This is where the tiges really show some commercial judgement rather than pick up the phone to the maggots.
Lets say we find out a single game in Tassie is worth 300k...ok we aim to play the Eagles or crows there...we pick up the phone and ask what do you ^&%# think of playing in Tassie alternately we can play at your home ground. Call me back and let us know what it would be worth. Me estimates at least 750k-1mn
Now thats negotiation without greasing the palms of the maggots:cool:
Interesting idea that has some merit but I dont totally understand the finer points.
If we do simply take over the Saints game the AFL should also give us basically all home games at the MCG, that discussion has been linked to the Tassie deal if Richmond goes.
Of course being from Tassie I think its a great idea because I get to see them but if we play one of the West(Most likely Freo) teams then it'll be a good deal anyway financially.

11 MCG home games thanks :). That's where we are at our greatest. I'd hate to play a home game outside Melbourne, it's bad enough playing a home game at Telstra. I don't even like the idea of playing an away game interstate against a Melbourne team. The only time I want us to play interstate is when we play an INTERSTATE team at their home. Richmond will be a super power once again and it won't want to play in front of crowds of less than 30,000. I'm sure Terry is excited about playing in front of 40,000+ Tiger fans everytime we play at the G. He would never give up that home advantage

im with ya MT, however Id also like to see the club return to some solid financial footing and if it means short term sacrfices than its got my support:thumbsu:

Forget about geography ...... leave that to the minnows;)

that is true, st.kilda are a pretty good example of what a bit of momentum can do, last report I heard their annual turnover would give the Naru ecomomy a nudge: which is a far cry form 5 or 6 years ago in the year thye paid blighty out:cool:

Or we could act like a professional organisation that has a third of a clue and realise that the deal for WA and SA is one game a week. That there are contractual obligations that prevent extra games being staged, in part to protect the local state leagues.
I mean, if this was even a little bit possible the Eagles would be playing 16 games a year at home. Clubs wouldn't be selling games to Brisbane, Gold Coast, Darwin, Canberra and Sydney. All their 'away' games agaisnt Dogs, Roos, Demons for a start would be at Subi.

Was thinking the same thing however, would the split round offer the possibility to circumvent this agreement? I have no idea but it would be worth investigating. A two or three year agreement with the eGirls which would push an extra 2 - 3 million into the club would be great.
