With Wakes and Maxwell out, we were using Rowey to plug holes in defence.

Harry will be welcome back and will have a tough gig on O'Keefe.

O’Brien: in the mix

Magpie rookie, Harry O’Brien, has been elevated to the Collingwood senior list for the second time this season, and is ‘in the mix’ for selection for the match against the Swans.

O’Brien, who played four games towards the end of the 2005 season, was elevated again in 2006, when Sean Rusling was injured at an intra-club practice game at Sydney’s Telstra Stadium.

Playing six of the first seven games this season for the senior side, O’Brien was in fine form in defence before returning to Williamstown and the rookie list, with Ruling again at full fitness.

However, O’Brien finds himself elevated for the second time in 2006, with Blake Caracella now on the long-term injury list, having sustained injuries to his neck, which will see the Collingwood forward in a neck-brace for at least the next four weeks.

Collingwood’s Football Manager, Neil Balme, said that O’Brien will be considered for selection in this week’s split-round clash with the Swans at the Telstra Stadium.

“Harry has shown us already what he can do at the top level. He is a good kid with lots of talent and we believe he will take this opportunity with both hands, as he has in the past. He will certainly be in the mix for selection this week.”

Good to see. Suprised that they have chucked Carrots on the list two weeks after the incident, so that pretty much rules him out for the season, or almost, I guess.

hopefully he has cured his case of the fumbles..

its almost frightening to watch him juggle the ball every time he takes possession.

I have liked his endeavour though...

Yeah his endeavour is good, he keeps going instead of losing his head about fumbling. Glad to see him back!!

O'Brien has a crack, and thats all you can ask for. Maybe some of the others should take a leaf out of his book.
