Whos going to win?
Im a keen follower of both the under 18 competitions but for the Under 18b's i think the Western Magpies have got what it takes. Even though Werribee are undefeated. I think that Laverton will get them in the finals and Werribee wont even make the grand final , Grand Final will be Western Magpies vs West Footscray/Sunshine in a very close game.

Thats a very big call, but i would sy it depends on one thing, that kid, if i recall his number 50 from the western magpies, if he fires(Ayden A Bourne), the Western Magpies could play anyone, they would win for sure. The balance of the game ill be put on Ayden Bournes shoulders. I agree That the Western magpies will win and most likely play West Footscray/Sunshine, but it all depends of the ability of Ayden Bourne, to lift and inspire his team.

What about Werribee we have written them off , they r underfeated and on top of the ladder they must have a chance.

The problem with Werribee is that they have a number of players that will most likely be suspended by the end of the season(not to name names), and as i saw in the match that they just defeated the western magpies, in the first 3 quarters werribee played tough hard hitting football, but in the last quarter laverton came back and played the same rough and tough game, and werribee were too worried about spilling peroxide in there eyes started to retelate from perfectly legal hits and get sin binned. Werribee are a team of class but when it comes to the rough stuff, they have no chance, they also a habit of chooking in the finals so they have no chance of making the grand final, and even if they do they won't win.

Totally Agreed Coxy ... West footscray/Sunshine are sitting 4th on the ladder at the moment. I think if they make the finals they will make a big impact and suprise alota teams especially with players like Jon Blake and Brenton Quinn. If Quinny starts playin in the 18's they will go very far this year.

So the contenders are:
Werribee
Western Magpies
West Footscray/Sunshine?
Can anyone name the pros and cons for each team?
Ie: Height, Midfield?
I think that if any team wants to beat these sides then they must shut down these players in particular...
Werribee - Stef Thomson (Goal Sneek kicks a bagg evry week) , Adrian Pappas (Big strong on baller with great skill)
Western Magpies - Ayden Bourne (All Around Gun) , Abdi Abboma (Athletic on baller with great skill)
West Footsray - Jon Blake (Western Jets Player) and also Daniel Mason who has been in there best most weeks.

I would also add that werribee like to go the man, when they played the western magpies, i heard that they had 2 tagging ayden bourne and they tried o tak him out which resulted in them getting a man sent off.
western magpies have no weaknesses and the only weakness with west footscray is that are a tall and lanky team, with no legs.

Anyway Lavo boys, will you be sticking with the club when you are no longer eligible to play under 18s? One of the reasons why the club has stagnated and has been one of the laughing stokes of the competition is because of the gap between juniors and seniors - no under 18's for a long time meant that good players either left for other teams because of no 18s, or they just gave up altogether. The 18's have a good bunch of kids who can do well at senior level as it is, there is no real reason why if they all continued to play for the club that they could help the Magpies up the ladder and gain some respectability.
I think the Magpies Under 18 boys will stay at the club because theyve all been playing together since Under 10's and have won a number of premierships together

For sure, we've also acquird some key players from other clubs in the under 18's, no reason for us not to at seniors level, we got:
Brett Cox(hoppers crossing) the gun and Corey Allen(Altona juniors) along with alot of new players to the game. You seem to know alot about the club?

Glad to see the guys probably would stay on, could pretty much transform the clubs on field performance, I am mates with some of the blokes who play seniors and reserves, apparently the 18's lead the way with their commitment to training - poor effort by the seniors, but great by the 18's. If they manage to win the under 18 b's (even though its b grade) it would be a godsend for the club.
Usually the seniors train with us because they prefer our drills

the clubs biggest challenge will be keeping that superstar ayden bourne, that kid would have to be the most underated player on the team. ayden bourne attracts 2 players everyweek(not tagign him but in his gravitational force), the just can't get away from him. Also, Ayden A Bourne is a huge part of the club, if it wasn't for him selling out the canteen, they would have gone under long ago. No other mans countless devotion to food could help the club in that way.

There was a huge Friday Night Footy game last night at Soldiers Reserve, Werribee v Wyndhamvale. Was a absolute fantastic match that came down to the last few minutes where Werribee just snuck home by 12 points. Hundereds of people were there and it was one of the most exciting games that you will see this year. What was really suprising was the form of the 'Vales', who have had a bad start to the year come with in a small grasp of victory over the undefeated Werribee. I think Wyndhamvale is just coming out of their shell and are going to make a huge run at the finals, even a chance at the flag, if they get there. They have a good run home, and have the players to do so, just check out these guns starting to fire now:
Todd Lawrie: Gun midfielder who is a ball magnet, former Werribee A superstar
John Drohomirecki: Leading goal kicker in the B's league, Great mark and probably best kick on the side, always kicks a bag, killed it in seniors last year
Nick Morrison: New Western Jets recruit with super Basketball background, hard at footy, very couragous
Matt Lynch: Probably best full back in the league, hard at footy and great grab
Daniel Dihm: Rough nut player who has great skills and not afraid of anything
Daniel Holman: Former Jet, great hands and skills and is as fit as anyone
Jamie Wallace: Become a hard Centre Half Back, Great mark and plenty of courage
Shane Wallace: Come over from the seniors to play, is a magnet and has the best skills of any player in the league
Ben Cain: Former Hoppers A player, is very creative and can kick goals from anywhere on the ground
Joel Gorsuch: Known as the 'Animal' a scary fella, who is a super tag, and hard at the contest
Daniel Mannix: back from broken leg, super talent, is hard at the ball and very creative midfielder
How's that for a side, plus more, watch the Vales as they come back strong this year. Watch out Magpies and Tigers.

