What has happened to Michael Slater .He hasn't played in the last 2 ING cup games for NSW.Has he been dropped or is he injured ?

Is his state cricket career over ?

I saw today that he has been named in the side for the Pura Milk Cup match to take on the Redbacks.

He's been injured, but he's having a shocking season anyway. I don't think NSW have missed him much.

Slater needs to get away from cricket and the spotlight. He has lost the plot and seems to be at the crossroads of his career.

He should carefully evaluate in the off season where he is at and what is realistically achievable with what is left of his cricket career.

Slater made a duck in the 2nd innings. He really is up ***** creek without a paddle.

He had been dropped from one of the ING games, but then someone else got injured and he was re-instated.
But he's had a dreadful season. Never even looked like making a decent score.

Yeah sadly I agree. :( I don't think he's finished quite yet, but I do think he needs to do some soul searching, get himself together and finish his career in a blaze of glory. :D He CAN do it. :D

More arse than class is Slater. Glad to see him out of the national side. He was VERY lucky to even be on that Ashes tour in 1993 and it was criminal that he was picked ahead of Hayden for the Test spot back then.

Hayden is the one who should have 70-80 Tests to his name, not Slater who is one of the arsiest and luckiest batsman I have seen in a while (with edges and dropped catches).

I agree Darky. It was terrible how they porked Hayden out in favour of Slater for that Ashes tour (and all the tours to follow). I reckon Allana Slater (gymnist) would be a better cricketer than Michael.

Slats, one would suggest, is gawn...

I can't see him ever playing for Australia again and that's not a bad thing either, very overrated player, used to score a 90 or a 100 early on in a series and do nothing else after that.

Petulant child too...

See ya later slats...
