South Africans in a bit of trouble:

84/5, Rhodes 25*, Pollock 1*

Anyone know why Dippenaar isn't playing? Might have to change my fantasy team!

u'd think if he was fit he would be playing so he's either rested or injured most likely

I'd say Dippenaar is just being rested because they want to give the new players like Rhodes etc practice games before the actual series.

Proteas now 6/173

Lehmann just picked up the wicket of Rhodes for 69.

Klusener just come in to join Pollock who is on 45.

Dizzy Gillespie's opening spell must have a beauty 7 overs 1/8.

How on earth did Jason miss out on the main squad?

To think that we will go in with two gumbies and have a world class bowler like Dizzy playing meaningless games

He missed the last 2 Tests through injury, and these 'A' games were to test his fitness. He'll come back into the squad.

South Africa 9/215 after 50 overs

BTW, Australian team playing tomorrow:
Gilchrist, M.Waugh, Ponting, Bevan, S.Waugh, Martyn, Harvey, Warne, Lee, Williams, McGrath, Symonds (12th man)

He did have a fitness test during the last test, which he passed.

Cheers

Hayden missing out is the only real suprise but it doesn't mean much because they rotate the squad anyway so everyone will play their share of games.

Personally i would have played Symonds ahead of Williams, i think team balance requires another batting allrounder.

Gee i hope Bing and Brad Williams get it right because if not we might see a world record score.

Cheers

What about Allan Donald? Is he being rested or isn't he playing in these 1 dayers?

Australia A won by 5 wickets acheiving the target on the first ball of the final over.

Jimmy Maher top scored with 94
Darren Lehmann then with 41
Ryan Campbell and Mike Hussey chipped in at the end with 20 and 25 respectively. Campbell's 20 from 16 balls.

Best of the bowlers was probably Kallis 2/45.

Maybe the Australian prime team should play the 'A' team a couple of times in the next cricket season. That would be worth a look.

that thing is happening at the momment in India where the Indian team are playing matches against India 'A' and India 'B'.

However there is no Tendulkar in the senior Indian team and Kumble is captain of the B side I think.
