Ando a good chance to stay at the bombers. coatsworth undecided about next year due to whether his misses goes back to play at pyramid, so still could be a half a chance to play back at pyramid. they have also got another 4 or 5 comin from melb, one being a centre half forward and another will play in the middle, both very handy pick ups!! birchmore only player to offically leave so signs very good for the hill in 08.

Newbridge may at the end of the season have been a mess, there where girls that weren't even talking to each other I had heard, however, I do believe they where good enough to be in the grand final they played well all season. How many A graders have newbridge lost? and is it true that the whole of the Poole family who have been there for what 10 years left the club? whats the do there??????

[quote=youngcitychick;9326096][quote=FlyingDucks;9321192]
So youngcitychick ... I see that things must've gone quiet at work?? It's the only time you ever write bull sh*t comments to stir things up and create some excitement in your life.
First of all, the reality of coaching senior sport is this: you're trying to win as many games as possible. How do you keep 35 girls vying for 21 positions happy? it is impossible, especially when they are women. There is no way you can comment on anything to do with her training or her methods of coacing this year, you simply weren't there and even if you are hearing it from others, its second hand and they are abviously the ones that didn't quite make the cut.
Yes, Michelle and Jeanette's coaching is very different to anything else I have experienced but if you had any idea about what they were trying to achieve, which you clearly don't, you would realise that Newbridge was one of the only senior netball sides that could run out 4 quarters with top notch skill level.
On the netball trip, there were 4 people vs the rest of the girls. Not half and half. we had 26/35 girls go on the trip, does that sound like a group of girls that don't get on?? The boys had 25 on their trip out of many more blokes and no one is sledging them for being divided. Stop trying to cause conflict by saying inaccurate and 2nd hand bodgy info. Get it right!
I can't speak on behalf of the c grade girls or their coach but you're obviously exaggerating, no coach tells their girls that, especailly to your young herd. But if there was any malice in what they were doing, it is innappropriate and unnacceptable and is not condoned out at the Bridge.
In all honesty, youngcitychick, I think you need to take a back seat for a change on the happenings out at newbridge. You have no idea what goes on in house, you are not a part of our club. To you, this is about sledging newbridge and not about finding out things to benefit your club, which it should be. All you do on big footy is abuse the system and you need to get your facts straight and stop trying to make our club out to be something it is not. We do not judge the perfect and magical land known as YCW so you should not judge ours in the harsh way that you do. You seem to have all the coaching knowledge under the sun, maybe you should take up a coaching role and voice your unwanted opinion then.
Find a new topic and stop obsessing over the trivial things, worry about your own backyard and the quality coaching at your joint. Now lets get back to the real topic.
Why can't people be honest I am very good friends with a A grade player for newbridge and she has told me that at the start of the season when there was 30 odd girls veeing for 21 stops is when the team was the closest, it was when people who are high up the "social" ladder became typically females and like my name sake gossiped and back bit people instead of just playing or coaching the game and leaving the rest on the court! And as for the netball trip it was it was as bad as they say, as for the pcd's, jjjjoooookkkkkeeee!!!!

Nice to see that the panthers are getting new players to the club no matter what the club you don't like seeing any in the league struggle aka Inglewood. The LVL is the best league out of bfl and hfl, I've played for all and the lvl wins hands down, it has a great sense of sportsmanship and is a great family orienated league.

The standard of all leagues in the region have dropped considerably since the early to mid 90's...ESPECIALLY THE BFL.
Think about the BFL premiership teams of the early 90's like Castlemaine who had all these players who had played AFL or would go on to play AFL such as:
Oliver, Kavanagh, Starbuck, Culpitt...and that is just from one team!
If you put a team like that against Eaglehawk's team this year they would absolutely SMASH THEM!
So I wouldn't go trumpeting the BFL...at the moment it is a disgrace for the "premier league" of the region.
In addition to this point are the crowds: you can always tell the state of a league by the crowds you get to a Grand Final.
Once again, I can remember the Castlemaine V Golden Square GF in the early 90's and it was absolutely packed, you would have to get to the ground at 9am to ensure a spot on the fence.
Compare that to most crowds over the last 10 years...probably twice the attendance.
Much improvement is needed for the BFL before people come on here slagging the LVFL.
Totally agree that people from the B.F.L should not be putting down LVFL as it is arrogant and disrespectful however There is no way that Castlemaine 92 would thrash Eaglehawk 2007. It would be a good game with the margin being 2-3 goals either way. If you watched both Grand Finals you would know that Golden Square was unlucky and Eaglehawk of 2007 was clearly a better team than Golden Square of that year.

