AND THATS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS ARROGANT
IMAGOOSE ... WHY DONT U REVEAL WHAT CLUB U SUPPORT?
WHOOPS LOOKS LIKE MY CAPS LOCK IS STUCK ON TOO :D
i would love to see two of the guns of the competetion play on eachtother in devlin and mallia as well as the veteran against the youngster scratcher on nicolaides in the middle would be awesome and eldridge and jumping jimmy weston battle it out on a flank if these were to eventuate it would make for an exciting afternoon.
Not Scratcher from North Footscray? He is older than my dad and arthritis is setting in to those weary old bones of his. His footy has seen better days and should try and get a gig with the puppetry of the penis crew next winter. He is taking up a young kids spot on the wing and is holding onto that insipid 1st division reputation he once had for Spotswood.

who and when was devlin drafted to?
did he play any games there?
Hey Typewriter, not sure if this is the same Devlin but there was a Stewart Devlin who was drafted to Geelong at no.5 in the 1990 draft. Although he played no games.

Tats, get fair dinkum pal... he would get a game at heights any day of the week. You can call him a dud, but I bet he has achieved a lot more through his career than most at heights.

By the way weapons when did UDL's come back in fashion. Probably have chico rolls in the canteen. lol
Why would Deer Park give Rob May the flick?
His win / loss record speaks for itself.
18/2 in 06 and 10/6 in 07.

At heights we achieve something every week we get to go out and play footy with our mates. Im not saying he isnt a gun but dont talk about achievements end of the day where all playing in the same comp. So what you did in the past means nothing.

I think every team go out and play for there mates, and thats where the passion builds up. u can go to a new club and gain the respect of others and a friendship in a short period of time, thats the nature of the game. Your achievements u gain in the past is where the respect for someone actually is and to mean nothing is crap.

had a look at training tonight gee it was of poor standard.........
i still think we can win its gotta be tight though....gotta hold em for i recon 3 1/4 and come out all guns blazing in the last.............just remember the cobra's had a tough game against good oposition last week which some people would say is a good thing but its finals time and winning is everything to both teams.....in saying that they might be a little wary of the occasion......
the other game............my honest opinion.........i think nth foots will win.......why????
i recon heights are overated......yer theve got a good home and away record which stands out above every 1 else exept west..........so the pressure is on.........watched last weeks game against deer park and i would say it was a good win for them to have before finals but it was lack luster.......yer they dominated the game but if i were a heights person i wouldnt have been happy with the result......why.....last time they beat d/p by 118 this time 80 something i would have been looking for a bigger margian than last time......yer we stacked the backline with a loosie and tried to keep the scoring to a minimum but good sides i mean serious premiership contenders would have wiped the floor with d/p on the weekend with the side that was in........last week no presure was aplied to them really from my point of view and they looked to be going through the motions a little from a pretty hard season.......look at west absolutely smacked nth sunshine........why are they overated cause they have a habbit of crashing out of finals series how many you ask i wouldnt know but they are predominately in the finals and havnt even got a sniff at the granny so that in itself is saying something...........yer they play with mates and all that mumble jumble but the question remains have they got what it takes under finals pressure............i say no
all you heights boys can have a crack at me for saying this which is fine and you might bring up stats that say otherwise...........this is my opinion nothing against you blokes............

[quote=DekkaRoo;8423053]Devlin is a great player and in my opinion if he was playing Div 1, he would be very handy.
If you are talking about the former Seddon Devlin, he was in thier best five or so when they were in Div one. Having said that they were way off the mark in relation to the rest of the comp. No doubt he was a good player at a higher levels years ago but age catches up with every one and at this stage of he's career I think he would struggle to be a "handy" player in Div one.
A little condescending there Obe1. Devlin wasn't at Seddon that long (half a season or a season and a half?) so not sure how many times you would have seen him play. I know Sunshine were chasing him and also heard Port Colts(?) when Seddon finished up.
Scott Kenny and Devlin were Seddon's best players and yes they are both over 30.

The Jedi is right. Arrogance is about having supreme confidence and not being afraid to show it. If you read books about how to be successful or hang out with Tony Robbins, I'm sure they won't call it arrogance but it's high on the priority list for the purpose of self-affirmation.
The only catch is that once you've talked about it, you've got to do it. I believe that this year's Heights team CAN do it, as is my prediction, but it will mean channelling the self-belief into a sterling performance on the field. (I just read that back and realised I am a complete w@nker sometimes. I should write a book.)
Speaking of predictions, Heights by five goals and Albanvale by ten.

