Just read an article saying a few of our players have the flu including Smith, Hargrave, Gia, Johnno.
Not good. Hopefully they come good, all very important players for this game too!
Article from ABC Online.

Hopefully they'll be right for Freo.
For once it's good that we have a Sunday game.

Honestly we'll have the first australian case of bird flu at our club.
They reported it on the 11.00 news on SEN.
Apparantly Gia & Johnno are the most affected.

Jeez. Has someone run over a black cat or something?????? Can our luck get any worse. All of the injuries which we have battled against and now this. Whenever these flus run through sides they usually look flat and lethargic. I fear the worst for this weekend now and in my view this weekend is pretty well our whole season. 7 and 4 sits a whole better than 6 and 5.
We have just got to hope that it hasn't hit them too hard.

I've got this flu and it's absolutley ****ful. It's sapped all my energy but at the same time I cant sleep for more than half an hour. It also comes with a tummy bug.
If I got a phone call from Rocket saying "we need you to play on sunday" I'd have to say no.

Ah toughen up.
I played Water Polo with it.
But looking back on it, it probably was not a good idea, because I really had no idea what I was doing and could have drowned. Haha ah well. Alls well that ends well.

You are aware that flu's are contagious...?
Hopefully they'll be right for Freo.

Different levels of the flu..
If you get a bad one it can keep you down for weeks, a light one can come and go in 48 hours.

Thank god. I thought we were in real trouble for a moment!

Gerard Whateley said on 774ABC Melbourne just a few minutes ago that if the game would have been tomorrow, we'd definitely have a few players out.
Could be a smokescreen. Eade's a bit of a shrewdy.

It has nothing to do with a "level of the flu".
It has to do with which virus you are infected with.
The severe infections are usually caused by viruses such as Influenza A virus (the H5N1 strain of Influenza A is Avian Influenza or Bird Flu), Influenza B virus, Parainfluenza Virus and RSV.
The mild infections are caused by Rhinoviruses and Enteroviruses.
The flu is a generic term encompassing a range of viral respiratory tract infections.
From what I have been told, the sick Bulldog players actually have viral gastroenteritis. This is usually caused by an Enterovirus or Norovirus. If it is a Norovirus it is likely that quite a few more players will get sick as it is highly infectious.
The good news though is that both viruses usually only take 2 to 3 days to recover fully from.

But can elite athletes perform at their best after 3-4 days?

We have untill Sunday so i think they should be fine to play, and if one of them happens not to play we have a few good replacements.
