That we (Melbourne) were incredibly lucky against you guys yesterday.

If it weren't for the massive, almost ridiculous disparity between the two sides skill levels in kicking at goal we'd have been down by about 7 goals at quarter time.

I'd take some value out of it if I were you though, when skill errors are occuring that regularly, eventually it takes it's toll on the teams confidence, you guys did well to hold out til half time. Any team would have given up at that point imo.

Melbourne were very lucky that we have the polish that we do (Bruce and Johnstone pretty much nailed it for us) but a lot of your team are young, and many are injured.

Stanton still looks the goods, Bradley is going to be a very good defender going forward (still incredibly young) and there are others that oculd be decent. I actually think that if Lloyd was playing yesterday you'd have won, no consolation I know, but he's a vastly underrated player in spite of his media presence I reckon.

Anyway, cheers, but honestly beating you guys yesterday didn't feel right - I'm used to Essendon and Melbourne games being finals type atmosphere and a fierce contest, lets hope it gets back that way soon.

Good post mate, there were positives from yesterday as you suggested but Melbourne had just too much class in the end. Good luck in the finals :thumbsu:

Even if we'd kicked straight I suspect we'd have been run over. Would have been a lot more entertaining though.

Of the Premiership contenders this year I dislike the Dees the least so good luck for the rest of the season, rJ.

There shouln't be a ridiculous disparity between the two sides- the players do enough on the track to keep skill errors lower than what the Dons showed yesterday.
