5. Cousins (only one who had good 4 quarters)
4. Hunter
3. Embley
2. Kerr
1. Chick

I'll take any win, but for the second week in a row we have played *****house for 3 quarters. Carlton deserved to win the game.

lol, just read the afl.com article on the game...

"Adam Hunter was the hero for the Eagles, kicking three of his four goals in the pulsating final term, while Michael Embley also lifted and kicked the final two goals of the match to secure the win."

That's quite an improvement on his WAFL reserves form.

No votes for Embley.

Definitely needs to do more.

Sure, he kicked the last two goals, but he missed a couple of sodas earlier, and his goals were the result of others' good work.

5. Hunter
4. Cousins
3. Cox
2. Selwood
1. Fletcher

RoJo was pretty good today. Lynch worked hard and finished with 3 important goals.

Embley did SFA for most of the game.

Look at his 2 goals.

He got on the end of a handpass in the goalsquare, and then outmarked a smaller opponent once we were already in front.

Not even close to deserving votes.

Kerr wasn't great today either.

Selwood and Cox were more important.

Very hard to give votes when the first half is so attrocious, most players only stood out for half a game or less!

I'm starting to get frustrated with Embley. He does little for the first three quarters and then does some brilliant stuff in the last quarter. I'd like to see him show more for 4 quarters.

Chick was much more important up forward in the last quarter. His defensive pressure was unbelievable. Kicked one himself, set-up a few others including the goal to put us in front.

Something more...

Does anyone tally these votes up or work out an average?

(I'd volunteer to do it - but I can't access the votres from R1-R9.)

Yeah, Jod does it

He does tend to be a bit slack in spitting it out at the other end though - don't you Jod

After watching the match twice:

5 - Hunter (amazing, in defense, in attack and for 4 quarters)
4 - Wirrpanda (mopped up everything in defense, provided a spark for the comeback)
3 - Cousins (ran like mad, solid everywhere)
2 - Chick (hit the packs and players hard to turn the tide at the right time)
1 - Cox (terrific rucking, but fewer "hits to advantage" than normal)

But most of the time its because i dont have the votes. I really must dedicate myself to getting you guys a ladder for the mid-season break then ill go underground for an exciting count at the end of the season.

Interesting season though so far, Cox early, Judd before injury, Cousins is coming back, Kerr is up there.

I do not get a vote as I have not been doing this from the start but I completely agree with what you have posted.

How amazing has Fletchers turnaround in form been? He is putting his body on the line and his kick have been far more accurate of late.

In addition to this I think Rosa needs a spell as his turnovers are getting worse. Did a couple of ordinary ones in the second quarter including a handball back into forward fifty that resulted in a Blues goal. I think an extended break will do him loads of good and it will give the coaches a chance to have a quiet word with him about his disposal.

Yeah but Jod you have always had a soft spot for Cousins...:)

He did have an awesome game and if anyone needs to see how hard he works watch the last 5 minutes of that game. Cus had a ball deep in the backline. Kicked it virtually up the guts. Then ran the length of the field and marked it just outside of the fifty on the wing. I think that is the passage of play where he ended up kicking a goal. ALl I could say whilst watching it was you f.u.c.k.i.n.g champ

1. Michael BraunHow was Dean Cox not among our top 5?

Has he become a victim of his own high standards?

Or are the mob more clueless than ever?

A combination of both, perhaps.

I realise that some people have short memories.

Believe it or not, there was a time when 28 hit-outs and 22 disposals was an outstanding performance from a ruckman. But now that output doesn't even deserve a vote.

If Dean Cox had less impact than Braun, Chick, Wirrpanda and/or Rosa, then I was watching a different game.

You people need to get a clue.

Big call coming from someone who gave Fletcher votes.Fletcher was actually OK.

He worked very hard all day and came a up a notch in the second half.

Still coughed it up a few times, but 1 vote is hardly excessive praise.

Having watched the game a couple of times, I probably could have given that vote to Chick, but Fletcher wasn't as far out of the frame as your post suggests.

He makes me flinch every time he gets the ball lately.
You just know he's fire off a handball to a man under pressure.
He did it a few times this week.

Hawkeye I can't believe you have left out 3 vital cogs in your teams win on the weekend ...here's my take on the voting :

5 Cousins ran all day
4 Hunter good both ends of the ground
3 Rosebury stepped up when needed
2 Margetts there when the pressure was on
1 Hendrie sterling effort when the game was in the balance
:D
