I think our ablity to kick goals was shown on saturday, apart from the first qtr. We still managed to kick 16 goals with out Murphy after a slow start and in 3qtrs of footy we kicked 15 of them once we sorted out the forwardline. I think we will still have the fire power to kick 16+ goals every week even just after one week missing Murphy. We do have the fire powere to beat big teams and i think we will show that in the next 12 games to come, only if we just keep running hard and going in hard for the ball.
Its always better to have a positive attitude and i havent really heard all that much of it in the past week. This has really suprised me and im getting sick and tired of it already, just because we lost 2 games in a row and Murphy people think we are done for. Well news to thoses people is that we are still hear and the team it self is still positive, and a positive attitude is what wins games.
Murphy is a great player, but it seems to me that a lot of people seem to be over doing his importance this season. There are a lot more pivotal players like Johnson, Harris, West and Grant who I'd be worried if we lost. If you look at our top three goal kickers (Johnson, Robbins and Eagleton) we still have a lot of goal scoring power. Higgins is still young but showed a lot of promise as CHF on the weekend. I think we still have numerous options in the forward line without having Murphy out there. Knowing this I'm still keeping very positive about the team having a successful year.

i think we should be alright without murphy. think about it, on the weekend not even eagleton kicked any goals and we were still able to kick a winning score (although it was only hawthorn). Then we will be geting gian and big will back, which in effect adds two more options up forward. So its its not that bad after all bogs fans. STAY POSITIVE !!!!!!!! :):)

Dats a good attitude, and in about 3 or 4 weeks we should get about 3 players back from injury so it does look good in the near future:D

Eagle did kick a goal, to finish that brilliant run by Griffen.

I suppose coaches are optimists when addressing the players, realists when discussing prospects with the rest of the coaching staff and pessimists when talking to the media. I don't see any virtue in false optimism on the part of fans; it's not as though the players come here for their pre-match address.
The good thing in our case is that we have good reason to be optimistic. We've been competitive in every game but one and won all the ones that we definitely should have won, despite having a shocking run with injuries. Some teams simply can't cover for injuries to key players. We might take a game or two to adjust to life without Murph, It'd be stupid to expect things to just fall into place, but the signs are pretty good so far. So, yes, let's stay upbeat. We've played a lot of top four teams lately and have played very well given our circumstances. We still definitely look like top eight prospects and perhaps being close to top four. And we have players returning and young prospects to blood. I guess we have great depth of talent and growing maturity. Augers well.

Gia's our main 'link' man so to speak, so getting him back will end up with higher quality delivery into the F50. He's a goalkicking midfielder too, which could add another 2 or 3 goals to our totals each week.

Very true that gia is our link man who can kcik goals but he hasnt kicked many so far this season. Gia also got an injured last season about this time as well and it was to his hand that put him out for like 6 or 8 weeks.. Cant remember how long it was but any way that injury caused us to losse a few game i think and now this season that he will play games mid season this will help us win games and get into finals. Even with more top players out this season i think that we are in a stronger position this season the last season, and what im saying is that Gia is a huge part of our midfield as he can deliver some great balls into our forward line.
