In another thread I made a joke about West Adelaides contribution to the AFC, and redandblack posted this
Westies have provided an amazing number of players, not only to Adelaide. You can add Scott Welsh and Luke Jericho to the previous mentions.
There's also Byron Schammer (Freo), Beau Waters (West Coast), Nathan Brown (Melbourne), Sam Fisher (St Kilda), Nathan Eagleton and Adam Cooney (WB), Shaun Rusling (Collingwood), Jordan Russell (Carlton), Cameron Wood (Brisbane), Peter Walsh (Port), etc, etc.
Just wondering ( if someone wants to take the time) what the actual contribution of each SANFL club , either to the AFC or if you have the time , to the AFL since the introduction of the Crows.
I know Glenelg had a high ratio at the start , wonder how it looks after 15 years, I would suggest Sturt have struggled in this regard

Is Andrew Jarman considered a RedLeg?
As he was a Norwood player when the Crows grabbed him and played for Norwood when still on the Crows list I am afraid so.
In light of his coaching record recently we have forgiven him though:p

Excuse my ignorance, because North is always a side I've never really had a clue on... What kind of impact has Jars had on the club? Does he have a long term coaching future? AFL? Assistant coaching role in the next couple years? How long is his contract?
Always loved Jars and I think he's that perfect blend of passion, intensity and smarts to be a great coach. I thought he would have made a great captain as well.

SANFL CLUB CONTRIBUTION TO THE AFC
From my stats ... I haven't counted rookies, only those on the senior list, and have noted players in their original clubs if they've returned home from another AFL club:
WWT (21): Burton, Weidemann, McGregor, Biglands, Crowell, Pesch, Klug, Kluzek, Shirley, Payze, Lindsay, Negri, Cicolella, Skipworth, Hentschel, McCarthy, DiBiase, Schwartz, Ugrinic, Bock, Vince
Norwood (19): Pittman, Jarman, James, Maynard, Thiessen, Rowe, Robran, Gallagher, Ross, Bassett, S.Cook, Keating, Bown, Kelly, Warhurst, Mellow, Tanner, S.Smart, Gibson
Glenelg (18): Jameson, McDermott, McGuinness, Liptak, Viska, Marshall, Hall, Byrne, Rouvray, Murphy, Bode, Bartlett, Golding, Thompson, Lamb, J.Hocking, Hinge, Krueger
West Adelaide (17): Ricciuto, Edwards, Rehn, Modra, Marsh, Fielke, Patterson, Howard, Welsh, Richardson, Bartsch, Dempsey, Fogden, Godden, Singh, Porplyzia, Jericho
Port Adelaide/Magpies (16): McLeod, Anderson, Tregenza, Brown, Hodges, Beinke, Johncock, Ormond-Allen, Chalmers, T.Bond, Warrior, Abernethy, Smith, O'Loughlin, Higgins, Wakelin, Pedlar, Thompson
North Adelaide (14): B.Hart, D.Jarman, Tasker, D.Hart, Wellman, Herbert, Carey, Mail, Saliba, Turner, Ladhams, Wintle, Clisby, Perkins
South Adelaide (13): Smart, Bickley, Goodwin, Torney, Koster, Doughty, Powell, McIntyre, Fitzgerald, Bone, Groom, Clarke, Sampson
Centrals (10): Vardy, Lee, Ingerson, McKinnon, Schwerdt, Hocking, Cook, Tongerie, Obst, Schell
Sturt (9): Mattner, Sanderson, Atkinson, L.Stevens, Packer, Kennett, Laidlaw, Nelson, Begley

Right on both counts. The Bays dominated early, before being overtaken by the Eagles.
Sturt have not only struggled in the number of players contributed, but also in the number of games each player has contributed. Sturt players have contributed 118 games - Mattner has played 68 of them. The other 8 player combine for 50 games or about 6-7 games each on average.

You might want to add another Waklin to the port list, one at Power and one at Collingwood.
Cheers

No, this is just a list of AFC players by SANFL club. I could do a wider list of all AFL clubs, but I don't really give a shyte about other AFL clubs. :p

Thanks. Will edit. If there was anyone who was going to pick up a Magpies player not getting his due, it was going to be you. ;)
