The Gav Wanganeen event has sold > 550 tickets. I assume that's not counting guests. At $130 a head that is $71,500. Surely $50,000 of that would be profit? Similar money for 'Power goes to Rio'.
At this rate we're more profitable as an entertainment company than a football club.

Wouldn't think so. At $130 a head and given its a more formal (neat business atire if I remember) I'd imagine at least half would be catering and venue.

Great news guys, last night Port Adelaide held there biggest fundraising event yet Power goes to Rio

Wait for it, 250,000 profit and that was still with a the 2nd wall to do with another 100 auctions. So it should easily make well over $300,000 profit for the club.

Highlights from the night.

Dwayne Russell was MC, did it for free for the love of the club was presented by Choco with a framed Power guernsey and also a framed Magpie guernsey.

Tony Santic purchased, 3 framed signed soccer shirts Man Utd, Socceroos and Adelaide Utd for $8000, along with many other things he bought.

Gav's 300th and final game guernsey (He wore 4) went for $5500

Dinner with Mike Rann and Kevin Foley went for $4000, think that was purchased bt Greg Boulton

The pool went for $32,500

To fly to Melbourne and sit on Port Adelaide's Brownlow medal table went for $18,000

A No.1 guernsey with Pics and signed by Gav, Matty and Tredders went for $9000

Greg Boulton spoke of a similar function held by West Coast which made just under $200,000 so to make around $300,000 was a tremendous effort and well done to everyone involved at the club. It is now regarded as Adelaide's premier black tie event.

Allan Scott was even there, and we are very lucky to have a supporter in Tony Santic :thumbsu:

Big :thumbsu: for their support to Messrs Russell, Santic, Scott, Rann and Foley (yeah, never mind the politics, Foley always speaks highly of Port, and recently described the Port club as the only place he and Rann felt welcome during the days of their cricket team opposition days)

Was apretty good night. Decent food, free booze and some great things on auction.

We bid for a few things...we left before the 2nd wall was closed but we were in front to get a signed block photo of Gav with his arms in the air after he kicked his 3rd goal in the GF. Also bid for a blue Port training guernsey but it went too high and a couple of others. Some bloody good things for auction there.

Thought I saw you there Macca, sorry I didn't say hello. Yes I left before the results of the 2nd wall too, went to the Casino to watch the soccer.
