I have heard that the EFL Club North Ringwood allegedly payed players in their U/14 and U/21 teams to play, pinching the players from East Ringwood and Montrose. It's said that the coach of both these age groups gave the players free registration, free jumper and shorts, a 24 month mobile phone plan plus $250.

What does everyone think of this, not just people involved in the EFL, but the footy community in general?

If I recall correctly Vermont used to pay nearly all the players at their club (Junior's as well) from Under 12's up. well, that's what I recall (it could quite easily have been typical EDFL bull****)

plenty of $$$$ in local fooball and many clubs are offering $$$$ to get players and buy a flag.

I know of a lot of clubs that give away free socks and shorts to new junior players, plus a free pie & coke after the game (to all players), and I know that some clubs also give player awards as well, (I know this because Murchison does most of these to attract juniors to our Under 18's, because we don't have quite enough kids in town to do it on our own, therefore we have to be creative in our recruiting), but I haven't heard about juniors getting this ammount of money being bandied about for juniors as young as 13.

If it's true, then, that's a disgrace, because I think that Money shouldn't come into consideration until at least Under 18's, and even then it should only be in vouchers & equiptment, but if what North Ringwood doing can be proven, then they ought to be stuffed.

Do you want to retract, reaffirm or clarify that statement bearing in mind there is no Under 21 competition!
