Would you have wanted him at the club ? (as he really didnt show to much until last season)
Can you send us a link of the story?
I like Hunter. Good, versatile player.
How tall is he? Age?
He's my favourite Eagle - I think he's a great young player.
As to your question, I think Eade would have loved his versatility.
And a question for you - is he a better defender or a forward?
Don't get to see much of the Eagles, but he seems to be thrown forward whenever you're in trouble and almost turns the game.
Personally I'd love to have had him here.

190cm and turns 25 next week (quite a late developer)
Will almost always start at CHB or FB (played on neitz in R9 - Goaless, cant say the same for Robbo) but with Jaymie Graham in the side now we have been able to move him forward for much longer stints in games and won alot of games that we would have lost last year becasue of him.
depending on the matchup and time in the game I would rate him as an equally good Defender as a forward, this year he has been able to keep guys like Tarrant, Brown and Riewoldt to very low influence in the game while racking up the disposals and kicking a few goals himself.
in the 04 elimination final he was tagging adam goodes in the midfield such is his versatility

The Dogs contacted the Eagles about trading for Hunter after the 2001 season because Hunter hadn't been getting much game time. Eagles said no as they knew he would be a late developer. Hunter said he was very tempted to become a Bulldog.

yea that's true ... it sucks to have a 190cm player who is capable of holding many of the best forwards in the league isn't it .. who can play short or tall ... who can go forward with teriffic goal sense

wonder what we wouldve given away for him
the jumper suited him though
wouldve been interesting to see how he went with us
but his doing good over there
no use really wondering anyways
its like wonder who we wouldve got if we had that number 6 draft pick for if we had never tried to get rawlings
cause it doesnt mean just cause bradley went at number 6 that we wouldve have taken him
and yeah we coudlve taken stevens aswell but i dont know if they wouldve but yeah cause he was the only player there that i can remember
another one like the cooney and ray draft no offenece to ray but we couldve had brock mclean haha
even though i like ray and think his goign to become a better player at the moment brocks one of the better and tougher midfielders goign round
ohh well all stuff that couldve been
im happy with our team though anyway
thats all i got for now anyways

Go for him at Carlton if you want him. Personally I'm not a great fan. At 25 now and from what I've seen its taken him a while to cement a place in the Eagles line up. A line up that is not exactly blessed with talls.
Sorry but we have 190cm players maybe not as good at the moment some with just as much potential if not more. Hargrave sounds like is a very similar player if not better.

Who cares if it took him a long time to develop. He has developed now into a very good player. He is considerably better then Shaggy and it would be great to have him in our side.

Was drafted to West Coast as a full forward. Mick developed him into a defender.

Absolute genuine gun player.Tough , rugged ,athletic and versatile.Actual size does not matter because he plays taller than most of our 196cm + players.Never understood why people place such importance on the measurements of players. What is more important is how tall the guy actually plays IMO.
That is shattering that we almost had him.

Mick?
Unless you are speaking of Michaels Braun, Gardiner or Prior I think you might have your timeline a little muddled.

Hunter and a 2nd round pick to the DOGS for Farren ray to Eagles.

Haha hell no.
They probably would not even do Hunter for Ray straight swap.
Hunter is a gun. So versatile.

He is an exciting player...and is definitely all you have listed above in your description of him, I just love watching him play. He seems to do everything right.

There's no way we would do that trade straight up
At the moment, with our stocks, KPP are worth so much more than midfielders
I hate Hunter with a passion.
Love having him here. The only thing I don't always like about him is his attitude when on the field. Players like that generally annoy me, but love having Hunts in the team. Comes accross as a bit of a prick IMO. Always plays well in finals and big games though, which is what you want from your key players.

Hunts is a great player and so versatile and thats what makes him such an important cog in he Eagles team
I can almost guarentee that if for some reason the Eagles put him up for trade then every single club in the AFL will have a look at him.

I thought he was the eagles best in the 2005 GF. Very good player.

Haha, that's exactly it. He acts like a bit of a ****er on field, good player, but probably not AS good as he thinks he is.

You can bet his opponents hate the way he acts on the field as well and thats what makes him a good player. He has massive amounts of the c word in him.

Yes, Hunter has that niggle quality about him....he is the type of player that you either love or extremely hate, no inbetweens.

I think he was fantastic on Saturday, he's one of the most underrated defenders going round (close second behind Morris of course:) )
West Coast wouldn't take Farren, but I wouldn't mind having him on the list

I wouldn't give up Farren he is a very good player and is improving all the time, sooner we have him signed up the better. Hunter, well I wouldn't mind him in our side although not sure who I would give up for him, imagine Hunter and Aker at the Bulldogs - awesome combination.