i think that there is 1 major difference between heights 07 and heights 06, 05, 04 etc.
BELIEF the boys arnt just spruiking off, there is genuine beleif that a spot in division 1 is there for the taking. we all said it at the start of the year it as open as any year in recent history. wests rnt undefeatable as rnt heights or the devils or cobras on their day any of the top 4 could surprise and win over the other. thats y everybody will have different opinions and ppl from those 4 clubs should be confident in winning the premiership and there should be no excuses from any1 if they dont make it to the big dance.
Having said that i might contradict myself and choose an upset in deer park knocking over the cobras. if they have any heart at all they will come out all guns blazing and attack. dont bother wasting dipper and marty on the full back line and try to save face like they did on the weekend come out and attack.
in the other game i think heights will take the points and meet wests for a chance to move straight into the granny.
people not playing anybody going to watch the game sthis week?
[quote=red devil1;8430539]wonder whats obe 1 playing background is?
Obe1's background was - Started playing footy at 17 in a team that got flogged week in week out. Continued on in the senior team as a second year juinor and still got flogged. Had two years with Weapons mob back when Tony Philpott and jumping Jack Miechec were coaching then back to were it all began. 270 games of ordinary footy from an ordinary bloke. Unlike yourself Darren it pales into insignificence, dosn't it. If only you had to be a star to have an opinion.

Not my intention to pot the bloke at all, quite the oppisite. Like I said he was in Seddons best and was no doubt a good player in his day. My remarks related to how "handy" he would be in First Division today? not last year or the year before or the year before that. No doubt he would kick a kick or two but for clubs going forward I feel youth would be a better alternative.

Not wanting to have a crack at you weapons but don't you think "a loosie" is quite an understatement. Standing behind the goals in the last quarter, there was your full back man on man with Greto and 3 players by themselves in front of him. Plus the big bald guy always dropping back as well. That is no understatment. With out all those defenders there I think the margin would of been a lot worse than last time.

Sunshine Heights had a fantastic win in the seniors today due to a very hard attack on the ball and some unbelievable skills in sometimes trying conditions. I thought M Caruana was heights BOG, he didnt stop running all day and made any north player around him earn posessions. Great to see Robbie Gretto kick the hundred goals, first time in Heights History. He was a very good target today as was M Roberson. The only dissapointing aspect of the actual game was some ordinary umpiring decisions made by the one umpire, the dill with dark hair was poor all day and tried to ruin a good game of footy. His decisions were a disgrace (without favouring either side) and he should not be umpiring finals footy. Resies were a bit off game today, couldnt hold a mark but im sure this will change for next week and they will have a big win.

Good win by Heights today.
Congrats Robbie Greto first player in Heights history to kick 100. Played a blinder too, amazing what difference one against one does. Kicked 7 in 3 quarters.
Played 55 minutes with a man short with 3 send offs. Best for Heights were the 2 Caruana's, Greto and Steven Nicholaides.
Umpire SCORDO is a ######## disgrace. He should not umpire another game of football. He doesn't just make bad decisions all his decisions are based on personality and thinking the game is about him. Two send offs, one for attempting to tackle by swinging the arm out as the player got past him. Missed by a foot. Another for spitting on the ground. Didn't know that was a report. Borgy if you read this tell that #### to #### off and not umpire ever again. Worst display of umpiring ever. The other young umpire Adam someone was good all day, well done to him.
Can't wait for next week to play West Footscray, been looking forward to this game for a long time. As soon as the siren went everyone was talking about how much we can't wait til next week.

Golly Golly Gosh...... Tats!!!!!! You were given a bath today buddy. I reckon you had 5 kicks and 3 of them in junk time in the last. I'll give you credit that you ran all day but you had NO ball awareness and your vision was POOR.
NOTICE TO SUNSHINE HEIGHTS 2nd's PLAYERS. STOP thinking that kicking to Faisel EVERY single time you enter the 50 that you will in games. WONT HAPPEN. He kicked 2 goals today not from him working hard and presenting but from silly mistakes from West's players giving away 50 metre penalty's while the ball was in his hands, other than that didn't get a touch all day.
Saw the first quater of the 1's. Greto's snap goal in the pouring rain from 50 is one of the best goals I have seen in local footy. Also sorry to inform all you uneducated Heights people but the league has calculated that Greto had only kicked 89 goals prior to this weeks round so better luck next week Greto. You will get it and it is a super effort but claiming it before doing it is poor form from the club. First bloke that was sent off in the first qtr should get 3 weeks at least. DOG effort.

DOG effort.
yes greto`s goal was a beauty from 50 :thumbsu: which was also his 100th for the year you fool...!!!! it stopped the rain and parted the clouds that goal did .... great to see "WESTO" has finally came back from germany today:p

Absolute GOOSE.
Round 4 v Coburg. Heights kicked 24 Goals. League Web site has Greto with 2... He actually kicked 11. Check the game results and add up all the goals... they add up to 15... where are the missing 9.
You are a low life dog. Bloke doesn't something special like kicking a ton and u post that crap.:thumbsd::thumbsd:
Doesnt matter what heights say. The league had him at 89 offically. Next week maybe.

