View Full Version : Is bomber tanking?
This may sound pretty stupid, but since the collingwood defeat, do you think bomber has realised we can't win the flag this year so he's been tanking the last few games?
Both against Richmond and WC we've been in easily winnable positions, and yet we instantly started kicking innacurately, not tackling hard and giving away cheap turnovers.
Are we tanking the season for draft picks, or are we just the useless team i'm starting to think we are?

No burto, I don't think Bomber has given up. He said himself after last weeks game (or the game b4 that I can't remember) that "they are NOT giving up".
I don't think Thompson will rule out not making the finals until it is at the impossible of 9 wins from 8 games or something like that.

It's not Bombers fault that players are giving away cheap turnovers, not tackling hard enough and kicking innacurate. He doesn't tell the players to do that (well I hope he doesn't ;)). The players are the ones who are loosing the "winnable positions" in games.
If he was tanking we'd simply be not picking the best side available by playing the 'kids'. You can't tell 22 players to tank.

If Bomber aims to win, we lose... Maybe if he went out with the tactic of trying to tank we'd actually win a few? For that reason I think we should never give up. Cats for the flag in 2006!!!
