The ones in bold I wanted to single out. Well done to Dan and Mitch first of all on a great season. I dont want to be a pri*k but I dont think Scott Chandler is top 3 in the league for 18's. Bit of an insault I know but I just don't think he is all that good to be recognisd that highly.
Tory Liuzzi is a tough but very fair player and probably a bit stiff not to get a look in for Lara ones this year, especially when they were lingering down the southern end of the ladder. Future player for the LSC.
Luke Ryan.... First year 18's and is a gun. Played his first senior game on the weekend and snagged 3. Wish him all the luck at Falcons next year!
When is the Seniors and Magoos count? I heard you already have the suits dry cleaned Tomma and Young Pres!
Young Pres loses use of a computer for a couple of days and all hell breaks loose on the U/18's board. Let me just address a few things.
Docker you poor excuse for a human being, before you start abusing people like tommahawk get on your mule, donkey or whatever your bumpkin town uses as a mode of transport and come watch a game of football in the GFL and you'd see why players such as tommahawk are considered in such high esteem for their skill and ability to spark a crowd.
Secondly, interesting to see that the two highest ranking Bell Park players in the B&F equal less than the winner. Is this because Bell Park has such an even spread of players? However, South Barwon which is probably equal to Bell Park manages to produce the winner from its team. Did some say nullify McKee, nullify South Barwon?
Finally, Whispers as you'd know the GFL Reserves best and fairest is a very fickle award indeed. Regular winner Doggy Shannon has not had the best year so he may as well be counted out. The biggest first year reserves player in the league Simon Kenny would definately have to come under consideration although he will have votes taken from him Big Red Jarrod Hepburn. Similarly Sutej from the Seagulls will poll very well but lose votes to Hudich the ruckman. Really anyones guess...
Sorry young ones for defering from the topic of the U/18's briefly..

Fickle indeed Young Pres! I did like the look of the Kenny kid who at top speed is hard stop and he does lay a great don't argue! Shooter Sutej did have some cracking games at the start of the year but then injury and seniors prevented him to star in the ressies. A few more guys who I reckon will go alright, Ben Kelly and Adam Jennings from Newtown, Grant Thompson and Dan Sheridan from St. Mary's but I reckon John "Jesus' Long from St. Albans might claim it!!

South "go for the man instead of the ball" Barwon
it was indeed a very physical game toot toot. i heard that the south boys were under instruction to make things as physically uncomfortable for the bell park boys as they possibly could and "captain courageous" nick talarico seemed to bare much of the brunt in that department. the scoreline suggests these tactics should be revisited during the week...

Yes WizzFizz, it is true. It was an eventful last quater with the men in white asserting their authority on the game, and the joeys boys edged 10 points clear at the 21minute mark of the last quater, and looked to have the game won. Then Luke Moore kicked a goal, about his only kick for the game and made it 4 points the diff. Colac needed an extreamly quick goal, and it didnt look likely as luke ryan got the centre clearence before colac rebounded to centre wing, and bart k-h took a mark only for a free kick to be awarded to levi dare (colac), he then got a 50-m penalty as bart didnt give the ball back and pumped it insode 50 at the 24 minute mark. Yound #20 for Colac got a free kick for in-the-back and as the umpitre blew his whistle, the siren sounded. He had it about 25-30m out on a very clight angle, only for it to slide of the side of the boot for a point, about 1m to the left of the goals. THATS UNLUCKY Colac!!!!
Does anybody think South can come back from the 10 goal defeat at the hands of Bell Park, or will joeys make it a grand final rematch from 2005???

I'd have to disagree with you there Tomma.
Whilst I do agree that Bell Park will achieve the elusive 3-peat I feel that it will be Big Bad Ev Norbury who will exert his physical presence on the game the best,to become a dual premiership player.
Bell Park to win by 32points after what will be a tight and phsical affair early on.