A few thoughts on the game yesterday:
Heights too quick
Heights too fit
Scordo is a CLOWN
Devlin is a sheep dog.
Williams is a sheep dog
Maczohan is a honest battler who got LUCKY earlier in the year
Greto is a STAR
Cougar Man Hedley is a FREAK. Respect from the Dragons
M Caruana hits harder than anyone else in the comp (ask scratcher)
The devils have a number of TURTLES. Alleyes is NOT one of them. Played a solid game and didn't shirk it.
Elldridge is in the top 10 in the comp for ability
Phillips may be a better player than MATT CAMA... but Cama demolished him in the first qtr

I was at the game yesterday between Heights and North and I would have to agree with the bad umpiring. I watched a guy from North practically strangle a player from Heights who had the ball and no free kick was given. Just a joke really. And giving a send off to someone for spitting on the ground - that is even worse. I have seen many people spit on the ground in my time and have never known anyone to get a send off for it. Anyway...
This Melbourne weather is an absolute joke (nearly as bad as the umpiring). A beautiful sunny day one minute then pouring rain.
Well done to Sunshine Heights for their win yesterday. I am sure that without those two send offs they would have doubled their winning score. I have said this all along and out of all the teams I have seen they are by far the fittest, hardest and best running side.
Next week will be interesting between West Footscray and Sunshine Heights. Does anyone know where it will be played and what day?
Congratulations to Greto for kicking his 100 goals - the atmosphere when he did so was great and that is a real milestone. Well done! To the tool (Big momma) who thinks that he knows it all, I'm afraid you sound like the 'uneducated one'.
Should be an interesting one today between Deer Park and Allbanvale, but I think Albanvale will win it. -Sorry Weapons. No doubt you'll be there supporting today with one or ten 'froffies' -lol.

Best and Fairest at Heights Mallia with a club record 215, smashing the old record by about 60. Polled in the top 6 players 44 out of a possible 45 times which is astounding. Well done. Michael Nicholaides second on 179 and Robbie third.
SCORDO is the worst umpire in WRFL history. Crazy Monkey the incident you speak of was Westo got bumped then grabbed around the thoat then when he pushed the player back SCORDO turned a boundary throw in into a free and a 50 metre all in one. Unbelievable. That was after he gave a free 30 metres out in the first minute against Westo from 60 metres away because he had the outside of his forearm on the forward as most backmen do saying he was holding. Could go on all day about him. He may have beaten his 20 plus 50 mtres from the week before. Ruined a good game of football.

Heights reserves will have to improve on the game they played yesterday but I feel they have the players capable of lifting when backs are to the wall, enough for them to get over the line against what will be tough opposition.

Watched the Heightsv North game Saturday and liked what I saw from Heights in regard to their leg speed and hardness at the ball.North wasted a lot forward and really struggled setting up anything in the forward line.
Only downside I saw was the constant bickering of Heights players toward umpire decisions - both field and goal umpires - regardless of your opinions of the Umpires - your performance in finals will not be helped if you continue to antagonise these guys and ultimately may cost you.
Should be a good game v West's this week

As soon as the siren went everyone was talking about how much we can't wait til next week.
i couldn't make it to the game on saturday, but congrat's on the W and to Robbie, a well deserve 100!! i heard that Mallia got reported is that true, also heard not much in it but also heard that was his second send -off for the game? If thats true, thats an automatic 1 week suspension isn't it just for being sent off? Even if you get off the reports? Hope not, looking forward for a ripper of a game next week, will make for some very good viewing :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

No. People seem to think that but it is not true. The rule is you are RED carded and not allowed back on after send off number 2. Nick is not under suspension at the moment. He has 2 charges to face tomorrow night. (very soft charges too)
Anyone else at the game agree that the goal Greto kicked to notch the TON was an absolute CRACKER? As good a goal as you will see anywhere!!

HI guys ,
Dont usually get on here but have to laugh at the comments about Joe Scordo.
He umpired Yarra v StAlbans last week and was a disgrace. Should be umpiring u/10 football and whats worse is that he gets a final the week after. Surely the umpires need to be made accountable to someone for their poor performances. He has been terrible all year, but keeps on getting senior A grade, now B grade finals...Disgraceful.
Why does the leagu spend a little more money on the umpires, pay them more on game day so we cn attract some quality instead of the trash we get on a saturday like Scordo. I hope he reads this...
ANy other news from Div 2 as the season ends, which clubs looking to pick up and which clubs looking for new coaches... Must be some changes at the lower clubs to try to become competitive....

umpires have a tough job to do each week and it is a thankless job, they can have bad days and make mistakes just like players do and we have to try to respect them as they are trying their best but scordo is an exception
he is a disgrace and shouldn't umpire at all in my opinion, i know it's a big call as we are low on umpire numbers but everyone seems to have the same opinion of this bloke

Agree with that... very hard job and people will always have different opinions on a decision. The problem with Scordo isn't that he makes mistakes on decisions because he doesn't know the rules it's that he feels he needs to impose himself on the game.
On Sat there were 8 free kicks paid in the first 4 minutes (6 by Scordo).... Maybe 2 were reasonable. He also has a habit of making decisions when he is not the umpire in charge. I am sure we all have images in our heads of him charging in from 50 or 60 metres away blowing his whistle when the other umpire is right on the spot.

54 free kicks in a half of football? UN ****ING BELIEVABLE.
They need to stop calling everything. Let the play go. Call the obvious free kicks or the free kicks that put a player at a huge disadvantage. How the hell can they justify calling that many in half a game, let alone a whole game?
