He played yesterday, but not the week before.

Probably not 100%, but knee recos will do that to you.

I'd have loved him to be given a tagging role on Johnstone. We were stuffed without Holland!

i was ok with him getting a game, thought he did ok against brisbane, thought of him as an option for Yze, Bruce etc going into the dees game

he failed big time

im not sure what he brings to the plate at all
-he is one paced
-he is a poor decision maker
-not sure how much leadership he brings down back, or whether it is needed down back with, presti, lockyer, clement, wakelin all down there most weeks

he turned the ball over so many times today with sloppy disposal that absolutely killed us

give his spot to a younger bloke who couldn't do the job much worse

The guy just does not think or has extremely poor football instincts. Can anybody tell me why O'Brien didn't play, yet Morrison did?

Everyone was a dud today... with the exception of Didak (****in champ), Clement (absolute legend... gets my vote for next Captain), Presti (always fantastic) and Burns (the General... need say no more). Dale also played his guts out in the last quarter, I love that kid, and Neon had his usual bursts of exciting play.

But nobody could do anything right today... it was so damn frustrating. They were all fumbling left right and center. Kicks were off target, and the one's that were on target were dropped by the receiver! It just wasn't the team I've been watching the past 10 weeks.

But to keep this post on topic, I do have to admit the Morrison was a stand out amongst the worst. The turnovers! He was nothing but an embarrassment today. I never want to see him listed again, absolute dud!

160 odd games of experience and he is garbage. He came to the club when we have too many like him (Ben Johnson, Rhyce Shaw, Heath Shaw, James Clement, Tarkyn Lockyer etc.) and he gets a game and was just terrible today. Got the easy touches and muffed them up. He should have a football brain, doesn't yet.

At West Coast he was an okay player, but never played on an opponent. Morrison's career so far at Collingwood in what is okay was mostly consisted of tagging in the midfield. When/If he has an opponent in the backline he is rubbish, and when he gets the ball he has been rubbish.

Lesson Learnt - Never pick up reasonable players who have experienced a knee reco (let alone two consecutive knee reco's)

Eh?

He was a good player at West Coast, and in particularly under Malthouse, that's why Malthouse re-recruited him.

That's not the issue, Licuria has had 2 reco's, the issue is that Malthouse should have seen that the deterioration in his career - like he should have with Woewodin (although that got nipped in the bud) - coming, and he should not be getting played infront of O'Brien, Rhyce Shaw and Jason Cloke, and probably Danny Stanley too.

Yes, that makes sense. It's all about lowering our expectations. If we expect deluxe clangers from Morrison, we should be relieved when he only commits garden-variety stuff-ups.

he is a joke. Collingwood should have sacked him after the drink driving incident and elevated a player that would play regular football.. Its not as if we dont have the money to pay his contract out. Does anyone know if his contract runs out at the end of the year ??

Wasnt that bad to be honest just lacks a bit of pace which is what we sadly need, hence doesnt have much of a future with us.No it’s more than that. He is slow he makes bad decisions and he has poor skills. The former has not been a surprise to me but the latter two I don’t know how he could have got away with for so long at WCE. Maybe he has fallen away there over the last couple of years. Anyway you look at it, it is another MM dud recruiting move from WCE. FMD is he ever going to be held accountable for anything?

He was one of my favourite players as a kid was Morrison, but the thing is, looking back, he never really played on opponent and was a sweeping backman. He plays like Jason Cloke except he can find more of it and can't play key position. He was also a good midfielder, but then again, most of his form came from the HBF/BP.

yer MORRISON IS going no where for us, it started last week against brisbane. it s not the forwards that are stuffing up its bloody morrison with his ability to not hit targets. if we had ryce shaw playing instead of morrison the side would get more run and better use of the ball. didak Lonie , buckley should be getting the most inside 50's as they are our best kiks. i m sik of morrison tryin to rak up useless possies.

Speak of the devil I just saw him down at the shops getting Red Rooster (thats bbq chicken dont know if ya got it in Pricktoria), must be having his week holiday back in Perth. he looks in shocking shape from when I remember him, he used to eat at the restaurant I used to work at all the time and he is easily 10kg heavier then I remember him. Its sad to see him fall from grace but its not in the same way cos he was always a nob. IIRC he is on around 200 000 maybe a bit more.

His GF is a nice piece of ass though. Atleast he has that going for him

P.S You will be relieved to know he wasnt riding a scooter.

I'd much rather see him out on the field than Morrison. He can at least spoil the ball and offer some run off the backline, whereas Morrison offers nothing.

agree. and at least if cloke plays well (OK highly unlikely :D) he might be able to capture some form or at the very least increase his value at the trade table.

I don't think he was actually that bad tonight against the Swans. He wasn't anything special but compared to previous weeks he played well. He did his part for the team and apart from giving away a free kick which lead to a goal he didn't really make any mistakes... not that I saw anyway. I still think he's a dud, but tonight he was probably worthy of his spot on the list.

agree hot pies, i thought he was actually better than alright tonight. his deciscion making was as good as anyone in the back half, he made noe mistakes and one almost all of his one on ones. possibly the most effective game i have seen him play for collingwood. I too still think he is a dud but i am always happy to be proven wrong by collingwood players

Must have missed that, hence the reason I said "not that I saw anyway". There were times I was out of the room with my son, so I didn't catch every minute of the game.
Like I said, I still think he is a dud, and although he didn't play great against the Swans I believe he performed a hell of a lot better than previous weeks. He actually found the ball a bit and used it well most of the time.
