Cheers Russian. Yep Rischbieth's debut. Had a few performances among best in ressies earlier this year, couldn't crack the league side, then vanished for a while. Was in the top 2 or 3 last week. Good to see him rewarded.
Bentley gets a chance to show his stuff too - assuming the ankle's ok.

I think it is Risch's debut.
Dollings debut for the Pies too

How does Ware get to play as he played AFL last week so I would have thought makes him ineligible this week for sanfl????
Does that mean he is omitted already from Melb game or is there some other reason he is able to play sanfl?

Motlop 5 goals (north kicked 19.20, 15 goals after half time). The way the RPH commentators are spruiking about him, sounds like he had a sensational second half, including one freak goal (one of the best goals in the history of the SANFL they described it).

Motlop drew similar superlatives from Doug Robertson in his report of the game (http://www.theadvertiser.news.com.au/footy/story_page/0,8747,19572150%255E25397,00.html).

North Adelaide 19.20 d. Sturt 14.9
A DANIEL Motlop-inspired North Adelaide pulled off a remarkable escape act to condemn Sturt to also-ran status this season with a 41-point win at Adelaide Oval last night.
After being outplayed and trailing by 33 points at the main break, the rampaging Roosters blasted 15.12 to just 4.4 in an imposing performance that smacked of pure class.
The amazing Motlop conjured a brilliant sleight-of-hand - and foot - performance in the third quarter that made a mockery of human movement.
After just seven unremarkable disposals in the first half, Motlop moved into another sphere to picked up eight kicks, take three classy marks, give out one handball that resulted in a goal to Matthew Campbell and kick 4.2 off his own boot in about 30 minutes. It was simply magical.
He rotated from the goalsquare to the midfield in the second half to menace the Blues with bursts of weaving turns and blissful skills to pick up one more goal to end with 5.5 for the night in a gamebreaking display.
Deluca 0K, 4M, 7H, 16HO
Rischbieth 2K 2M 2H
Bentley 4 1 3 (I'm guessing this is right because it's reported Nelson withdrew pre match, but his name remained on the stats sheet - so these are 'Nelson's' stats - I assume that's an error and these are Bentley's stats as he's not listed)
Matt Thomas rated 2nd best for Norwood with 22 touches (13/9 3M), while Lower was quieter with 7 (6/1, 4M).
Shattock 8 5 6

I think its got Bentley down in the reserves as 2nd best for Sturt. Not sure if he played n the league game.

Good to see Motlop had another cracker of a game. Maybe pushing to get back in the Power side.
What are peoples opinions on Matthew Campbell? Dont get much SANFL up here, but seen him play a cpl times and has impressed and by the looks of it had a cracker last night aswell. Is he going in the draft at the end of the year? Would he be worth looking at to pick up or will he only be a mid-range player in the AFL. I went to school with his brother Joel (played North reserves last night) who spent a year on melbourne rookie list (same year Davy got elevated) and from what i can see Matty is 5times better than Joel.

Good spot Macca. Sturt named 23 so Bentley probably dropped back to the 2s. 'Nelson' must've been the other bench player.

He really can't do much more in terms of on field in the SANFL. He's clearly classes above it. If the problem over shoulders or nighclubs has been cleared up, he should go back in.

I saw him against Port at Prospect and he was very good. Frighteningly quick, willing to run with the ball and has great goal sense. He's only small but so were Davey and Pearce when they were picked. He'd certainly be worth a punt. North supporters would know more about him of course.

You are spot on Ford. Matty Campbell is super quick and he definately knows where the goals are. His work rate and willingness to chase and tackle is inspirational. He does tackle very well for a small bloke (168cms, 74kgs).
In his second year in the SANFL he has played 25 games and kicked 40 goals. This year he has taken on more of a midfield role rather than just playing forward pocket. I would be very surprised if he is not at least rookie listed for next year.
Regarding Motlop, I heard from a reliable source who was at the presentations last night that he actually 'popped' his shoulder during his 3rd quarter period of mayhem where he blew Sturt off the park. It was very noticeable last night that Motlop was very reluctant to extend his shoulder above his head so he tried to mark everything on his chest which didn't always work.

Matty Campbell is awesome. He is working very well with Motlop at the moment, they are kicking goals for fun.
Matty is better than Joel i reckon, Joel is good but he doesnt quite have the mental attitude.

Just showed the highlights on the ABC and yeah Motlop turned it on. Kicked a couple of rippers...one of them was similar to Dews goal against Hawthorn last year...evaded 3 players deep on the boundary then checksided the ball through the goals.

Willits has injured his knee in the 1st quarter at Glenelg. Unknown how serious it is.
'Bruce' has returned to the bench after 1/2 time following treatment but the commentators have said he is unlikely to take further part in game today. Hope he is ok.
Logan took a great hangar in the 3rd term and kicked a goal. He does look a good player.

Elijah has racked up around 18 possessions (14/4) according to the ABC stats man. Used it pretty well too.
Logan seemed to be getting quite a bit of it, altho his stats are inflated a bit with the quick give, get, give in close.

He looked to be in a bit of pain. I guess it's a positive that they thought he might have been able to get back on and worked on him thru the half time break ..or they have really inept doctors/physios ... :o

It may not end his season, because IIRC Wilbur had the same problem with shoulders popping during the 2004 season. They'd just put them back, strap them up and send him out again. So the same could be done with Motlop. But also IIRC Wilbur said the post surgery period was very painful and the only way he could get to sleep was sit in a chair in front of the TV until 2am until he nodded off. I would think that would pretty much stuff up your pre season, so maybe they should write this season off and go the op now.

Logan 11K 5M 15H - surprisingly was not rated among Glenelg's best.
Willits 6 5 2 - not bad for just over a quarter's work. His injury is listed as a 'cork'.
Ware 11 4 3 2.0

That was a very special goal and it got the Rooster army on the hill cheering.
He tried to do it too often though which is the only negative from his game Friday night.

As for the lairy stuff, it's such a pity. He has to be a disciplined player before he comes in with us again.

If people haven't heard, Marc Bullen quit the Magpies (with their blessing) to return to Melbourne to be with his very ill father.
