Love No #17 Who has been forced into early retirement!! Thanks to a cheap shot by North Footscray!! F U C K I N Pricks!!
Was it #5 who gave u that cheap shot... whata dog he is.
It was #24 Garry Gath that got the bump. It was after a mark, totally unfair and uncalled for, but these things happen in footy dont they. Unfortunatly poor 'Donkey Kong' copped the harsh end of the stick and spent a few hours in the hospital because of it. Tough bloke though, he'll live! Still managed a few beers later that night:D
What were the results of the Albanvale v Wyndhamvale game?

Finals Week 1: Werribee week off, Magpies v Albanvale, Nth Fscray v W.Fscray/Sunshine
Western Magpies vs Albanvale promises to be one of the matches of the year. Both teams have beaten each other , Albanvale are in form but with the Magpies full squad back are just about the best side in the comp .. Take ya pick, the game will be Saturday 19th August 9:30 am at Yarraville!!!.
I say Western Magpies, Albanvale are nothing away from there home ground, and with a nutral venue, Western Magpies have shown they can win not only at home but also away.
I say Western Magpies, Albanvale are nothing away from there home ground, and with a nutral venue, Western Magpies have shown they can win not only at home but also away.
A reason why the Magpies are better off at Yarraville is because its a massive ground. Albanvale have the big blokes and like to play a slow contested game, Magpies are pretty much completely the opposite they use the small blokes for a fast running continuous game. If it was on a smaller ground id say Albanvale would have to go in as favourites but because its at Yarraville its definitely gona suit the Western Magpies.
The other game is Nth Footscray vs West Footscray/Sunshine. Nth Footscray have been on a roll and are probably the inform team but West Footscray/Sunshine have beaten them twice this year... Tips?
Tips:
Nth Footscray by 20 pts
Western Magpies by 12 pts
Tips:
Nth Footscray by 20 pts
Disagree. West Footscray/Sunshine are the bigger more physical side i think they will win by 3-5 goals.
Since When did the league swap the finals venues for the two matches, the other day it was the Qual Final at Werribee and the Elim Final at Yarraville. With the teams playing wouldn't have they had the games at the original venues, (more for travelling distance, the footscray teams at yarraville and the two others at Werribee)
albanvale only have 2 big men and jamie is a on baller runs all day he is the danger to the magpies and steve farrugia

What would be the team of the year in Under 18's B division.

Dont know , I agree it is stupid there was no reason to have the venues changed.. But doesnt matter both are big grounds with grandstands which is great for a finals atmosphere.

I suppose you will find out in a couple of weeks
Will be heading down to Chirnside Park with a few of the boys on Sunday to check out North Footscray vs. West Footscray/Sunshine. Should be a great game and hopefully a close one. Both squads have got talent, But i think North Footscray will get over the line just.
West Footscray/Sunshine will struggle to match the pace of forward thrusts from Daniel Neville and goals from Ash Peters. Garry Gath will cause a bit of trouble for WF/S been verstile and able to play Ruck, FF or FB. Michael Aspiotis will give NF that all important run out of defence and the midfield stocks of the 'Devils' should come through.
Although WF/S has Jon Blake (often seen as Wests most important player) who can fill any position coming from the Jets, he hasn't shown enough form in his Under 18 games to seem to be much of a worry for a quick North midfield. West has former 'Dragon' Robbie Roach who has come from no where to steal leading goal kicker who should provide North with a bit of trouble, but a likely scenario will see Gath go down to man him up. If Rowan Hatty can give West a few it will make things interesting. Rough half back Josh McCabe will need to find a bit of pace to match the quickness of North's forward set up but if he can get back loose and man the hole it could give West a big advantage. If Brenton Quinn plays it will be a very interesting game.
But over all North Footscray has the speed and enough tall blokes in there stocks to create a victory over a team it is yet to beat in '06.
My tip- North Footscray x 20 pts.

Falcon do you anything about Sunshine players at all ???
Brenton Quinn has played every game in the seniors this season. Also no wonder that Jon Blake hasn't been showing no form in the under 18's is because he has played in the reserves for Sunshine and has been doing quite well.

But Nth Footscray will win coz they have the pace and you West Footscray scummers suck a$$ becuase you can only just bet wyndamvale and they werent travellin to good this year!!

Mate, do u know me? I do know about west's players as I have played Interleague with them and some of us go way back. I wasn't sure if Brenton Quinn had played true, but notice I talked about Blakey's Under 18's form, not his reserves form of which I'm sure no one in this thread gives a dam. Blakey even got beaten by Lukey Lawson, the next Anthony Koutoufides in a contest!
How bout you get off your high horse, I was only giving my opinion on the up coming game and giving something for people to read because theres hardly anything else interesting on the Under 18 B's.
Do you believe my other assesments were wrong? If so who gives a crap.

