View Full Version : Anyone See the Alltime World Rankings?

I saw that they did alltime test rankings, I assume recently, using the same process that they give the present rankings.

I was just wondering if anyone had seen the full results, I saw the top 8's of both & it was a bit controversial.

Garner was the number 1 bowler, Barnes 2nd, Hadlee & Imran were up there as was Murali but no Warne & I don't think Lillee was there either.

For the batting Bradman was 1st but not by many points which surprised me, then Hutton, Hobbs, & Richards, Walcott, Sobers were there with Ponting just behind.

The thing I wanted to know was, did they work it out getting the highest ranked bowler/batsman at a single point in histiry or was done over their career, I can't actually see how they could do it that way so I'm assuming it was done as who had the most points at any time in history. So no bowler ever got more points at any time than Garner had at one time in his career.

Would be interested if anyone has more information on how they did it & the full lists.

ICC should leave the rankings to Wisden- the Bible of cricket reference.....

Some shocking stuff in there...but haven't seen the whole list....

It's not best 30 players ever over there careers it's the top 30 players in career best form. which looks about right.

How can the Leading wicket taker of All-Time NOT be in atleast the top five?

Because while he takes wickets he also goes for a fair few runs.
