The already strong relationship between Victoria University and the LeasePlan Western Bulldogs has been further strengthened, with both organisations working together to present a series of informal Sports Science Seminars.

Hosted by Dr Shona Halson of the Australian Institute of Sport Recovery Centre, the first seminar of the series is titled ‘How not to cook your athletes’ which focuses on the avoidance of overtraining and recovery strategies which are applicable to all sports.

The Western Bulldogs and Victoria University will continue to work together throughout the year to produce these free seminars, with former Bulldog player and current Victoria University Professor within the Exercise and Sport Science division, Michael McKenna, heavily involved in the project.

Having played 80 games for the Bulldogs from 1979-1984, McKenna is now the Chair of the Western Bulldogs/ Victoria University Sports Science Committee, who are the driving force behind the seminars.
