I saw on the stats he got 24 possessions but wasn't listed as one of your best..why?

He gives us nothing.

Would rather give his spot in the side to a youngster.

Speaking of playing youngsters surely Andrew Lee should of played in Fletchers absence.

I actually thought he was okay.

At least he tried to generate some run and carry. He also showed direction and leadership at stoppages, he was very good at organising the troops.

He wasn't fantastic, but he has pretty much been out of footy for six weeks and it wasn't a bad return.

I thought he was average today.

I was surprised to just read he got 24 possies, would have thought it was around the 15 mark.

Out of curiosity, how many of them did he run behind the player with the ball at a stoppage and get an easy kick?

That's his job, but not as many as you'd think. Put his head over the footy when required.

I thought he was ok. Anytime he had the ball in a good position in the centre square, his delivery into the forward 50 was very good, something our kids still haven't got the hang of yet.

I thought he was serviceable without being flash. Hard to expect the guy to return to full match durability after a lengthy period out. A few weeks on the trot will have him penetrating lines with direct passing. I hope he's used more behind stoppages as his experience will give us some direction into how the ball comes into the forward line. He's NO Hird...have to remember that!

ahhhh ,why didn`t you say "craig bradley type posessions" we were getting quite confused there.

Exactly HBF, as that was his MO in his last 3 to 4 years at Blueland.

Next season only half his salary will be counted. he'll be on the veterans list :thumbsu:

How many can be on the list 3 ? Hird is and who else ?

No he won't.

As many as you want. You can have a max of two on the external veterans list (outside the primary list) but as many players as you want can be nominated veterans.

But if you have 3, 1/3 of their salary is outside the cap, if you have 4, 1/4 is outside the cap and so on.

He was better than Pev, JJ and a few others. First game back for a while- just needs to hit the targets better

Wow, I can't believe you guys thought he played OK yesterday, as I thought he put in a real seagull performance - lots of possessions from kick-ins and loose after someone else wins the ball. Surely you'd be better off with someone like Dempsey getting a run in that role instead, with an eye to actual improvement.

He was ok. Not great, not good, not fantastic, ok.

lots of possessions from kick-ins and loose after someone else wins the ball.

That's his job. He uses the ball well and did yesterday. We have a number of blokes that can win the footy but don't use it overly well. His job is to shark off the likes of Watson, JJ etc.

Surely you'd be better off with someone like Dempsey getting a run in that role instead, with an eye to actual improvement.

Dempsey played last week, Campo ulitmately replaced him. He's shown some signs, he's also shown he isn't physically ready nor does he have the smarts to play at the top level yet. He needs to develop in the VFL. The young players in the side actually benifit from Campo playing. He is a good educator, he sets us up.

The midfielder looked more solid with him in there. He positions himself well and is generally a good user of the ball. If he wasn't playing, we'd probably have lost by more....

A reasonably game seeing it is first full game since round 3.

the more he gets his hands on the ball, the more he has the opportunity to hurt the opposition