Falcon I don't care who you play with in interleague so pumping up your own tyres and get over yourself.
Now, I was just trying to state that these players probably won't play because of their other committments within the football club. Daniel Glowaki might not be playing under 18's as well through the final due to playing seniors as well. If Jon Blake is no good then how do you rate him?
I ain't pumping no tyres, you asked a question "Do I know anything about Sunshine players?" and I simply answered it. The fact I have played Interleage was just part of the answer. There is no need to get over myself.
These players might not play, that's why I mentioned if they do it will be interesting. And about Jonathon Blake. Do I rate him? Bloody oath. I think he is an awesome player. To be on the Jets list is a fantastic achievment and for him to play a few games with them is excellent. If he players for the 18's in this weeks Elimination Final then it will make a big difference in West's chances.

I don't think West Footscray/Sunshine can win due to all their players playing elsewhere throughout their clubs. To win finals you need most of your list up and running to be any chance of the hold up the cup in September.
Totally agree and it's a shame that West U18's has had to suffer missing players to the seniors and Jets in one case. Another reason why I believe North Footscray will win on Sunday.
But If you could say i was 'supporting' someone, then West Footscray/Sunshine has my backing.

Mate i play for the Western Magpies and we see West Fscray/Sunshine as probably our biggest threat. Even though we have beaten them three times this year they are still the most physical team we have played.
And your right when Jon Blake has played 18's he hasnt been a superstar , but he has talent and when he turns it on and he will if he plays this Saturday he will be very hard to stop. Also doubt Quinn and Glowacki will play , Quinn is almost a certainty not to play as he has played one game in the 18's and Glowacki has only played a few. If Glowacki and Blakey play West Footscray/Sunshine will win by 5-10 goals and even if they dont play West Footscray/Sunshine will still be to strong.
To physical for Nth Footscray in the end.

Blake no chance of playing, last night he was named for first game in the ones this week. Good luck to him too. Glowacki was omitted from the seniors, is more likely to play reserves as apposed to dropping right down to the 18's.

Western Magpies got done this morning. Possibly their worst peformance of the year. Albanvale went out and jumped them in the first half, then it evened back up in the second half.
I tip that Western Magpies won't let that happen again.
Next Weeks Matches will be:
1st Semi Final (Winner in to grand final and week off, loser in prelimenary)
Werribee Juniors vs Albanvale at Chrinside Park
and
2nd Semi Final (Sudden Death, Winner to Prel. Final and loser out)
Western Magpies vs West Footscray/Sunshine or North Footscray at Yarraville Oval
Both games on Sat. 26/8 at 9:30am
Wow, can't believe Magpies got rolled. But when thinking about it, it's not suprising considering Albanvale's form. They would be my new tip for the flag.
i told use all jamie was the danger to the magpies and he dominated all day and so did bo

I still think Werribee are the team to beat. They fiinshed on top of the ladder and proved they can beat the top teams. Now with the Magpies, who lost are on a down now its the perfect for Weribee. When the centre line are running and the forward line kicking goals there sre nearly unstoppable. I rekcon Werrbee vs Albanvale for the premiership!!

Well ur right Coldog they jumped us early and piled on the goals. Was definitely our worst performance of the year we were even more competitive against A grade side Port Colts in rd1. Gota give it to Albanvale though they are the bar in this comp and will absolutely smash Werribee this week no doubt.
Looks like im sayin this everyweek but the Magpies are still rattled by injuries and it couldnt come at a worse time. Still out are our captain Ryan Barnwell , Keane Collier , Crackers and our best player Ayden Bourne. We r at our most vulnerable at the moment.
We are lookin forward to the game this week vs Nth Footscray. They got us in rd16 after we dominated all day , we were hoping we could play them because we wana get them back. Also there should be no doubt of Albanvale beating Werribee coz Albanvale are a ****ing good side , Werribee have nobody that will be able to man up on Beau Bentley who is the most dangerous player in the comp.

