Just wondering what is the worst sacking you have seen in country. In terms of least amount of games into the season?

The Manager of Togo in the World Cup has walked out on them before their first game .... not a bad effort.

Scooby doo this wasn't a sacking but our senior coach at Violet Town in the Kyabram district league 'Darren Kirkpatrick' walked out from the club 1 month before the season started this year..... pretty **** poor effort! however we probably would've nearly folded had he stayed on and the caretaker coach that had come in has been superb and we are 6 wins and 3 lossess now..... good karma

He fitted in well at the club it was his approach to recruiting that didn't help the club he had also played in six consecitive premierships with two sides then to coach a team to only one win hit him hard

Mansfield a couple of years ago when the flag with David Mench at the helm, tgought they wld say save money so brought in Johnny Mac, before even giving Mench a chance to reapply.

Split the club down the middle for a while but now all is getting back on track.

Woodend-Hesket coach bruce (pancho) gonzales walked before he was pushed about 3 weeks ago in Riddell League. Apparently worst speaker, trainer, communicator, tactician ever.
Since then club has thrived and continue to pick up new players as great club culture has returned

What the????? Don't think Johny Mac was ever associated with Mansfield mate....think you have got your wires crossed.

Peter Tossol came in from the O&M which divided the high country town...Mensch played on, they got to Pre-lim last year.

The last the GV saw of the T-Rex (Johnny Mac) was when he coached Seymour in 2001, I think he was suspended for 14 matches or somethin for belting an ump mid way through the season and got the sack. Played with Rochy before that.

yeah that's right pete. played with rochy in 2000. his first game for the tigers was awesome againest echuca. remember it well. kicked 5 and clean up about four blokes who had to go off. but through the middle of the year he starting having problems off the field. was on the **** on a friday night before one or two games and in the semi final i think VS shepp united at kyabram kicked about 2.7, something ridiculous like that. after that he went on to coach seymour not sure if it was straight after in 2001 or in 2002, cause he also had a stint with the bendigo diggers.

chris stuhldrier was sacked from bell park in the geelong league about a month and a half out from the first game. he was coming in after the successful reign of ken hinkley as ken was moving to the assistants job at gfc in 2004. the playing group found stuhldrier less than impressive and some key players had threatened to walk out unless action was taken so he was sacked and replaced by former coach (pre-hinkley) andrew mapleson who took the team to a preliminary final. not a bad effort for a replacement!!
