we should alas we need to beat the roos, we played ok against the best side in victoria, even better than collingwood last week! we have been competitive most of the year, the injured boys that came in last week got through which means more game time for campo, hird, watson etc.. lovett will be back and a rest will do more good than most think, i suggest we work on shots on goal over the next fortnight and just running skills, you can see sheeds is unearthing a side here.. and it will shine through soon
i hope carlton beat the roos >> we beat the roos
when we beat the roos... anything could happen for essendon for the rest of 06 maybe a few upsets
******IF WE LOOSE TO THE ROOS< I WILL GO TO THE TAB AND PUT 20 DOWN FOR US TO WIN THE SPOON******

I think you used alas in the wrong circumstances.
I think you used alas in the wrong circumstances. And loose (although he's not alone with that one)
We haven't beaten the roos since 01 and to be honest, I cant see that trend changing this year. :(

I think predictions such as one win will turn our season around are ridiculous. To say we have a side that will "shine through soon" is also ridiculous. Soon won't equate with this year or next year.
We are no certainties to beat North, and we shouldn't pretend that this will be an easy game. We could own the wooden spoon in two weeks if Carlton beat North and North beat us.
I predict a close and frustrating loss v North.

Interesting,
Form does actually back this result as against Port & Carlton (games we went into thinking we could/should win) we did not show up!
I think we have a chance to beat the roos, but as it has been mentioned we have to have a decent go this time.
Itll be a competitive game between our respective cellar dwellers, but the difference is they have Thompson up front....no doubt they would HAVE to consider bringing in Rocca also to stretch our defences.....my prediciton, they'll run away with it in the final term like anyone else we've played this year. Just have to accept we're just a shambles without Lloydy up front. Not to mention Hirdy is looking fragile now...hammie looks like tearing anytime he has to double his workload due to a lazy second effort by one of his team mates. Long road ahead Im afraid....certainties for the spoon this year and perhaps next also.

I don't think Sav is quite ready yet after hurting his hami. Should be back against you guys or the doggies but i doubt hill get a game because of our donkey siting in the hot seat.
We will lose to the gypos.

There. It's been done. Happy now!
Now can we stop distracting ourselves from what's stopping us winning the next game, even though dancing around the topic is a proud club tradition of ours.
Un-Australian.

Un-Australian.
Alright, you got me. I'll play along. How's this effort?
How does an Australian-born soccer player representing Croatia, who defies the rules and says "stuff you and your yellow cards, I'll go off when I'm ready" not get picked for our national side, when a crap Croatian-born goalkeeper practically costs us an own goal and remains a Socceroo?
How un-Australian is that!
Every week I say we are a chance, every week we lose.
No chance.
Now, we might win.

We have been utter rubbish this year and it wouldn't surprise me if Essendon wins this week, though Laidley does have a 4-0 record over Sheedy. Either way I'm predicting a terrible game of football.

Hmm good point. I was too scared to look at him at the 1/4 time huddle at Bendigo yesterday incase he decided to belt me.

It's all white line fever, he would have been more likely to put his arm around you and give you a kiss on the cheek.

I would worry about Henry, if I wasn't so worried about his dad.

When your talking rubbish footy sides, predictions are pointless.
I do predict that Dean Soloman will be giving Michael Firrito a wide berth.

Well as Firrito usually gives the footy a wide berth that's probably a good thing.

Dean doesn't need much help avoiding the footy these days. Doing a fine job of that all on his lonesome.

He's done pretty well the last few weeks.