I wouldn't be too 'sure' of anything in this competition. You were sure that the 'Pies would get up this week and they didn't, and I remember tipping North Footscray and you saying no way. Under 18 B has been the most unpredictable competition in all the WRFL this year. From bottom teams to top teams. So I wouldnt be so sure of anything if I were you.
As for the Western Magpies and there bad start, injuries, worst game and what not, I wouldn't worry about that or even talk about last weeks loss or make any excuses. Concentrate on this weeks game and make sure you prove that you are as good as their players are claiming.
PS: look out for a mention in the WRFL Footy Record :D

From what we saw of Albanvale last Satday they r premiership fav's no doubt , they have proven they can beat Werribee and r the most inform team in the comp so shouldnt be a problem for them , like i said theyve got nobody good enough to match up or Beau Bentley.
As for us (W.M) we r completely focused on this weeks game with Nth Footscray and i promise to u a different , more determined team will step out on the field Saturday at Yarraville Oval. We should get a few players back from injury which will be a bonus .. especially Keane Collier our full forward who kicks 4-5 per game who we sorely missed against Albanvale.
I can't wait to square up with the North Footscray's number 5, his so strong hitting people when there not looking and have there backs turned
yes bo is good but while jamie stays in the middel they will win the premership i told use that before the magpies game and he destroyed them he is fit now and full of runing

I must admit we choked hardcore , today we shouldve won the game in the 3rd quarter we had all the legs and looked like a certain win for us but a credit to nth footscray they always fight back and outscored us in the last qtr ... Disapointing end to wat has been a fantastic season for us. Nobody wouldve expected Laverton to finish 2nd on the ladder which i think even suprised us ourselves. About 90% of our side were first year Under 18's , will be interesting to see how we go next yr .
Id like to c Nth Footscray win the flag coz theyre a nice bunch of blokes and always show alot of respect after a game. They should be able to beat Werribee this week and then go on and face Albanvale. Id like to c Nth Footscray win but Albanvale will win it easy.
Next yr i hear they want to make the A division bigger because of new Under 18B sides coming from Pt Cook , Deer Park , Altona and possibly Werribee Centrals... What sides will go up? About 4 teams will go up.

The results arent in but ive heard Albanvale won by 10 goals is this true?
From the opening bounce Albanvale took the lead and Werribee never had the lead for the game. The boys from Cobra Land came out firing like they did against Lavo, Werribee never looked like coming close. The only quarter Werribee showed a bit was the 2nd when they scored 5 Goals 1, but that same quarter Albanvale scored 5 Goals 2 of their own. 47 points was the final margin. Albanvale have been in control both finals they have played and quite comfortably in fact.
Cobras for the flag!!!! Bring on Werribee again or North..
What a big week in the unpredictable Under 18B. Can't believe the Western Magpies have gone out in straight sets. Can't believe Albanvale has decided to stamp the foot in the latter part of the season, can't believe Werribee has stopped all momentum and can't believe North Footscray has risen as a true challenger to the premiership. Well done to all boys, making this division and Age group the most exciting in the WRFL.
On another topic. What was the drama between Werribee and Albanvale at Soldiers Reserve and the Cobra's boycotting if it wasn't changed to Yarraville? That is the story I recieved at Soldiers when there was no game on at about 11am on Saturday.
Next yr i hear they want to make the A division bigger because of new Under 18B sides coming from Pt Cook , Deer Park , Altona and possibly Werribee Centrals... What sides will go up? About 4 teams will go up.
Yes Unit, you are correct. The WRFL will be increasing both the A and B div's next year. Those teams you mentioned (minus Werribee Centrals U18's who are a definate to stay in GDFL) will most likely be included into the B div whilst about 3-4 2006 B div teams will go up to A to increase that div and prevent continuos repeats of clashes between sides.
Clubs most likely to go up to A div in 2007 you would most definatly be premiership favourite Albanvale. They will most likely take the flag this year meaning that they would be first considered. Other clubs might include North Footscray and possibly West Footscray. Not so sure about Western Magpies, would need Unit or another player from Lavo to comment. But I know 100% that Wyndhamvale will have an A team next year aswell as a B team. With 8 blokes from this years team, new recruits from other clubs and the huge influx of the very successful Wyndhamvale Under 16 A side in the clubs plans, it gives good reason to have an A side, hopefully a successful one. It would be good if a current A div player who may read this info on the 2007 div's could comment on their thoughts about '07.

