he should be cited for that but wont. It was careless, reckless and GUTLESS.
Should get 4 weeks for that, but won't even get cited, the AFL is becoming a joke, so many grey areas its a wonder they don't revert back to black and white tv for the telecast.

but he was near a goal post, and he pushed him straight into it and the posibility of doing serious injury was high.

Over-rated! I loved last night when Dermie kept saying thompson was doing the right thing by getting Feltcher away from the sqaure. Huh? Flethcer is one of the worst pack marks/spoilers playing full back and we all know what Sav does to him, kicks lots of goals on him.

I think it should have been a 50m penalty at least. Thompson took the mark, and was pushed into the post. Completely unneccesary, and potentially dangerous.
In a game where there were about 6 50m penalties, four to Essendon, mainly in front of goal, this should have been a 50m.
Fletcher's gangly frame has been used as an excuse for unco-ordinated leg movements when he trips opponents. He gets away with a lot.
He should be reported for this incident, and given a reprimand. I don't think it deserves a suspension, but it is a nasty incident, and cannot be condoned.

Just because there's padding doesn't mean there's a guarentee of not getting injured. He could have hit his head above the padding. I'm not even sure whereabouts he was hit and if it had padding or not.
Regardless, Fletcher intentionally pushed him into the goal post, knowing full well that it could cause injury. Doesn't matter if you are a Bombers fan, if you are condoning this then you really are a moron.
