Is Dan Cullen suffering from the second year blues or was his first year a fluke?
We know he won the Bradman award but that was due to his first Pura Cup season. Since then he has done nothing that suggests that he will be a good test cricketer.

Offies in Australia always struggle. Not much turn, no footmarks to land in and true bounce throughout. Would his first two years of shield cricket be the best start of all time for an off spinner in Australia? Maybe if you exclude any NSW offies due to the SCG advantage.
His best chance at international success is on tour although I don't think we'll ever see an off spinner lead the Australia spin attacked. Second spinner to Warne, MacGill or Bailey is definitely a possibility though. Also important for him that Australia's next keeper is a good batsman so that we use 5 bowlers occassionally.

I think considering most of our leading spinners and experts consider him to be the successor to Warne and MacGill and one of the most unique talents in Australia, they probably have a better idea than the petty and jealous likes of eddiesmith and The Reaper.

If you want to know, I believe that Cullen has a future part in Australian cricket. I believe that it is too early to decide wether he is out of form or is bad.

He's a very good finger spinner
But while stating the obvious, he ain't at the level of Warne or Macgill and possibly never will have to tools to reach that level
BUT, he'll still be very useful in the same manner that Tim May was.

He was getting spanked before that anyway...
1 of his 1st games after getting the award he got spanked around by Warney and even the Freak :p
Will he become a good player? Who knows at this stage, but South Australians act like he is already some bowling god

Just like Dennis Lillee regarding Mitchell Johnson?
That said Cullen will bounce back.

That's some good examples of classic overrating, maybe a bit too exaggerated though. :D

In Cullen's great season did Tait make Cullen look better than he was?
