It makes me made to see journalist that point the finger when the saints are down at blokes like Brett Voss, pace is the issue that most stupid Journalist like to raise. Brett Voss has never ever been a pace merchant. But his strengths are his marking and courage. Now when you are getting beaten slow blokes will look slower. It is not Voss's job to run lines or to match it with the speedsters of the competition. Brett Voss is a valuable member of the St Kilda and in my opinion will be for a long time, what the saints seem to need is a better run with injuries, more experience into their top players who are all really under the age of 24. ( footballers hit their peak between 24 and 28) so watch out competition.

I am a Brisbane supporter i hope you guys don't mind my comments.

He's an excellent utility imo.

The saints will continue to struggle from here on out with Hayes out. Take anyones best midfielder out of their side and the same would happen.

Pointing the finger at mister consistant is wrong.

The saints are just a slow outfit hit hard by injuries which makes us look even slower. Singling out players is pointless now.

in a squad riddled with injuries, if he didnt get a game i would be surprised. he has earnt his spot in the side with many a courageous display.
do you wish you had kept him?

Brett wanted to move on if I remember correctly. I have no doubt if he had stayed he would have won a flag. Been a good player for you blokes.

You mean like taking Ricciuto out of the middle and playing him at FF each game ?

No - more like taking him (or Goodwin, or Macca) off the field and being told he is not to play again until sometime next year.

Matthews wasn't giving him any game time which is why he wanted to move.

Yeah maybe but I have also heard he was keen to move out of Michaels shadow. He used to always start on the bench but I suspect with time and experience he would have made the 1's. Spoke to him once in the street outside the Gabba all those years ago and like Michael was approachable and happy to talk footy. You bloke. You got a good one. Good luck to him and the team. The saints have been good to watch over the last few years.

When fit, yes. However I don't think we're going to see a fully fit Luke Ball in 2006. Hayes was clearly our best player until his injury.

hard to compare the two
ball is a real in and under tough player who contributes more 1%'s then disposals whereas lenny who although is a superb tackler is more a disposals king

Would you mind telling me what exactly 1%'s are please?

Sherpherds, Smothers, Spoils, Blocks, Chases, Tackles, Knock-ons etc. Generally things that dont get credited on the stats sheet but are invaluable to team performance.
