Wow, gotta love people who celebrate injuries

Would you have been happy if people said the same thing when Darcy or Murphy went down?

Murphy GAWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNN and that should just about do the Bulldogs in

Bad news for the English- absol;utely no celebrations here, as Jones is the gun bowler for the Poms, and this will make them come up with an alternate quick. He has had a tough go with injuries, and they will surely miss him. Does not mean the task will be any easier for the Aussies, though- and if we think that, then we could be in for a surprise....

Two spinners?

Who is the next quick anyway? Anderson? Plunkett? Lewis. Suits us fine.

They could play the extra bat like the 5th test, no doubt they have the part timers to cope with a 5th bowling option

Ive said it all along I think his career is over Hope Im wrong .I think you will find Flintoff maybe in trouble as well .Also to the person who said what comes around etc England have had much more than their fair share of injuries over the years you only have to look at our only really decent bowlers Gough Caddick and Headley they were always injured or just getting back in

Damn that is bad news, I was really hoping for two fully fit sides going head to head.

not celebrated, more Mild delighted

Will be tough without Si, Makes you wonder if we hadn't enforced the follow on at Trent Bridge... If he never plays for England again it will be a great way to finish, that 5-40 was crucial in regaining the Ashes.

Bugger.

Oh well, we can still win it anyway, jones or not.

The might of Hoggard, Harmison and Flintoff can do the job.

And if Tremlett can get himself fit he can do a good job with his pace and bounce, it means Giles would need to play as we would playing 2 #11's, we would need runs from him because you are not going to get many from Harmy and Tremlett or whoever plays instead.

Tremlett would have trouble getting into the Hampshire side at the moment, even if he was fit.

Well im hoping that we don't need to rely on our tail to get runs personally.

Can't see England winning now, unless the rest of the team played at 100%.

I have to say you continue to be the biggest twat on the forum.
Im sure you would have been one of those cheering and abusing when he was carried off at brisbane .

To compare the two is ridiculous everyone knew McGrath had just twisted his ankle badly
What a tosser you are

One words for those who take pleasure in others' misery, schadenfreude. I want the poms at full strength so we can beat them without reasons or excuses being offered up. Also I think some of the Queenslanders were cheering when he was stretchered off on the last tour. I think that's a bit uncharitable.

same difference

all the english tossers on the forum celebrating the injury to Glen McGrath

the subsequently celebrating the fact his wife was sick might see him prematurely retire from cricket.

just sharing the same feeling that the brits had for Glen McGrath, for Jones.

and frankly don't give a rats about the brits, just like to see them lose.

as for cheering with an injury we've seen the pathetic english fans do the same, I have no compulsion to give them anything other than they give us.

On a serious note, bad luck to them, good luck to us. He was their best bowler in the Ashes, but it seems like he'll never tour over this part of the world in his career

9 Jun 2006, 21:46
Huge news, he's an amazing bowler. He'll be sadly missed - by England that is.

frankrizzo
9 Jun 2006, 21:58
no surprise really, he's missed 35+ tests since his debut.

In fact if he doesnt play the ashes he will have played only 18 out of 60 or so tests, england need to write him off as he's injured far too often to even think of as a regular member of the team.

Injuries are just part and parcel of the game ...I personally would have liked to see both fully fit and firing teams fighting it out for the Ashes.....the whiny poms on here will just use this as yet another excuse for getting a hiding

nothing

on an individual basis all the best to the kid, injuries robbing players of their talent and time is a shame.

OUtside the petty and snide GTFO england burn in hell blah blah commentary I can't imagine to many people REALLY wishing injury on an innocent party

on a national basis..lolroflcopterWTFBBQPWN England

Why hasn't EddieSmith commented on this.

has the moron finally been banned? God i hope so.

As for Jones. Bad luck son. Saves you the embarrassment of being in a team that holds the Ashes for less than 18 months though.

England are mentally weak in sport.

Win one soccer WC and never again
Win Rugby WC and gets thrashed by 30 points against Australia tonight
Win the Ashes and then pack it in.

They think to win it once is enough.

Quite a pathetic attitude and typically weak minded.

Compared to......

0 World Cups, greatest moment in the countries sport until this year was beating England in a friendly. A whole nation suddenly on the bandwagon and about to be heartbroken.

Lose the Rugby World Cup on home soil to mighty England then beat us in a random meaningless game 3 yrs later and suddenly think they've got their 'revenge'.

Openly state winning the Ashes anything less than 5-0 would be unheard of, then lose the unloseable series to England and start throwing around injury excuses and cheating allegations of ball tampering to cover their bleeding hearts.

Sorry what were you saying about pathetic attitude and typically weak minded people? :D

Man, I was getting worried about you, Renegade- hadn't heard from you for awhile...guess the loss to Sri Lanka in the Test finally wore off, hey? Never mind- another test series just around the corner for your boys- maybe you can win a couple at home against Pakistan.

And for the record...

Rugby World Cups
AUSTRALIA 2 ENGLAND 1

Cricket World Cups
AUSTRALIA 3 ENGLAND 0

Ashes
Held by Australia 16 of the last 17 years to be reclaimed later this year

Yeah Jones can't be replaced with anyone with his ability. There's going to be 2-3 quicks that are going to have to impress pretty quickly to take his spot.

Yeah Jones can't be replaced with anyone with his ability. There's going to be 2-3 quicks that are going to have to impress pretty quickly to take his spot.

that's bad luck for jones - he's a hell of a bowler and his injury is a major factor in the outcome of the Ashes

more than his own skill with the ball, he formed part of a four-pronged attack used to batter the Australian with non-stop quality pace like the Windies of old

so if someone with less experience and pace steps in for jones, it is likely that advantage will be lost and England's only area of clear dominance (pace bowling) becomes more even