Alot of unhappy senior netballers by half year at Newbie, at least 10 that i can name as definites to make a move to greener pastures, and alot of them are local girls.
Players the likes of Anne Louise Dillion (Chilvers) were in B-grade, (What a joke, she is an A-grade B&F for the league), also saw her playing for South Bendigo A-grade on the same day she played B's at Newbie, asked her why she was doing that and she said she couldn't get a game in A's at Newbie, coach didnt rate her!!!
If they go the boyfriends follow, look out for some huge movement at Newbridge in the footy. They had better get there cheque books out and sign a footy coach asap.
NO confidence in the coach = no confidence on the field
Well, If you can name 10 players that were unhappy at half year, be my guest. The only players that were unhappy were the ones that overrate their importance in the side. The others, that is, the majority, were having a great year, with much success on and off the field. You should ask every member of the netball commitee and players and you'll find out some harsh but realistic information about Anne-louise's playing ability. We cannot hold on to past successes and achievements, we must look at her contribution to the team now and it was definitely not enough to gain a spot in the starting 7. If you need to pull out the fact that she's playing A grade at south bendigo, you are really scraping the barrel, just a quick question, where did South finish this year?
Also, no confidence in the coach? Look where she got us? playing off in grand final!! No one was capable of beating pyramid hill this year, they are a star-studded team and the newbridge girls are not bitter about their loss, in fact, they are thrilled with their ability to reach that far considering their last years' efforts. I think you need to do a bit more research before you go mouthing off about this united team!
That's a big statement saying that the girls that where unhappy only rated themselves, what's wrong with a bit of confidence, and from what I seen last year there where A grader player for newie who didn't really make an inpact either:rolleyes:

Not completly sure I know there where a few girls that had bad blood and held grudges but who are we kidding netball is so a bitchy sport. A few girls went back into town due to work and boyfriend commitments, the rest not sure they have lost anywhere b/w 10-15 players big numbers, as for the footy players they are worse then the girls have big ego's not sure what the go is, hopefully they can bring back harmony to the club maybe it's just end of an era if you know what I mean. I agree that the LVFL should have an interleague match and seem there is so much banta with the HFL that they are the obvious choice and we can find out once and for all who is the better league:thumbsu:
(Which of course will be the LVFL!!!)

Was nice of him to tell us (Echuca Utd.) , Surely Steve has more footy in him than one year ! Pete Did get rubbed out for punching a nathalia player . He was resposible for one punch out of about 200 thrown and yet he was the only player reported in an all in brawl . I believe he has changed it just seems that peoples opinions don't !

Bomber08 .... u must be very confident. From what I saw during the 07 finals series it would be a line ball.
On the Marong scene how are their footy prospects shaping up for 2008 ?

I think that will actually help the situation . I think at the moment I think Laurie is sharing the duties so that Pete can come back to the Cook and kids . I'm thinking that this scenario could continue so that Pete can play at the hill . I must say that I would much rather him play at united though . he still owes us 8 games from last year .

Marong will be far more competitive this season. Freddo has focused on player retention, and adding depth to the list. Brad McCormick is the only key loss at this stage but the club is hopeful he will return from OS in time to qualify for finals. There have been good numbers on the track and with the Maryborough night series and another practice match lined up, fitness should be vastly improved. Without getting carried away, we would expect to play finals this year.

Sounds like marong is in buisness, good to see they needed someone to focus on the players. Well done Freddo, and good luck with the season.:thumbsu:

Looks like Trev had a good Christmas, He must weigh all of 70kg's now.
Where do you think Trev should play gerta. He does get pushed around a little to easy for dominant/key positions.

How does everyone think Newbridge will go this season. I think they'll struggle. There must be some serious doubts after what happened in the finals last year and now losing some good players.
