Who will leave West Coast at the end of the season?

It's an interesting point to make because players have been speaking of leaving (not from West Coast particularly) but it's sure a topic to bring up, as some have been underperforming in our team.

Off the top of my head:

M.Embley
Adkins
Banfield
Matera

Unless last weeks performance was an aberation... McDud as well.

banfield and matera are retirements.

and either adkins or wooden will fulfill our main list turnover requirment this year by trading them away for low picks or delist them. we wont be looking for a return from them really, we will try to trade them to give them a chance to continue their careers, which both deserve. especially wooden, hes a solid fringe midfielder for most AFL teams, and would be playing 10 games or more a year at a side that has a weak midfield or a few injuries. hes just a long way back at west coast. he better than kasey green, and greeny is getting a few games with the roos this year.

membley wont be retained on the rookie list, and ben sharp may not either, unless he picks up his game a bit..

other than that, i would guess that the list would remain the same, excepting good offers for players like doogs, hansen, and gardiner, and we wont trade those guys unless we get something good, or unless they ask to be traded.

gaspar is the only other one skating close to the line. he may be traded, delisted or retained.

requests to return home by younger interstate guys are usually honoured as well. theres been no rumours or any this year, though.

Will Brad Smith 100% be gone?
How is he coming along?
Would love to see him get 1 more crack.

Lynch drops a mark

looking Jacked at training on monday

TERRIBLE hair cut tho, looks like he has died it black and cut it pretty short and just looks completly unatural

would be good too see him get another shot but with Lynch Staker Graham Hunter and Hansen all going ok in the foward line I think it may be hard for him to get another crack

And yes, Adkins is still on a one year contract, but I think if he doesn't pull his weight, he could be easily moving next year.

He's going to struggle to pull his weight considering he is out for the season with a broken leg.

I think Banfield will play on unless a) he gets injured (please God no!)
or b) we win the premiership (please God yes!)

Wasn't there a recent article in the worst where Banners was still 50/50 about playing on?

Seriously though, I would hate to see him delisted then kicking 70+ goals in the WAFL. I would think "If only we had kept him he could've had 70+ for the Eagles!"

I hope to see Pinocchio at another club, I think he would get a few games with a club who is in need of his type, plus I think we wouldn't even get anything for McDougall. I feel other clubs would pass him over as too inconsistent or "lazy".

I think if we are going to get rid of Chooka, we should trade him. He deserves another shot at AFL, he isn't getting an opportunity here because of the quality of our midfield. Maybe Sydney would want him? Any club that wants an experienced, quick, smart, long-kicking wingman can give him another chance. Would hate to see him or Doogs delisted.

I don't know that you can delist a contracted player and replcace his spot on the list

I don't know if delisting Wooden is such a good idea. Like Rowan Jones, he adds depth to the squad. Delist too many players like that, and you find yourself seriously screwed if you cop a bad run of injuries.

Agreed in some points, but would you stand in the way of a player who wanted to further his career and actually perhaps play a full season of AFL with another club?

Sharp. He is only rookie listed, and has been for two seasons now. Apparently some Melbourne clubs are showing some interest.

Agreed the forward line is goin OK atm but Hunter and Graham are utilities and often needed down back, same could also be said for Staker. Smith however is a quality forward, IMO he's a much, much better FF than Lynch. Smith is quick, got great hands and an awesome kick plus he and Lynch are an almost identical height and weight.

I think that's a little bit daft. Being the same height and weight as someone doesn't necessarily make you a good FF. Luckily Smith is but it's yet to be seen what happens after his knees.

Jeez people are still going on with the Brad Smith thing?

Late 20's, TWO knee recos and has never played the game at the top level. We aren't that desperate.
