Well, Matt Hayden has been dropped for the next One-dayer on Tuesday in favour of Mark Waugh, who will obviously open the batting with Gilchrist (the fact that he didnt get a hit was a joke, why would Steve Waugh put himself in instead of Gilly?).

The fact is that Mark and Steve Waugh are probably the 2 weakest batsman in the team, and personally I'd like to see Hayden stay in the team and even good old Slats be given a go at some point.

Anyway, on Tuesday which fast bowler will be dropped for Brett Lee, or will he even come back at all? Gillespie and Bichel bowled well last night, but personally if 1 of them had to go I'd say Gillespie would have to go. Bichel bowled tight when it was needed (causing a wicket or two at the other end), and basically bowled a brilliant line and length all night and they couldn't get him away.

Gillespie on the other hand went for 60 off his 10 overs and bowled too short for the majority of the night.

Maybe some QLD bias coming here but Bichel hasnt been given much of a go lately, almost getting the record for most 12th man appearences but he has however taken advantage of all the opportunities he has gotten.

Who do you guys think should be dropped and retained for the next match?

CarterS, read the Slater thread, I don't think he'll be back for a while.

It's hard to give you any creditiblity after suggesting Slater should be given a go.....and you reckon the Waughs are weak... He can't even average 30 for NSW....he's definately lost it at the moment, doubt he will ever wear the Aussie colours again.

Apparently he is VERY dirty over being dropped from the Aussie side...

I think Gillespie should be rested, Bichel needs to be given another chance, plus we don't need to overbowl Gillespie and McGrath...save them both for the test series against SA.

How about dropping Warne and replacing him with Brett Lee?

Try 4 quicks for a change

Cheers

Well, Slaters out of the picture but the selecters need to get things right.

Mark Waugh this series has gotten scores of 1, 0 & 15 and I'd say that's pretty much a failure in my eyes. Give the guy 1 or 2 more chances but after that Hayden has to be the next in line after that.

When I'd heard that Bichel was back in the team for last night I automatically assumed they would have rested Gillespie instead of Lee, the more injury prone player. He looked a little tired, especially in his first spell where he went for 7 an over.

Regarding the rotaton policy, here's a thought.

Do you think that maybe we are chopping and changing the side (ie rotating it) because the selectors are trying to find out what our best side actually is?

Kinda makes sense I think.

Bichel doesnt deserve to be dropped after his great performance yesterday. I say drop Gillespie for Lee even though i feel Dizzy is a better bowler than both Lee and Bichel, he just needs a rest.
