View Full Version : Jacob McGuane
I follow GFL and I have been watching this 18 yr old kid McGuane and have been amazed at just how much he is dominating in his first year in this senior competition. He is a strong marking forward who has also been playing a strong role down back when required for the Colac Tigers this season. Kicked 7 a couple of weeks ago and his never give up attitude is to be commended.
Geelong seem to be missing that tall marking forward....is there any chance this kid would be looked at by our recruiters? (anything is worth a try at the moment isn't it!!).

Im from colac, and know jacob personally, yes he is a good player, but what his problem is that he is 188cm-190cm.. can remember exactly, but his problem was that he wasn;t quite big enough to make it as a CHF, but too big and slow to be a flanker or pocket. so thats the reason he wasn;t drafted.. not a valuable option, tried out for Box HIll seniors, they didn't want him either. He isn;t good enough, so yeah.. but anyways we have hawkins coming next year anyways :-D oh and i heard him one day saying he didn;t wanna play for geelong... " there all show ponies "
Was always a hard worker with fine hands, but didn't have much else going for him. In this day and age, you'd need to; moreso when you aren't particularly blessed athletically.

He never did try out for Box Hill, never even trained with them. I'm not even from Colac or know the kid 'personally' and I know that information!!
