That was a fantastic innings from Cairnsy and who wouldn't pay money to see quality like that?? What a player, what an effort under great pressure coming in at 5 for 98.
Cairns: 102 not out off 99 balls.

Days like this make me PROUD TO BE A KIWI. Well, half o' one, anyways... :o
Now where's that inflatable sheep ....
And to make things even better he's in my fantasy cricket team! 142 points from one match!! Top knock from Cairns and great effort by NZ.
Well done Chris. Good match tonight.

Very exciting stuff. Players like that really make cricket and in particular one-dayers, exciting to watch.
Australia need a player like Chris Cairns. Currently we are lacking in that department.

nope we are not lacking a chris cairns type as far as batting goes we have one better called gilcrist.
its time for the selectors to bite the bullett and move gilly down the order or more to the point a roving position in the batting order to come in earlier if needed.
btw an absolute top shelf innings by cairns last night.
cheers!
his knock was one of the best ive seen for a while, i really enjoyed watching him play and for him to both score a century and win the match for his team was well deserved

They did that today and then never used him. Some weird thinking going on in that team at the moment. Why one earth would you not use Adam Gilchrist in a One Dayer?
