Mark Le Cras - Pathetically soft, ive seen some soft players in my time but this guy makes Andrew McDougall look like a ox, he got knocked over called for a stretcher then waived it away cos he felt like playing, wont play a game for the Eagles ever again IMO unless he refinds his testicles. Kicked two goals, Hurn moved on him and TOWELLED him up like no other. Le Cras didnt chase him and Hurn ragdolled him on all occassions. Very disappointing and IMO in line for delisting/trading next season. Ill say a good thing or two, improved disposal too a point where its very good, reads the play well.
Shannon Hurn - Towelled up Le Cras and getting better each and every week, getting over his OP for sure, launched a few torps apparantly, wud like to see it on video. Very impressed with this bloke, gets better and better and better, so much room for improvement too, Will be a constant best 22 player for us next year I reckon. Peels best yet again. 3 goals 26 possessions
Michael Gardiner - Best on ground for Claremont, ran and ran and ran some more, dominated in the centre, bagged a goal and really did little wrong. A few more weeks like that and he will be back in the team I reckon. 25 possessions 13 marks, really helped out his defenders by tracking back too
Mitch Morton - Went forward and was awesome kicked 6 goals and was there focal point, has the tendency to try and take mark of the year every time he plays, last two games hes knocked himself senseless trying to take a hanger hence two poor weeks for him but not trying for mark of the year saw him put in a consistent game. A good player and better option then Samps IMO
Brett Jones - A man in a boys game, is so far above and beyond WAFL level, it stands out every time you watch him play, he runs his opponents off his feet he outmuscles them and destroys EVERY single opponent he has been given. Too good for WAFL and he shows it week in week out. Another dominant display in defence like always. 19 possessions 9 marks and his opponent goalless, bring him in Woosh
Ashley Sampi - 16 possessions 3 marks 1 goal, wasnt alot for him to do today cos South Freo forwards held all there marks, looked good in the middle but he cud barely run out a whole quarter in the WAFL, a llooooooooooooooooong way to go to get back into the team
Travis Gaspar - Owned by Merrington, ended up with 12 possessions 7 marks, a player who starts of good and in the last half will really fade out, got a inkling he is carrying something serious.
Andrew McDougall - One of Perths best, lead all day at CHF, took down like 19 marks (7 contested) and kicked a goal incl. a few contested grabs which is nice to see, the week of did him good it seems, one of his best games all year.
Ben McKinley - 12 possessions 4 marks 2 goals, not happy Jan (both goals snapped from 10m out). The a excellent tackler and puts a ton of defensive pressure, his tackling is the best part of his game. Clearly struggles with OP, he cant kick for goal during a game because of it, its obvious, I cant understand why he isnt getting it fixed.
Steve Armstrong - Won plenty of the ball (30 odd possessions again), still isnt doing enough with it, but is slowly improving. Good footy smarts he has IMO
Sam Butler - 22 possessions no goals, apparantly he looked a little bit sore, still making his way back so just gotta be patient. Believe it or not 22 possession is his lowest ever WAFL possession tally. Shows what a gun he normally is at that level
Ashley Thornton - Good defender IMO with a good spoil, too bad he cant kick use his body or run out a whole game.
Ben Sharp - Tagged out of the game but limped pretty much the whole way through the game, another player clearly injured but still going along. Very poor year for him and has taken steps back, not much of a chance to be promoted, hes just too skinny for AFL footy and cant seem to put on the mass. Still the best game he has played in a month though and was a bit more accountable then normal which is good to see.
