i turned on SEN when they were talking about geelong, and i heard " i hear he is more motivated this year, because he wasn;t getting a game due to injury and he has had to really earn his spot "
were they talking about nablett???
what else did they say about him?? im very interested to know
With those ins we look a bit top heavy, dont we need to include a bit more pace because of the west coast midfield

Like the ins of Callan and Blake.
Don't like the out of Playfair. Although he has been rubbish of late, we always play poor when he aint there.

Watch us struggle at CHF. Just like we have every other time H hasn't played there for the past 2 years.

H for Harley late change?
That'll probably happen. Harley's never right. There's no-one to present up the ground now. H could take those strong marks, but without him and dare I say it, Gardiner, there is no one.

Must disagree, Milburn should only be put forward when we are absolutely rolling. In these times of urgency he must be back, or at least a defensive midfielder.
I'd like to see Ling tried at CHF, mix it up a little, at this stage I wouldn't play NA anywhere but inside the goal square, leading hard.

forgot to mention - leading hard and being honoured!!!! his BB being the exception.

I think you missed the smilie :)
Milburn to CHF is Bomber's signature move when we are breaking down across half forward. It worked in the wizz fizz v. Freo so he has started him at CHF a couple of times and it has been a complete failure but he still does it practically every game :thumbsd:

If Harley pulls out of this game, I honestly think he will and should retire at the end of the year...
It will be further proof that his body isn't upto it...

Got it now Unwritten.
It sometimes greatly puzzles me that things we see as obvious are not reflected by the coaching brains trust. People will say "oh we don't know the inner sanctum info" etc. but screw that, I haven't missed a minute of GFC action whether on TV or live for 10 years and feel that some of the moves we make or fail to make are a :D:D:D:Ding joke!

Since round 1 2005 (notable because of Ben Graham’s absence from CHF and Playfair taking his place), Geelong has won 16 of 33 games (48%).
Of those 33 games, Henry has missed 8 games. Geelong won 3 of those 8 games (38%).
Of the games Henry played (25), Geelong won 14 (56%).
So overall, Geelong’s winning percentage has been 48%. When Henry has played it has been 56%. When Henry hasn’t played it’s 38%.
Hmm… coincidence…???
I don’t know the statistical significance of this. Nor have I tried it for other players. Just found it interesting.

Only 48%, and we are supposed to be one of the best teams in the AFL!!

Not suprising. Graham was much more important than many people made him out to be....
I would say Callan.
He's been 'earning' a spot in the seniors for awhile now, regardless of injuries around the club. His form has long warranted selection.
If the club are serious, they'll give him a decent run one of these days.

kingsley out is the best news i've heard all day! bomber has finally come to his senses! happy with the inclusion of nablett - 4 goals against WC last year if i recall correctly.....

Mixed news there - good to see some big ins and outs, but Playfair out with seemingly no replacement could be a problem. Maybe it's time for Mooney to try and shine at CHF? Not really sure who they will put there.
Hope to see NA carve the toast a new one ala Round 21 last year.

Yeah, I wouldn't have dropped Playfair - I didn't think he was that bad last week. At least he kept presenting unlike our alleged full-forward. I'm very happy with the inclusions however. What they must do though, is formulate a forward line setup and keep it in place for a while. The Collingwood game they were switching Ottens in and out every 5 minutes - how about leaving him there for a while?
N.Ablett leading from the square, Ottens staying deep, Mooney to play CHF and throw his weight around. Most importantly, when they get the bloody thing - we've got two 6 foot 5 forwards - get it in quick.
All 5 father/sons playing this week too.

Doesn't matter who plays CHF, they'll just chip it wide anyway.
RE: SEN, they were talking about Nathan. They were saying that he's been good in the VFL of late and deserves his spot in the team, has made massive improvements this year and understands he has to earn his spot in the seniors.

How many for playfair and kent
I know that it all depends on how the current players playing in the forward line go.
but how many touchs mark goals or what ever do playfair and kingsley need to get to get back in the afl side?

Re: How many for playfair and kent
Now that they've been dropped, they need to spend a few weeks there IMO, regardless of their form. Then they need to show some consistent form there (not just a big bag one week). Doesn't matter whether their replacements do any good or not, they have to be given at least a couple of weeks in the twos for the long term benefit of them and the club. Rushing them back if Nathan doesn't perform, or if one of them bags six this week would make it all a pretty pointless exercise.*
going on the form of this coachin staff it'll be one week then back in. i have really failed to understand the trend of bringin in players fer one game, then they're out again - makes absolutely no sense.