Yeah!, the game was played on Friday because the Werribee A's also had to play at Soldiers Reserve in Round 9. So this game was pushed forward which was an excellent decision, giving the B Division a chance to be showcased in front of hundreds of people. Lucky it was a close game.
it's suprising and unfortunate how the team has started, and bloody oath Magpies vs. Falcons should be a good game, but unfortunatly for the Vales, its a home, at the biggest ground in the league, where the team lacks 4 qtr fitness and run.

Western Magpies have easy the best midfield in the comp with players like Ryan Barnwell , Drew Mitchell , Jason Whitling , Errol Henderson , Steve Paone and Bryan Lawry all capable of going in there .. All of these boys are former interleague and jets players with great talent. Also there is Abdi Abboma a former track and field athlete who im guessing is the fastest player in the league.
The Magpies will use the ground very well.. Not to say Wyndhamvale wont , Should be a great game

From WRFL Division 2
It's unfortunate that both Western Magpies and Brunswick Power players have to play in both Reserves and Seniors. It must be hard and its sad to see any club in that position. But luck does turn around and I'm pretty confident that eventually these clubs will gain a few good players and some momentum. Laverton more so than Brunswick in the near future.
As for Brunswick been the worst team in Australia. I would say that them and the Flemington Football Club would fight it out for that spot. Well at least in the Western region. Having played against both sides, Brunswick's Seniors and Flemington's 18's, i haven't seen a worst team yet.
Flemingtons 18's arent as bad as brunswick is in the seniors , i played against Flemington on Satday morning and they have alot of heart and i tihkn if they start to build on there talent they can become semi-competitive in the near future .. they are not that far behind the other under 18B sides

I know this kid , I watched him play against Albion in the under 16b semi-final last year he is a good size ... he was probly b.o.g that day because he shutdown Albions leading goalkicker Anthony Saad and also got about 30 posis himself , hes probly the reason the magpies got so close in that game because when he turns it on its hard to stop him. He hasnt been in great form this year ive heard but i know what he is capable of

How come when Flemington played Wyndhamvale in Round 2, three of their players jumped one of ours after the game, when the boys were in the showers, and hit Daniel Mannix, who was on crouches at the time. That's the only thing that really ****ed me off about Flemington. Having some biff on the field, no problem, all in good fun, but after the game disgusted me.

Flemington Vs Wyndhamvale round 2 game i was playing that game and we didn't start trouble the real issue was wyndhamvale and racist comments throughout the game to several of our players. As for the the so called fight after the game Wyndhamvale have the blame for that they strarted it.

I was very impressed with Wyndhamvale and the way they matched it with Werribee last Friday night, lets see if they can back it up this week. They've got the players no doubt and have a gun midfield with the likes of Cain, Dihm, Holman, Morrison, Lawrie etc, but seem to be abit lazy sometimes.
Werribee are the Premiership favourites in my opinion, all round side with no real standouts but a very good side in every position on the ground, play very well as a unit.
Western Magpies will battle off Werribee in the big one at seasons end, very good midfield with lots of pace, probably are lacking a foward target atm but midfielders seem to bob up and score well.
North Footscray is one of two darkhorses in my opinion, they have just got a few players back from seniors and are looking to defend their Premiership, look out for Daniel Neville and Chris Revell two massive standouts for this side.
The other darkhorse i would say is Hoppers Crossing, the side has been very unsettled with players going up and down each week with the A's. not blessed with great skills but are a very tigh unit and hard at the footy side. Players to look out for are Stephen Zhang(4 games with the A's already) a tough midfielder who never shirks the issue, standout player in my opinion, Nathan Smithwick, Mr reliabe down in defence provides excellent rebound has rejected offers to play A's, Shannon Low, Jay Blushke, Matthew Palmer, Jason Butty, Brad Adams, Adrian Parella have all had A's experience this season, but chances are they will not all play at once. Maybe i'm just biased but i have alot of insight into these Hoppers kids and they are a good bunch.

I think western magpies are the one to watch out for they have alot of pace through the midfield and are hard to stop i think hoppers will have a hard time dealing with the western magpies

well yea, the Western magpies defeated Hoppers today pretty convincingly by about 60 points. Hoppers came out and were even on top in the first half before the Magpies turned it on in the 2nd. Seems like i put the muzza on Steve Zhang abit earlier there as he had a shocker of a game before coming off with a groin complaint. Western Magpies midfield linked well together and ran hard all day, their talent is undeniable and i have alot of respect for this side.

The Western Magpies were absolutely sensational yesterday and it was probly there best performance all year considering the injuries they have. Still to come back into that side is the speedy midfielder Errol Henderson and outstanding ruckman Josh Lambert.
Hoppers were competive for the first half but then the magpies ran all over the top of them never giving hoppers a chance. The magpies kicked 10 goals to 1 in the second half with the midfeild taking absolute control. Werribee should be cautious of the very talented Western Magpies.

I think its disgraceful, i was king hit by number 13 of them, josh reid, i was bitten by another one and other i heard racialy taunting one of our players. All of them should be banned(Wyndhamvale) because its not good to have germ ridden scum like them playing contact sports such as AFL as they will spread aal of whatever they have, whether it be HIV, Syphillis, any of the Hepetitas' and Gonnarea, take your pick and more.
Scummy clubs like them should be thrown out of the league. I would also like to say i saw several needles around the ground and around there club rooms, which is quite unsafe.

yes, breaking news. Unfortuinatly the Western Magpies Football Club has lost its young star Ayden A. Bourne to AFL's rival on the rise, NRL. It is believed that the young all round super star is in talks with the new NRL team the Gold Coast Titans, and may be undertaking in trainning sessons in preperation for the clubs debut season.