Who's it going to be to face Albanvale in the Grand Final? Werribee Juniors or North Footscray? It will be a good game. Werribee should come out all guns blazing after finishing top and getting hammered in their first final, but i dont think they are as good as everyone makes them out to be having played them 3 times this year... The 2 teams highlighted would both kill it in B division , Albion would probly stay in A division anyway at the start of next season. The Magpies on the other hand may have to play the first 3 games in B grade to c how they go much like Port Colts did this year. Maybe the same for Wyndhamvale because of there bad performance this year.
Theyre also expecting a team from Glenorden and maybe a seperation between West Footscray and Sunshine.
Im tipping North to get up in a close one and then to get pumped in the Grand Final.. Anyone elses thaughts?
No doubt Albanvale have the Premiership signed , sealed and delivered and they will play Nth Footscray. Nth Footscray r a fighting side with not alot of talent but they never give up , however i must say without Chris Revell and Daniel Neville they would struggle.
But expect Nth Footscray to beat Werribee this week.

good call..
I doubt if West Footscray were to go to A grade next yr they wont be good enough. Also next year most of Albanvales side will be playing seniors and finished Under 18's so there side will be no where near as good as this year. My prediction of teams to go up will be Wyndhamvale , Western Magpies and Nth Footscray but they may have to play 3 games in B's first.
Also u Wyndhamvale boys wouldnt have heard a rumour that being of star Under 16 player Andrew fabb making his way to Western Magpies next year. Hes best mates with most of the Western Magpies Under 18 players and he is seriously considering making the move next year ... have u boys heard anything?

True alot of the Cobras players are going up next season, but there are some really good under 16 players coming thru, I think Albanvale will be one of the top sides in B next year, Losing too many good top age players for them to go up to A i think..

Am alright mates with Fabb, but my brother is better mates with him, having played with him this year in the 16's. My tip is he would stay, but you never know, it is possible and I wouldn't be suprised, he does live in Laverton. But he is also great mates with the younger blokes in the Under 16's and has played with them his whole life, aswell as under Interleague Coach Darren Batties who I can't see letting him go under any circumstances. It's possible if he his best friends with some Maggies boys, but as a Wyndhamvale clubman, I certainly hope not.
And Wyndhamvale is certain to have 2 teams next year. One been A div, the other been B div. But next year will see a Wyndhamvale under a new banner. The Under 18's will be joining the Wyndhamvale Falcons Football Club and be seperating from the juniors. Meaning new senior jumpers and new administration. But 2 teams is a definate and a team in A div is almost gauranteed. Thing is this years Wyndhamvale team only has bout 5-6 blokes who would play next year, thus meaning form from this year is irrelavent. The Vales plan to recruit hard from other clubs and leagues for next season, but if unsuccessful and the young blokes fall through, such as Andrew Fabb, it most likely won't be a flash year. But I'm confident of a finals spot next year.
On the Western Magpies note, I actually hope they play A's next year. They did in Under 16 A's about 2 years ago with this group of players, Errol Henderson etc, and will be interesting to see how they fare against other A teams.

Errol Henderson and a few others including Keane Collier , Bryan Lawry , Omar Elterifi , Steve Paone and "Choco" Jason Whitling who were pretty much our best players this year will be playing under 18's next season. Id like the challenge of the A grade i think we may be able to beat a few sides in there next year. That year u mentioned in the 16 a's was 2003 and we made the finals that year. Year after that for some reason we played 16 c's and dominated went through undefeated. Will be good to once again play A grade if we get there.
Also on Fabby ... My tip is he will stay at Wyndhamvale as this rumour seems to come up at the end of every season.
Id like to know your fellas tips for the league B & F voting: 1st , 2nd , 3rd
My tip is Beau Bentley 1st , Nick Morrison 2nd and Bryan Lawry for 3rd
I was meaning the side that played in 2004, I remember u finishing 2nd last that year but dont worry we were third last.
well well unit27 is picking beau and then he bags me well he will be lucky to finish top 4 for albanvale .

Beau Bentley
Justin Kormoczi
Steven Farrugia
Shaun Wos

Them top 4 would be the top 4 , dont know which order though, and then one of them other 3 guys would round it out i guess,,
top 4 will be ,Steven Farrugia,Beau Bentley,Justin Kormoczi,Nam Chau

Yep well done Albanvale i gota give it to em , Also Nth Fscray id just like to congratulate they should be proud of themselves for putting in such a good performance today , shame they couldnt get over the top but thats footy.
Well done all teams in Under 18B's this year, whata comp its been.
Great to see plenty of B Division players in the Under 18 Team of The Year, I think every club was represented, even Flemington Juniors, so great effort by the decision makers in that regard. But realistacally going over it, it doesn't look to great and there are some boys in weird positions and others very unluckly to miss out.

Yep damn right i dont know why nick morrison is on the half backline , he deserved to make it but its strange seeing morrison there and mccabe from west fscray/sunshine who is a gun backman sitting on the bench.
Does anyone know the top 5 vote getters in Under 18B League B&F?
