Gday to all you QLD'ers. Thought I'd start up the QLD'er thread! I wasnt much of an AFL fan (supported the Bears when they were the Bears) moved to Melbourne in 96. 97 I met the friend (who I still keep in contact) who got me barricking the roos and I have never looked back. Live back in QLD but my love for my roos is still strong.

I'm on the Coast too. Who's up for watching a game as a group ala the WA Roos?

Pity the Roos don't play in Qld this year & I hope we choose Canberra over Carrara.
We seemed to have a fair bit of support when we beat Brisbane last year.
If Arch has a last game and it isn't a final (hopefully Grand Final) then I would be up for get together to cheer the might Roos.

G'day viccles and other Qld roos. Yep - I'm another lost ex-Victorian living up here. Been here since 2001, so got to be there in Melbourne for all the great years in the 90s.
Good to see a bit of support for the Roos around town. Mixed feelings on the Carrara issue, as it would be tempting to see more of our boys live. But that might be a good topic to debate over a few beers while watching a game somewhere?

Awesome idea Sutcliffe's! If it is announced that it is Archer's last game for the year, then it would be great to watch it with fellow Roos supporters who will appreciate the significance of the event. :thumbsu:

It looks like the Cold Ghost is back in the mix.
Do any of you really think that there is a chance that people up here will learn to love North Melbourne?
I went to most of our Sydney home games & was willing to believe that the experiment would come good, but the vacant stands told the tale. Sydney were never going to take to their hearts a team that had just beaten them in a Grand Final. And that game for Archers 200th was the most exciting I have been too, apart form finals.
Been to most of the Maunka games (sadly not this week - but thrilled we are on TV - so for the first time this year I get to watch the mighty Shinboners strutt their stuff) - and there is a growing sense of the locals loving the Roos. A couple of my mates are signed, sealed and delivered members. That is why I am so disappointed that we may take off again.
But for the life of me I cannot believe that there is a latent group of locals or ex-Victorians just dying to embrace the royal blue and white.
I just hope that our Kangaroo Caravan finally finds a permanent site for the three games we are offering outside of Melbourne.

G'day from Townsville. Moved back up here last year after living in Melbourne and barracking for the NMFC for EVER. A long time just let me say. Still a member.
Managed to get to see OUR boys live twice last year and 3 times (3rd time this weekend yahoo) so far this year thanks to el cheapo flights. Thank heavens for fox footy and a much improved coverage on free to air. Trust me, way back it was a shocker. Just about one game of whoever and usually late at night. It would be worth the hard earned to fly to wherever Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrccccccccccccccch would be playing his last game. Hope we get plenty of warning.
Any AFL fans I know up here all barrack for other teams so if you guys know of any Roo supporters here tell em to get on to BigFooty and say "Hi". I know there is a Qld supporters group based in Brisbane - went there for breakky with some of our guys last year after we BEAT the lions at the Gabba. Hopefully we'll get a game there next year. :)
