don't mean to put a dampener on another great comeback win, but that was still pathetic.
last week was great - playing a good team that was down on form, at a venue that is very hard to win at, i was actually prepared to accept a loss in that game (as much as i want to win every game), so to win was fantastic.
But this week - against a poor team in terrible form, that's second last on the ladder, at our home venue, well it should never have got to that situation in the first place.
And if it wasn't for Hunter and Chick we would've never got that close anyway. Easily our two best on the field.

I'm disgusted with that game. Sure we won but there no way it should have been under those conditions. Next week I really want to see the boys go out hard from the get go.

Obviously Eagles rely on Judd just a bit too much and that has obviously showed up big time in the lat 2 games.
but a win is a win, I'd rather win by 1 point than lose by a pont, wouldn't you ?

Absolutely spot on, mate. The comeback was stunning, however I would rather have a lower heart rate in the 4th quarter at Subiaco attributed to stupid football we play in the 1st half, skill errors and poor decision making that you would expect from a Poland team trying to play Aussie Rules

Reliance on Judd would explain our first halves, but doesn't explain the second halves...
Home town umpiring against the worst team in the comp won't win you a premiership guys. Better luck next year.

Exactly, you can't say it was because of Judd. When we play poor in the 1st half it's because of no judd, but when we play well in the second half it's because.......???

Saw the interview with Kerr earlier in the week and all he was saying was that they were concentrating on getting good starts from now on etc etc....
I guess that means starting NEXT week.

You can't expect the umpires to win the game for Carlton. Best of luck to Carlton in the next 5 years...you're going to need it.

Must say you got a couple things right, but don't agree with you on being the worst team in the comp, I think Essendon have that trophy.....

Home town umpiring?
Getting rid of the ball = not being tackled = not being pinged HTB
Seems pretty simple to me. We also had descisions go against us, it wasn't all one way traffic.
Close, but not close enough.
This is from a completely objective point of view. You guys got away with some decisions late in that game, i wouldn't blame the umpires carlton, but a few times, they simply didn't have the balls to give the blues frees that were pretty clearly there, late in the game. (I'm not still bitter)

There were a few frees that should have been played to the eagles IMO that werent. Judging by the entire game i thought carlton won out on the frees.

It was clearly visible how the eagles lifted their intensity in the last qtr and a bit. Dunno why they don't play at that pace from the start of the game, but I'm not overly worried. Last two weeks the eagles have shown what they're capable of if they turn it on.

Yes, but the danger is that this "attitude" will bite us on the backside sooner rather than later.
Not to mention how taxing the "come from behind" wins must be on the body, week after week.

I don't think it is an attitude, we won a tough game a long way from home last week. Every team seems to play above themselves when they play us for some reason, and the last month has seen us play some very hard physical football. How the likes of Cousins, Kerr, Chick and Cox are still running out the games has got me baffled, superhuman efforts if you ask me. They are basically stuffed, as in physically tired, and are just hanging on for the break IMO.
When opposition teams travel to Subi they are almost expected to drop their next game due to the "travel factor". However we are expected to win week in week out despite the fact that we have to travel every other week. West Coast travel better than most, but they are only human, it must catch up eventually.

Incredible. Still doesn't give any props to his side. Years of abuse??

I think many of you , including the lone Carlton supporter here are doing a great disservice to Carlton ....Carlton played fantastic footy for 3 quarters today ...they played better than Collingwood did at subi , does that mean collingwood are crap?
Of course not ..
The challenge was thrown at the eagles and once again they have proven what a class side they are .....how many teams do you know that can wrap up a game playing only one quarter ?

Was at the game (my daughter's first ever game too - what an introduction!) and I agree that Carlton played above their ladder position. Dunno if that'll be vindicated by the tv because games are so different live. I mean everytime I think Fletcher can't get any worse with his disposals he actually looks okay according to my mates who watch on TV...
BUT the skill errors from the first half are nasty and it's a pattern that started with the Kangas game. There is something going on with the team where it just can't get the game plan up and running soon enough. Probably because of the number of kids and confidence players we field (Lynch, Hunter, Hansen, Fletcher etc etc) we seem to too easily lose the plot and one crap term turns into two. It's nice and all that everyone remembers the Eskimo Joe song eventually but we do need to change something and our last two 4th quarter efforts can't forgive all. Maybe we need a good thrashing?
And I'm really sad to say this... but I think we should have had Gardiner in today. And I hope he's in for the next game for Seaby or Staker.

I don't think they proved a lot today
Last week was great - showed we can win from bad positions. We should have won today by 10 goals +.
Yeah it's not good enough and although we are 9-1, we need to be winning games more convincingly. Although I doubt any other side in the comp could come back and win games like we have in the last two weeks. But I also doubt Adelaide would let themselves get into a position like that.
We need to start games a lot better than we have been of late. Port will roll us next week if we dont lift.
But I also doubt Adelaide would let themselves get into a position like that.
How did they go against Richmond?
Poor performance overall.
Adequate last quarter resulting in an expected win.
Appalling habit to get into.

I see your point D4E but I think your forgetting something. Have you noticed how physical sides have been when playing us this season? Collingwood, Essendon, Geelong and even Carlton were all fairly physical. Its been well documented that Benny Cousins has taken a bashing and has been feeling it, I know Kerr is the same and I would imagine most of the boys have been feeling the effects of having sides come out and play rough.
The boys are tired, their sore. I'd say thats why they are having such slow starts and letting teams get these huge run ons before they real them back in. In all honesty, its a miracle that some of these guys are running out onto the field at all. I think we should just be happy that their able to lift when needed.

Is the team going through a hard training block at the moment ?
Well thats Five in a row since the derby loss but my heart could do with a bit of a slower rate I think.
Disappointed would be an understatement but 4 points is 4 points. A different West Coast team fronted up 3qtr time however it remains to be seen if we can deliver that sort of pressure from the start.
I dont think we can beat Port going on current form but stranger things have happened!!
Whatever happens it is certainly evident that the boys are sore and sorry with the mid-season break not coming quick enough!!

Have only played good footy in patches all season really and were also very poor in the pre-season
Yet were 10-1
Pleasantly