This is hypothetical...
Say Joeys beat South Barwon this week and proceed onto the Grand Final against Bell Park, can St. Joeys 'drop' 17 yo Joey Macula from the seniors to play Under 18's? Is this allowed?
Also, if the Falcons get beaten this week in the Semi's, are there any South Barwon, Colac or St. Joeys players that can 'drop back' into their local senior teams? Is this allowed!?

Righto whispers!
Perhaps St Joey's would like to play Matt Scarlett or Cameron Ling in their team this week considering this former joey's juniors are no longer involved in the season proper. Or better yet perhaps Bazza Stoneham and Micky Mansfield would like to come down for a game. Get real!!

great question wildjohn! only one under 18 team has achieved the elusive 3-peat and that was the mighty seagulls who took out the tap into employment cup from 1987-89. not too sure who was coaching at the time or if indeed they coached all three years but still an amazing effort by the boys from winsor park...

joeys have proved to be the quality side over the last 5 years with this same team winning many premierships together. although they dropped a few easy games during the year which really made them pay. Joeys also having a confidence boosting win against nth shore last week. would that have a result on this weeks game? South barwon look very strong this year with some really quality key players. But south suffered a massive blow with last weeks loss. thier coach made them pay with an extra session running up and down the eastern beach stairs on sunday i think. will south barwon have enough confidence or legs to win this week?

Agreed, Joeys have had an extreamly talented crop of lads over the last 4 or 5 years, far better than the rest of Geelong. However, have they gottn the most out of them? WizzFizz u say that they have won "many premierships", come to think of it i think they have only won 1 premiership.
2002 - Under 14's Division 1 - Won Premiership over Bell Park
2003 - Under 16's Division 1 - ______________cant remember?????
2004 - Under 16's Division 1 - Lost to Ocean Grove in the Granny
2005 - Under 18's - Lost to Bell Park on Granny
2006 - ???????????????????
They have a great deal of players to choose from, and enourmous depth as shown by their sides divi 2 win this year. But will they win this year? They will go in as favourites, but dont write off south yet, they have proven themselves as a good team all year and dont wanna let it slip now!!!!!

well boys i have to say after seeing both games on the weekend... that south will get up over joeys... as the joeys boys hate the rough stuff and cant handle it... in saying that the winner of the GF will be bell park becuase they can handle themselves when it comes to getting pushed around... also they dont give it back which meens they stay focused on the game and not the other team...
If the conditions are nice with no wind we might see a closer game then most people think and might even see the tall south team get up(if south even make it past this week)

Wrong rocky, this group of players (when the likes of messer, o'donnell, kennedy hunt and will fitz, are top age, and gove, james fitz and adam pods are bottom age) have only won 1 premiership, in the 14's. In 2003 this years top age guys were bottom age, meaning the bottom age players this year were still in the 14's, and the same as last year except the other way round (this years top age players didnt play cause they were in the 18's). You need to think about it more rocky, this group have only won 1 premiership, that hardly counts cause it was in the 14's......

Toot Toot, you make it too easy for me!!
You see in your original post you listed the Grand Finals that this group have been involved in (i added the one's you missed in bold). So I replied to your post using the information you gave, and corrected it.
But then you go and change your criteria on me and get all technical, going by your new rules this group of players have only played in two Grand Finals together, winning one, losing the other to Ocean Grove when Bartram got BOG. Hardly under-achieving I would think, also the U14 side that won the flag in 2002 contained the likes of Higgins, Kennedy-Hunt, Macula, Williams, Purser, Couch and dare i say it, Talarico, none of whom are playing in the side at the moment, all great players, so the Joey's 18's can hardly be compared to an u14's side from 4 years ago!! I reckon if they still had all those blokes running around they wouldn't have lost too many games. :thumbsu:

Also Bucky, looking at Bell Park's list in the record, i think i can see 20 players who have played at least the last 5 years down at the Dragon Den, maybe 15 or 16 of these would be playing next week......

