Mark Maclure in an article in today's Hearld Sun has rejected an offer too join the Carlton board, his reason was the board and the president lack a plan and direction to go forward and i don't blame him. I have my doubts on Graham Smorgon i just don't believe he is the person to lead Carlton out of this mess. Carlton seem too keep on making the wrong decisions we must get the right people too move forward.

Smorgan has only been in the job for 5 minutes.........lets give the bloke the benefit of the doubt before we label him a dud.
If that is Maclure's reasoning, that is :D:D:D:D poor............how about joining the board and help get a plan devised then! Sounds to me that he doesn't want to do the hard yards, but would be willing to jump on board if everythign was smooth sailing.

Er yeah. Let's see if I got this straight...
The board's all wrong, but he doesn't have any alternatives, and he can't be fagged finding them. About right?
Agree with both of you that posted above me.
While I agree with his comments that yes maybe we don't have a plan but that is the reason why they wanted him on board - to help formulate one!!!
So he'd only join the board if there was a good plan in place and then join and take credit for the others' work, what good is that?
Pretty poor in my opinion.
Fair enough. If he's willing to say that the board don't have a plan, why not put your hand up and help out the club. Surely that's better than sitting on your hands and doing nothing.

Precisely.
It's all good and well criticising the club for not doing anything, how about stepping up and helping out?? That's the reason he was asked in the first place!
Maybe he thinks the current board are a bunch of f-wits and doesn't want to be associated with them?? He wouldn't be the alone there, but most people won't say those sort of things on radio.
If that's not the case then we don't need more :D:D:D:Dweak people on the board anyway..
