was the place to be. There were that many identities on here that I couldn't keep up. Now it seems to be the same loyal people (such as yourself) and a few others.

Should be practicly full strength for the first week all the injuries are back this week bar one who will play finals but on modified training (has had the injury/pain all year). He will be 100 % with some panadeine forte.
Can't wait til finals, everyone is jumping out of their skin at Heights, extra training, guest speakers a great feeling all round. Thanks to Nth and West for our 2 losses best thing that ever happened to us.
Should be interesting as I can't recall any sides going undefeated and winning the flag unless their home and away wins were compelling against the top teams. 2 to 5 goal wins against the top teams would have me nervous if I was a West person.

There was a nice fight in the Magoos between West and North, with the North Prez ,have the best of Patto for West.
Fight was the difference between a win and a lose for North, West kicked two easy goals while the fight was going on, in the end that was the diffrence between a win and a lose for North.

Sorry I thought I read it on a public forum. And yes it's boring and not funny. Have your fun but 4 times in a row is a real crack up, keep it up. Must be a good mate calling him a jib over and over. Maybe he can return the favour and call you a thief or pedophile or something as hilarious.
I won't tell you again pull your head in. Also I would like you to apologise for your behaviour.

Afternoon boys,
React wandered down to a dusty hardened clay field with a few patches of grass shoots that they call West Footscray !!!
Did see the two's blew and it was decent. Ended up with one West bloke sitting on the bench belted, dazed and still working out how to spell his name and another spraying water on his face trying to run the blood off it! They definitely disagreed on something but North in a unanimous decision. Quite right that it cost them the game though which after all the punches and crap - makes it a bit silly really.
Seniors - Good unit West. TD, Going undefeated might just be what they do. I Agree with Red Devils very accurate summary. Laney didnt belt any kid that I saw, had a wrestle crunched some packs etc but thats what a good forward should do. Finals are a different story but they are a very good unit.
On another note - I stood at the urinal at one stage, turned around and couldn't help but laugh at the now infamous missing dunny door! I think it was GBF50 that mentioned it a while back..had to laugh.
final not too far away..

Hey Saints.
How is Luke Keely going in a very low standard of football in the amatuers. I think it really showed his lack of committment which everyone knows he has none by going back to such a low level where he can rest a bit more on his banana lounge and indulge in his favourite past time eating dim sims at the South Melbourne market.
Do you think it would be ironic for someone to call someone turtle neck when they themselves have a reputation of lacking in the courage department themselves. I do. I think the above person is known as Luke 'Ironic' Keely.

In regards to Lane, theres a rumour that he once hit someone that was actually bigger than him and looking at him but can't find anyone to confirm this. So I guess we will just stick to knowing that he struts around like a tough guy due to his paintings but isn't fooling many because we all know he is soft as butter inside. He is actually known as Stephen 'coward' Lane. My information from someone who has played with him very very recently suggests that nothing much matters to him anyway as long as the individual awards come along he doesn't care what happens to the team.
I was most definetly at the game on Saturday taking down many notes. Didn't wear anything Heights like the others and kept down low. I am not really familiar to many so make a good spy. No 20 played very well. The loose man in the backline was a bit defencive to start the game but with your tactics of when you lose possession all your mid fielders running back into the backline helps it. On the bigger finals ground that tactic will be a lot harder to work I imagine.
Good luck to Nth and Albanvale this week, at least the loser knows they didn't deserve the double chance.

Interesting end to the ladder situation after West Footscray and Deer Park was called off last week. If West had beaten Deer Park by about 100 points then Deer Parks % would have been similar to Nth Sunshines thus the last round would have decided who made finals.
The topic seems to have been brushed under the carpet. Wouldn't be too happy if I were a Nth Sunshine person. The sus part is:
1. I can't recall in my 15 yrs of being involved in the wrfl a side ever refusing to play due to the ground condition.
2. The ground was good enough for the health of the under 18's and reserves.
3. The rest suits West who have many old players and nothing to gain ladder wise by playing except injuries.
4. The match ratio as discussed above helps Deer Park no end get a finals spot no matter the results of this weeks round.

Didn't start with a loose man in defence. 6 backs and 6 forwards. No.20 is Hayden Phillips who drops in the hole to take marks and cut off supply. He often backs himself against his opponent by running off and flying for marks.
We did butcher the ball so hopefully that will improve this week.

Didn't see you there Paul3232. Fair summary. North won the fight, West won the game. Disappointing outcome as it has cost us double chance.
West Footscray won the ressies game because Wests umpire watched them belt the North blokes all day. Until North had enough and got their revenge. My question is this, When there is a massive brawl that has gone on for three or for minutes and moved from the foward pocket to the wing and then the coaches almost punch on, Should the umpire bounce the ball and keep on with the game. Isn't there job to keep control of the game????
Or bounce it to three free west Footscray players and give them just enough time to kick the winning goals.
West Footscray the hole of the earth

He is going alright. He has no problem with courage, when its his time to go he goes. He is a big fan of those Dim Sims, they go alright. As for where hes playing footy he has gone to play with all his mates from school and try and get a flag. Gave up the money to go. It cant be that bad of a standard, South Districts pumped Nth Sunshine in the pre season with about 10 blokes out and they are fourth in your comp. Good comment dill.

This doesn't suprise me at all. I played against West in the reserves and their umpire was of poor standards. We had no problems with their players and there was no fight, but I can understand how their umpire can push some players to a level of frustration that in the end causes this fracas.

You say he goes alright others that have played with him are not of the same opinion. Would you think it is ironic for someone to call someone turtle neck when he is known for being a pea heart. I didn't make it up and judging by your reply deep down you know the truth of the matter. By the way Nth Sunshine are 6th and lose to all the top sides by over 100 points. Also Luke went back to south district because he is also known to lack committment and the lower standards and expectation suit him.
Anyway I don't believe I have seen an apology from you about your behaviour as yet.

Your right the lower commitment and expectations do suit him, as he has other things more important to worry about. Football is a hobbie, its not life or death. Who cares what others think, you have to relise with the WRFL alot of players are snipers who think they are tough and brave to hit someone while playing footy. Luke is no that kind of player and if that makes him soft then so be it.
And you wont get an aoplogy.

Now I suggest you apologise immediately.
