Do you agree with the rotation system?

With the VB series about to begin I thought i would ask the question of whether you agree with rotating the squad.

Personally I think that it is a good idea to keep everyone match hardened in case they have to be called on in the finals.

The negative is players like Hayden that are in such great form are unable to get match play and as a consequence perhaps it is possible that they will lose their form.

I think it's a great idea. Not only does it rest players, but it allows the testing of fringe players. This side is so strong that such testing is unlikely to lose matches and on the upside, we get to see who can cut it and who can't.

I think we are so lucky here in Australia to have so many quality players to choose from. I think it's good that all players are given the opportunity to show what they can do, and that can only be a good thing as you never know, they may be needed in a much more important match like the semi final or final of the World Cup!!

I am also a fan of the "horses for courses" policy as well, like playing 2 spinners on a turning pitch, or 3 fast bowlers on a bouncy pitch, depending on the opposition.

I think it was good to have the rotation system in playlast season, because it didn't really matter who lplayed.

A district thirds team wouldv'e won last season.

But South Africa and New Zealand are quality sides, even though thye might not have shown it against Australia A, and I think we'll need a more settled side if we are to win the series.

I can't see any negatives associated with rotation, if the playing depth is good enough for the side to still win.

As has been mentioned already, it gives fringe players a chance to show what they are capable of, it rests senior players, and it's good for the fans to see some new faces without losing too much in the quality stakes.

Best of all, it eliminates the stupidity of having Australia A competing against Australia and players swapping teams during the tournament.

I think its great at the moment with an extra all rounder (Symonds), batsmen (Hayden) and bowler (Bichel), but if there were 2 or more spare for each catorgary it would start to effect the flow of the side and could effect the form of the players.

I still don't understand why they canned it.... Was it just media hype getting the better of weak selectors?

Surely with the depth of talent and the need to introduce young players into the ODI team the rotation system is the best way.

Also, with the amount of cricket played these days it gives players the chance to rest and should reduce the amount of injuries.

The only situation when we really need our best team out on the park is during the world cup. All other ODIs are meaningless.