I've been signed up here for about a week now and I can't believe the amount of sh*t that gets posted on here. You Bell Park guys are so incestuous its not funny! Really, pi*sing in each others pockets all the time, get off each other! I hope South Barwon thump you guys next week and shut you arrigant c*nts up!
Benchwarmer, best you spend your time while warming the bench reading the comments made on this board. You will find that the only arrogant people on that post on this forum are 20 year old onlookers. The team itself are not arrogant so you better lift your game, or at least cast an eye onto the South Barwon outfit.
I heard that a certain St. Joseph's player (with a jumper number around 18, and a very good footballing twin brother with "blond hair and bulging muscles") recieved a text message from a certain member of the South Barwon team (who might wear the number 15, and be best mates with Mitch McKee, with initials JM) saying the following........
"What are you doing next Saturday? Sukers...."
Also, what are everybody's thoughts on south singing the song on the ground after their win on the weekend, with the park boys and jumping joeys watching on. Do they know the grand final is next week!!!???!!!

Ruby,
I want u to tell me what is wrong with these players. i agree there are some that shouldnt be there, but most of that list has either polled well in the league bnf, or in one case won it, played seniors for there club or consistantly been in the best for the 18's out of the players u have mentioned i would get rid of messer, daffy, w ryan and maybe gray.

time to start selections for saturdays big
For mine if weather holds id say Bell Park by 33 points, however after the way sth played on the weekend, they did go the footy, if mother nature turns and it rains dont be surprised if a result like last years grand final occurs and the dragon wagon gets a taste of its own medicine. If it rains heavily and conditions are wet i say sth by less than a kick

I think bell park will win by 4 goals + in any conditions although south are obviously a big chance if they go hard at the footy instead of the man...also mentally they all have to believe they can win because surely getting beaten by 60 points only two weeks ago has to be in the back of there minds going into the game.
also it was wet and slipperey conditions last time these sides met and park won comfortably so i dont think the conditions will bother them at all whatever they are on the day.

Who will win the GFL Grand Final: Bell Park
By how much: 14 points
Why?: To much to play for , u dont finish on top for nothing however south barwon are still a big chance if there in it at 3/4 time and physical pressure is up.
B.O.G- Mitch Troy will kick 3 or 4 goals . Creates to much space on a big ground will outsmart his opponent.

By how much:
Best on Ground:
Why?:
Who will win: Bell Park...i just think they use the big ground really well and it really frees up the forward line for woodman, troy, paulke (if he plays) etc..
I think they will get up by 4 goals +
Best on ground for mine nick talarico he leads the team so well and is in all the contests around the ground and dominated last start but also watch for rexman isaac he could rip south to pieces on the big stage!! :thumbsu:

My Prediction...South Barwon not to kick a goal, this nearly happened last time they met and could very well be on the cards this time around with added pressure.
The facts are plain and simple, you only have to look at the differences b/w the two coaches game plans, one is a very well oiled machine full of discipline and hard work, on the other side of the coin is south...whos game plan simply is "kick the f%$^&*G ball to bucky"
Bell Park by 47 points
Best On Ground: Chris Lynch ( Supporting a black eye)

Just looking for anyones thoughts on who will be down at falcons in 2007 , top age or bottom age who wernt there this year ? And who wont be there from this year?
top age - Ben Capra , Mitch Mckee , Anthony Fagan (ammos), Sam Bourke,Hugh Hanlon , Adam Podbury , David Fawkes , Devon Eddy, Chris Kangars (ammos)
Bottom age-Adam Donohugh, Andrew Rogers , Michael Jennings,Blake Hutchison if he was a year older

heres a good question for you girls...
after saturdays performance does c.lynch deserve a falcons letter?
my answer is yes. i know he's only very very lightly built but could be seen as a late developer. anyone who has that many possies (and opponents) in the biggest game of the year certainly has to be looked at.
your thoughts guys? (toot_toot dont answer)
