Was in the Criterion Hotel at Castlemaine on the weekend, it being such a classy establishment ... and noted a framed photo on the wall of what was probably the best mark ever taken in a football match.

Who's mark do yer reckon it was?

Would have to be the best mark ever if that is not going to far, on the wing in front of the main gates, up rose TK, standing on some geezers head virtually, well his shoulders anyway.

i always got to ted's oval late as it was a bit of a travel from home. we always scabbed a lift ad never drove as always planned to have a few to indeed drown our sorrows as we had expected (and received) a few canings down there.

i remember in the car on the way down, the main game commentators were talking up the game about to commence, yet they constantly referred back to croswell jr's mark being an absolute screamer.

extremely disappointed i never saw it.

back to ted stadium, the rising sun across the road was a dump. no where near as homely as the sun in carlton where we roasted our cold legs in front of a cosy log fire after many a spirited victory....

Where was the senior match played that day? All I can remember is that it wasn't at the Western Oval, and was probably interstate.
